LostAll my life, it seems, I’ve made mistakes. Once, I lost everything. Failure seems to follow me around.I didn’t spot what a snake Snake was—he had planned a mutiny right under my nose. Yeah, he did well when he appointed me as his VP. I followed him blindly, never suspecting a thing. Now Snake is dead and I’m the prez. I still spend my days doubting myself, but I’ve got the whole MC depending … got the whole MC depending on me. If I get it wrong, it won’t just be me who goes down.
Then I meet her, a woman who needs me to keep her safe. I should warn her to stay far away, tell her I’m not a man she should lean on. I’m not a person to trust when I don’t have faith in myself.

Being Lost is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series. While you can read this as a standalone, you will have a better reading experience if you’ve read Ink’s Devil (Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #5) to get some foundation for the characters in Being Lost.
I have read many of the Satan’s Devils books and have really enjoyed the author’s ability to weave real life issues into her writing in a way that engages your emotions. That being said, this book did not grab me as much as the others. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great read, it just didn’t have the same intensity as the other books.
I did enjoy the fact that the characters in this book are older and that the author addresses finding love in later adulthood. That’s something you don’t see too often. I’m also enjoying the bit of mystery that has started around who is shadowing the MC.
Overall, great read!
Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1)
By Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Being Lost (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1) by Manda Mellett. It is a story that had me hooked from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. It is a story that includes romance, suspense, danger, mystery, brotherhood, and family. I loved reading about the characters of Lost and Patsy. Lost is the Prez of the San Diego chapter of Satan’s Devils. He is also a man that has doubts about himself and is haunted by what he sees as mistakes from his past. How could he ever ask for someone to trust him when he doesn’t have faith in himself? Patsy made a painful decision in which she had to make a new life for herself. When danger appears so do the Satan’s Devils. She needs protection and to be kept safe. Will the one man who is Lost be able to provide both? What does the future hold for Lost and Patsy? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. It also had my emotions going up and down the entire time. This is an author who knows how to write MC club books and this is just the next amazing example. I love reading about all of the characters in the Satan’s Devils club as well as those who interact and are part of their day to day lives. Other characters have evil plans and agendas that need to be stopped. Will they? This book had some twists that I didn’t see coming. This is a story that I would highly recommend reading.
This was my first reading of Manda Mellett’s work and I am so glad I did! I loved it so much I read the next three one right after another. You learn about Lost the prez of the Satan’s Devils MC: San Diego, his current and backstory and then finding about the world Patsy and her son came from and watching how everything unfolds was such a treat. Spicy and suspenseful! A fantastic read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good MC read!
Being Lost is the first book in this riveting series about the San Diego chapter of the Satan’s Devils MC. I can’t get enough of the way that Manda Mellett paints such a detailed and realistic picture of her fictional worlds and takes the reader along for the ride. This story has many different mysterious plots and aspects that slowly unfold throughout the book, which keeps the reader on their toes. Lost is certainly one sexy Silver Fox and it was exciting to get a peek into his head and watch his transformation throughout the book, from an unsure man that is always second-guessing himself to a much stronger character, as the relationship between him and Patsy develops. You’ve got to love when a good woman brings out the best in her man. I can’t wait to binge-read more from this talented author!
Manda Mellett is new to me, and I’m so happy I found her. Needless to say I have already started a stock pile to play catch up. A good MC series is few and far between, but her series is just amazing across-the-board. Lost and Patsy have an amazing story. I love that it’s a love story that shows even with age true love can still always be found. Patsy is a fierce mama bear who protects her cubs at all costs and has more strength then she knows. Her and Lost meet when his MC sends him to keep watch for her son and her. The action, danger, and romantic chemistry are at a all time high. It shows an MC family never backs down, And a biker always gets his old lady.
Lost has doubted himself ever since his failed marriage. Then he gets thrown into being Prez. He doesn’t understand his worth.
Leave it to Patsy to make him understand his brother’s have trusted the right man to be their Prez and they are 100% the right club to help Patsy as well.
The whole club is invested to ensure the family sticks together and has a strong future to grasp.
I fell in love with Lost!! I love a book that has us middle age people finding love. The story line keep me reading way into the night as I could not put this down. If you have never read a MC book I woud suggest this on my Manda to be your introduction in this world. Her characters are ones you love and ones you love to hate. I don’t want to give anything away but I think the bad guy got off way to easy!
Manda Mellett does not disappoint. This is the second book of hers I read, and once again, the characters are flawed, relatable, and complex. It’s easy to get Lost (see what I did there?) in the world of bikers that she builds. I loved that the MC’s were older. I love the close bonds of family and friendship that exists between the members of the Satan’s Devil MC. The mystery was intriguing, and the character and story development was exciting to experience. My only problem is now I think I will need to read her entire collection… Oh no, there goes my TBR!
This is my favorite Manda Mellett book so far, but I have a feeling she will keep surprising me. Everything, the characters, the plot, and the action sequences seemed so real. Lost, man, I loved Lost. I have dealt with that voice in my head and could totally relate. It will be a while before I forget his character’s story. I loved the way the MC was kind of dragged into the situation instead of being in it to begin with. I also loved that the hero/heroine are older. I enjoyed the fresh perspective and being reminded that growing old isn’t the end of new relationships or new experiences.
This is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC. I really got into the book from page one. The characters jumped off the page for me. Lost having taken over as president from a backstabbing prez that tore the MC in two, finds that he is more prepared and ready to lead then he thought he was.
Patsy is moved with her son as part of a witness protection order. Due to a message from an unknown source, the MC moves into protect Patsy and her son from danger as they investigate what is going on. Can Patsy and Lost come together and find love amid all the turmoil? I love the ride that Manda Mellett takes me on, a page turner for sure!
I have read a few of Manda Mellett’s series but I have to say that the San Diego chapters are some of the best by far. Being Lost was such a good start, I couldn’t put it down. It was such any easy read for me kind of like pulling out my favorite jean jacket in the fall, or watching a rain storm in the fall, it was calming and relaxing with just the right amount of edge. As usual Ms. Mellett’s characters are wonderful, her scenery descriptive, and her story line intriguing. So if your looking for a great series to read I highly recommend Ms. Mellett’s San Diego chapters.
Wow, Author Amanda Mellett….this book was just….. WOW! Lost is a leader and questioning if he is truly worthy or good enough…..then Patsy comes into the picture. Both character’s have not very good past marriages, but overcome. Lost must protect Patsy and her son, then eventually Lost and Patsy through the twists and turns love…. I especially love the maturity on this book with the characters being a little older and mature….definitely loved this book and I cannot wait to continue to dive into more of this series!
Book Review: Being Lost
Author: Manda Mellett
FIVE STARS
From beginning to end of this book I was enamoured with Lost. His demons that haunt his every thought, his desire to not screw up anything. His desire to please and protect those around him. His story from the beginning was so fantastic.
Patsy is a mom first and foremost and her kids are he reason for being, I identify with Patsy so much. I cannot imagine having to not only CHOOSE which child I am going to stay with and not be able to contact the other EVER again. That is just torture of great proportions.
The way that Lost handles and leads the men of the Satan’s Devils MC is just admirable. That he is so worried about failure and disappointment that he takes the time to think things through before they go off on a mission. It was awesome seeing how well he lead them into their missions.
I loved this book and I am looking forward to learning more about the Satan’s Devils.

Follow their stories in this motorcycle club romance with a mystery of its own.
Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 by Manda Mellet was a book that I never thought that I would find myself reading. A book about bikers was never at the top of my reading list, however, I became so engrossed in the lives of the characters that I could not put this book down. I quickly became intrigued with Lost and the rest of the characters in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego chapter of bikers.
Lost is a man, who really is lost. He lacks confidence in himself and always feels as though he is letting everyone down. Lost feels as though he is a complete failure and that he ruins everything he touches. When he is voted in as Prez for the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego he fears that the members of the chapter will see him for the loser that he is and that he will let everyone down.
Then Lost meets Patsy, a woman who needs protection from a powerful drug lord named Archer, a man who has vowed to kill Patsy at the first chance he gets. Lost is put in charge of protecting Patsy and this one task turns into something that neither Lost nor Patsy were ever expecting. Lost and Patsy are immediately not only attracted to each other physically but are drawn to each other on an emotional level. Neither of them expected to find love this late in life. Suddenly, both of their lives are forever changed as Lost vows to keep Patsy safe at all costs.
Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 was a powerful read that gave me a whole new insight into the lives of both male and female bikers. The characters were ones that you feel that you could get to know more personally, and you are drawn into their world. This book was full of action, suspense, violence, love, lust, anger, betrayal, and most of all the journey of self-discovery. This book is a must read!
Let me just say that the models picked for the covers of these books are HOT and fantastic eye-candy. As an older reader, I love these older characters such as Grumbler and Lost, they definitely pull in the ladies. I never knew an MC could be so intriguing to pull me in. Lost is so conflicted due to troubles in the past. When the Pueblo MC chapter asks for help keeping Patsy and Connor safe, Lost gets intertwined and is attracted to Patsy. Patsy is trying to keep Connor safe but is troubled because she misses Beth, her daughter. The two are trying to work on their relationship, the danger, and balancing his work. Can they do it? Again, the author knocks my socks off. Fan for life here.
Manda Mellett never ever disappoints!! It’s just that simple! If you think you know what to expect from a MC novel throw those ideas out right now and read every Satan’s Devils book you can find. You will be fully invested in every single character from start to finish. My heart went on such a rollercoaster ride!
Being Lost is a fantastic book filled with drama, heart and emotion. I loved that the main characters, Lost, the club president of the San Diego Chapter of the Satan’s Devils and Patsy, the mum of an Old Lady from another chapter, were older than you really see in a lot of novels. Finding love in most books is left to the young it seems but not this time and I love that.
Lost is asked to look out for Patsy and her son by the Pres from the Tucson chapter (the mother chapter of the Satan’s Devils) and when her situation takes a dangerous turn Lost takes her protection on and in doing so falls and falls hard, even while fighting his own personal demons and wondering if he is truly worthy. His vulnerability spoke volumes to me as most readers would automatically assume him to be a very strong and maybe hard character simply because he is a club president.
Story twists and turns will keep you captivated but most of all the heart of the characters will draw you in!
Yet another absolute smash hit by Manda Mellett. This book to be repetitive is still amazing!! I love the danger, romance, smut, character development, and world building of this book. I can honestly say there were a decent amount of times where I felt like I was watching a Netflix show because this book is just that well written. I highly recommend this book on ever level.
After Pasty’s ex husband dies, and her youngest son fesses up to all of the illegal activity behind his father and his uncle. The safety of Pasty and Connor is compromised, leading the only option to be witness protection – but also protection from Satan’s Devils as well. We follow Pasty as she not only tries to protect both of her children, but also finding herself with a very large emotional challenge when it comes to the chapters president Lost. As danger rises Lost’s only option is to move Patsy and her son onto the compound and just in time. Lost and his MC begin to investigate just how they can get Alder off of Patsy’s trail. Through trial and error and a decent amount of teamwork everything seems to work out in the end, or does it? As everything takes a sharp turn when things are taken out of Satan’s Devils hands.
I adored this story so much! I love Lost and Patsy. This story is just enough action and romance anyone could want. I love that their relationship isn’t typical. They are both older in age , but together they act like teens. I love patsy and her strength. As a mother it hits close to home. When she had to protect her kids, Lost stepped up and protected her. I could not recommend this more. I’m so ready to read the next one!!
Manda Mellett did it again with Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC #1! I ate this book up and left no crumbs. As soon as i submit my review I’m starting the next book in the series.
I have to be honest- anytime i read books with older main characters- older meaning could have grown children! I have a toddler so I’m not there just yet (; – i put the book down. I just can’t make myself read it (same with high school age characters!) What I’m trying to say is that this book had me break my habits and I’m glad for it!
Anyway! The characters, the mains being Lost and Patsy, were incredibly relatable. The storyline was believable and sucked me in. I’ve been a fan of MC books for awhile now and she’s easily becoming my favorite MC author. On to the next one ya’ll!
