Something dark is lurking on a German Christmas Market… is an optional Christmas story in the complete contemporary fantasy Seven Wardens series. It is best read between book 5 (Above The Waves) and book 6 (Under the Ice). It includes unusual Celtic and European mythology, plenty of adventure, and a romantic reverse harem subplot.

Christmas in Germany
This story is just a short adventure to Germany, but packs a double dose of hot hot heat! While not required in the main storyline, this story provides a wonderful look into Marcy and her men’s devolving relationship. I really enjoy how this series incorporates legends and beliefs from throughout Europe. This series is heating up, and I’m loving it!
This short installment between the books in the series is a great look at the characters applying what they have learned in the past books to solve a problem. I enjoyed this quick steamy read and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Five out of five stars

This is an extremely short read BUT worth every penny!
If you love Christmas stories, need to get in the spirit or just for the heck of it, I suggest you give this little gem a try. It even has a gnome. 🙂 🙂
This dynamic duo of authors don’t disappoint.
I really enjoyed this steamy, adventurous short story. This is book 5.5 in the Seven Wardens series, so it is best read in sequence. There’s still plenty of fabulously filthy fun, as well as a battle of sorts. I especially like how Macey, Jared, Cam, Flint, Ronan, and Luc work together but it’s Macey who figures out how to defeat the “monster.” There’s also a couple of wonderfully erotic scenes, so this is not a Christmas story for reading to small children. 😉
It’s neat to see more fantastic beings from another country. This time the focus is on Knecht Ruprecht. I had not heard of this part of German folklore before. While his boss is Saint Niklaus, Ruprecht is the sidekick whole doles out punishment for kids on the naughty list. Unfortunately, Ruprecht has been made real and he is killing people.
I think there is just enough space for thought to get philosophical. It is up to the reader to see any morals in this story.

A side story of sorts. A little Christmas holiday that has a gnome bring Macey news no less. Ha! A funny read that is definitely well worth it.
Christmas short
I don’t usually read a lot of PNR but I do like Laura Greenwood. With that being said I have not read the previous books in the Seven Wardens series so I was more than a bit lost when I started reading this, as it appears you really do need to have read the other books first. But with that being said this short story is still well written. I can tell that if you are familiar with the series then this book would be a nice addition to it. It may also work as a bit of an intro to this series and some of the characters.
So for me I am rating this as 3 Stars because even though it is well written it does not say that you have to read the other books first in the book description.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Below the Baubles by Laura Greenwood and Skye Mackinnon is a stand alone Christmas story that is part of the Seven Wardens series world. In this book, Macey a Kelpie shifter who is part of the Seven Wardens, who are tasked with protecting the world from paranormal threats. In this tale she and her male companions are tasked with traveling to Germany to protect humans from Knect Ruprecht. This is a quick adventure that is full of danger from a Christmas bad guy that the Seven Wardens must neutralize and lots of steamy scenes between Macey and her men. This is one Christmas tale that had me warmed up and raring to go after I finished reading it. This is a very hot romantic read that will warm you up on a cold winters night. Below the Baubles is a steamy Christmas adventure.

Action packed, sexy, fun and highly entertaining adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and emotional turns…. was a great read from beginning to end. Really enjoyed this thrilling journey!
What present is waiting below the baubles?
Even Christmas doesn’t come without complications for kelpie shifter Macey. Her dreams of a quiet evening with her men are ruined when worrying news arrives from Germany (delivered by a garden gnome, no less).
At least this time, it isn’t all work and no play, there’s plenty of time to warm up from the cold outside for the Wardens.
A steamy standalone Christmas story, part of the complete and bestselling Seven Wardens series, a reverse harem drenched in Scottish mythology.
Laura has done another outstanding job in the wardens universe. Can’t wait for more.

One should be familiar with the series of the SEVEN WARDENS to fully appreciate this story.
Macy and her wardens are called to Germany to deal with a legend gone rogue – Knecht Ruprecht. He is supposed to punish the bad children a little, but lately seems to have gone to the extreme, even killing some.
A short story, it still lets you enter that state that the 7 Wardens create, where you do not want to end the story, but continue on to the next.

This well-written story is a quick, enjoyable read with some extremely hot scenes. I have not read any of the other stories in this series and I will be going back to read them. The eight book in the Seven Wardens series is a short Christmas story that kept me turning pages. I did not realize that Krampus was also a legend in Germany called Knecht Ruprecht. Short but good. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great story to read if you like hot fun reads. It was interesting to visit Macey and her men as they go on “vacation” to fight evil with a Christmas theme. I liked the drama and bit of fun in it. And very steamy. Just a quick fun read.
Macey, a Kelpie Princess in a relationship with five men, sees a garden gnome on her front porch waving at her! Wolfgang tells her he is a spy, a Kabouter from Belgium working undercover as a garden gnome in Germany, and he needs the help of the Wardens. He explained that in German Christmas traditions, they celebrate Saint Nicholas Day on the sixth of December. The children put out their shoes and hope that Nicholas will fill them with fruit, nuts and sweets overnight. Saint Nicholas is accompanied by his loyal servant, Knecht Ruprecht, whose job is to punish children who have been naughty by use of a switch. It was only a legend to scare bad children and make them behave, but the man has become real and is out of control, having killed at least six people already. Macey and her men were the best people to handle this because, as part of the Seven Wardens, they were tasked with protecting the world from threats like this one.
When they arrive at Heidelberg, they have free time since Knecht Ruprecht won’t appear until nightfall, so they enjoy each other’s company in their hotel room. Will they be able to find and stop Knecht Ruprecht before he harms more people?
This is a fast read and will keep keep the reader “very warm” while waiting for the hunt for Knecht Ruprecht to begin. Grab your copy and see if they can successfully stop his reign of terror!
