(Book 1 of 2 in the Belonging Duet)Enough. That single word is all I’ve ever wanted to be. Enough for someone to stay for. Enough for someone to love and cherish, but I’ve been burned every time.Except at my job.I thrive there. In my office, I have the ability to fix things and command situations.Until my new client walks in.It shouldn’t matter that he fills out a suit better than any man I’ve … fills out a suit better than any man I’ve ever seen. His dimples and blue-green eyes shouldn’t call to me on every level. I know men like him and they’re dangerous to trust.
But Jackson Cole is irresistible.
The pain of the past disappears when he’s around. With him, I’m more than enough, and I break every rule about dating a client.
I fall desperately in love with him—only to realize I should’ve trusted my instincts because I’m no one’s beloved …

I love this book. I don’t want to say too much about the plot, but it’s not like anything I’ve ever read before. I’d say it’s equal parts tragic and scary. They made a movie , but the book is so much better. Highly recommend!
I think ‘Beloved’ is one of the most extraordinary books I have ever read ! Set during the time of slavery in the US, it challenges you at every turn. It forces you to reconsider your standpoint on so many issues but the main plotline is so absorbing, the book never becomes ‘preachy.’
Very difficult to follow. The Author is a great writer and I’ve heard great reviews on this classic but I was not overly thrilled. Will attempt to read again. Maybe at the time I just was not in the mood.
Beloved is certainly worthy of all its praise, recognition and accolades. Toni Morrison never disappoints, but I still love The Bluest Eye and Sula a bit more.
Hands-down still one of my favorite novels. The writing comes alive in this one, beautifully melancholy.
Riveting and demanding, in an excellent way. Morrison writes a stream-of-consciousness sequence that is masterful.
My first encounter with this beautiful novel was when I was studying at the University of Limerick in 2014. I took a class called ‘Contemporary Women’s Writing’, where we read different novels – Possession by A S Byatt, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, a collection of short stories by Angela Carter, and this novel. I remember breezing …
Exciting
Tragic and heartbreaking, unforgettable.
In my top 10 books of the hundreds I’ve read in my life.
This Beloved book is extremely unique. it took me three attempts to actually proceed further into the book. It was easier to bow out–yet so many people that I respected loved this book. I am delighted to have read it completely and happy to recommend this book to any reader that enjoys working with the author to jointly enjoy the story!
Through the character of Sethe, Morrison investigates the tragic, true-life events surrounding an ex-slave named Margaret Garner. The institution of slavery becomes magnified through a heinous act of violence that haunts Sethe throughout her life. The novel examines Sethe’s psychological wounds as she struggles to find strength to counteract the …
I could never get into it. It’s probably just me.
One of the top ten books I’ve ever read
I recommend it to be well rounded but I didn’t really like it that well. Just a personal thing I guess.
Beloved
Toni Morrison is a fantastic writer.
Morrison brilliantly utilizes the paranormal trappings of genre fiction to parse the effects of slavery and white supremacy on black women and their families. It’s a difficult book to read both in it’s content and it’s delivery but perhaps more powerful than any other book in the American canon.
one of the best ghost stories ever written
Tomi Morrison is truly One of America’s greatest literary talents! A must read!
This was an interesting but upsetting read. Historical fiction, wirthwhileand yet like reading James Baldwin or Ralph Ellison, you know that many elements are based on true events of that day. Morrison takes you a little way into the mind of the characters, but at times like with Baldwin you get a bit lost, not able to distinguish the thought …
