Something dark is lurking on a German Christmas Market… is an optional Christmas story in the complete contemporary fantasy Seven Wardens series. It is best read between book 5 (Above The Waves) and book 6 (Under the Ice). It includes unusual Celtic and European mythology, plenty of adventure, and a romantic reverse harem subplot.

Quick Holiday Paranormal Read
This super short novella, approximately 10K words, is a Christmas mystery for the Wardens to solve. The book ends the fantastic Seven Wardens series by this talented author duo. While you probably don’t need to have read all the series to enjoy this one, you will probably appreciate it more if you are familiar with the characters, their interactions, and the in-jokes—yes, waffles show up here! At the very start of the story, a garden gnome visits the Wardens and asks for their assistance with Santa’s fearsome servant, Knecht Ruprecht. In Germanic traditions, on Saint Nicholas Day, Knecht Ruprecht punishes naughty children with a switch instead of them getting presents from St. Nick. However, according to the gnome, he is out of control in this story, taking lives instead of using the switch. Can Macey and the other Wardens track Knecht Ruprecht down before he strikes again? If you know the series, you’ll enjoy the characters’ interactions and the steam factor. By the way, at least in the MOBI I received from a book review site, the story is only about 75% of the book file; the rest tells you more about the authors and their multitudes of books. I wasn’t wild about the profanity (including the F-bomb) and crude words or the authors’ constant incorrect use of commas. Despite these annoyances, I found the book fun to read with its very different Christmas story based on a tradition we in the US are not familiar with.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Okay, Knecht Ruprecht isn’t technically an elf. He is part of German folklore, and travels as St. Nick’s companion, punishing the bad children. But now, he’s been brought to life and is running amok and killing people. The Wardens come to the rescue in this short holiday-themed story. It’s not all work, though. There are some hot, sexy times, too. I recommend you read the other Warden books first or you may feel a little lost. Enjoyable, quick read.

The Wardens get a visit from an undercover gnome, warning them that the German Santa assistant responsible for punishment of the bad children has become very real and is killing people. They arrive, but the one they are looking for is not out during the daylight, so it is time for some adult fun and games that can melt the snow. The characters are terrific and this bit of German folklore added a nice touch to the series.

Below the Baubles by Skye Mackinnon and Laura Greenwood is Seven Wardens spin off Christmas story.
I absolutely loved this book/Short Story and can easily be read on its own any time after book five. This is a steamy, adventurous short story and a garden gnome/ Kabouter undercover that needs her help.
Well written continuation of the series that I have enjoyed for several books.
‘Below the Baubles’ by Laura Greenwood and Skye MacKinnon is book 5.5 in their “Seven Wardens” series. This can be read as a standalone, but you’ve already invested in the series and want every twist and turn that comes next if you’re like me. It’s a Christmas story with enough heat to keep anyone warm during the cold with Macey and her five men (yes, I said five) finding time before the current quest to spend time together. A garden gnome shows up at Macey’s door and explains he’s a Kabouter from Belgium working undercover as a garden gnome in Germany and needs their help containing Knecht Ruprecht, Saint Niklaus’ loyal servant who is running rogue, leaving several dead in his path. If you’re not familiar with Knecht Ruprecht, it’s part of German folklore. He works alongside Saint Niklaus doling out punishment for kids on the naughty list. Unfortunately, Ruprecht has become real. The entire series is filled with mythological and fantastical beings so having new folklore brought to life just keeps the intrigue and wonder alive.
A Kabouter is on the front porch dressed as a garden gnome when Macey opened the door. His name is Wolfgang and he is asking for the help of the Wardens in Heidelberg, Germany, to take care of a monster who has shown up and killed half a dozen people so far. And it is off to Germany for the next exciting adventure for the Wardens. Even though this story is short, there are a few scenes of action and still plenty of steam before ending in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.

A Christmas story, even though this group doesn’t celebrate it they help a gnome in need. Wolfgang appears and asks for help to get rid of a monster posing as Knecht Ruprecht, a sidekick to Saint Nicholas according to German folklore. It’s a short fun story that allows the group to indulge in Macey time and kick monster butt….the monster is a sibling of the Mahoun.

This is a very short story with a Christmas theme. I loved the character Wolfgang, he was cute. Macey and her men must defeat Knecht Ruprecht, the punisher of children. He is a German legend who follows St Nick and punishes bad children. He has been brought to life and must be destroyed. I enjoyed the book.

This is a short story featuring Macey and her mates and it was a really fun read that, whilst there is still some serious news reaching them, is a nice break from the intensity of the series up. Whilst it may be short it is definitely no less entertaining for the length and the authors have managed to pack a whole lot of punch into this pages and all of it good.

This is a sweet story! It is a little break for Macey and her men. It is Christmas time and the Wardens are on another mission. This time it is to save Christmas for Germany. There is something strange going on in Germany. Knecht Ruprecht has come alive and may ruin Christmas. The clock is ticking. Will they be able to save Christmas?

This is a short Christmas style story in the Seven Wardens series, which can easily be read on its own any time after book five, or at the end of the series, if preferred. The Wardens get a mysterious visitor disguised as a normal garden gnome, which those who have read previous books will know of, who has come to ask for their help. From his home in Heidelberg, Germany, an evil part of the Christmas story has become real and is killing people. The being is part of the German folklore and would normally accompany St Nick, and while good children could expect their shoes to be filled with presents and treats, while this other being would be there to punish those who have been bad, with a switch and large stick. Unfortunately, the being is taking the punishments to the extreme and killing people of any age.
The Wardens have an extremely steamy session in hotel room, with a Jacuzzi bath for some and lots of beds all pushed together to fit her and her men, having left Amber and Izban behind for this one. Like the dark blobs and the Mahoun they have already faced, this being is fuelled by the thoughts of thousands of children and the folklore tales and songs of the season. Macey still hasn’t quite had a chance to have a break with her numerous men, with one thing after another being piled on her plate, but maybe they will get a few days off to explore and relax, after sorting this latest deadly problem. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I loved this short story from the Seven Wardens series. Macey and her men go through a lot of adventure, partly through battling issues, and partly from sexy, steamy fun times. I could not put this book down once I picked it up. I was practically devouring the pages to find out what happened. This short steamy read had a great story line and I already was in love with the characters. Now I’m eager to get to the next book in the series. This is a definite recommended read!

This book is a short story that takes place between books 5 and 6 in the Seven Wardens series. It doesn’t have to be read as part of the series but it’s a fun, steamy holiday read about Macey and her men. Macey’s hopes for a quiet Christmas with her men are ruined when a garden gnome shows up on her doorstep asking for her help. What’s a girl to do but to hop through the Staran with her men and help, she’s one of the Wardens after all.

I first read about kelpie shifters in another author’s series. I really enjoy reading about supernatural beings from other countries. Learning about their mythology is fascinating.
Plenty of adventure and steamy scenes between the main characters. This is one of 9 books but they are small enough to put into one outstanding novel. I found the characters enchanting and easily liked or disliked depending on the character. Another great series.

A spicy Christmas romp. As much as we think Macey deserves a break trouble is on the loose and she is needed to head it off before further mayhem ensues. Macy still manages to spend time with her fab 5 heating up their hotel room. If you like a hot sexy holiday read this is a book for you.

The holidays can be challenging under the best of circumstances, but our heroine’s life is rather topsy turvy all on its own.
This is book 5.5 of the series, a spinoff. It works just fine as a standalone, so it can be enjoyed in any order.
This is a paranormal romance story with a heavy dose of Scottish folklore. The story is well written and easy to read as I would expect. The characters and setting are also well developed and quite intriguing, almost as much fun as the plot itself. I particularly liked the Scottish elements seeded throughout. This book includes an extra dose of humor which is in keeping with a nice holiday story. All together, this made for a fantastic read and I look forward to reading more of the series.
Highly recommended.

All Macey wanted was a quiet Christmas with her men. But a gnome brought distressing news from Germany. Macey and crew head out to Germany to stop St. Nick’s helper from causing to much pain. Macey and her men do get some special time in the jacuzzi. This is a wonderful fantasy and paranormal romance during the Christmas season.

Even Christmas doesn’t come without complications for kelpie shifter Macey. Her dreams of a quiet evening with her men are shattered when disturbing news arrives from Germany. Macey and her men have to go to Germany to save children from Knecht Ruprecht, Saint Nicolas loyal servant who has started to run amok and leaving several dead in his path.
I do not want to say much more since this is a short story. Oh yeah… surely there are some steaming hot scenes in this story.
A steamy standalone Christmas story, part of the complete Seven Wardens series.
