Some houseguests are more enticing than others… brother’s little sister. And she wants Kiki to do the seeing. Her new internship provides the perfect opportunity. Plan in motion, she’s not going to let their close living quarters go to waste.
The arrangement is supposed to be temporary, but as they grow closer a permanent change of address might be in order.

This was such a fun novella. And HOT. I adored Kiki and Charley. I LOVE the big-brother’s-best-friend trope and it was executed perfectly here. Kiki is so serious and careful and sweet, and Charley is so the perfect, questioning, take-the-bull-by-the-horns, cheeky tornado that she needs. The storty is so fun and again, super hot. I just loved this so much!
Kiki may not have planned it but her invitation to help her best friend’s little sister turned into a full-service adventure. Charley wants to be noticed as more than Kenneth’s little sister and boy does she accomplish it. Between her panties with sayings and her B.O.B., she most definitely gets noticed. It’s been a while since I’ve read or listened to a strictly f/f book and this was a good one to break the dry spell.
Phoenix McKay did a good job narrating.
Story: 4 stars
Narration: 3.5 stars
I really enjoyed this audio. I haven’t read many FF books but I have been wanting to dive more into them since I love ALL aspects of love. MM romance books are my favorite. I have a feeling FF will be coming a close 2nd. Charley and Kiki were so magnetic together. I love the best friends little sister trope and having this as FF made it even more interesting!
This was my first Meka James, and one of my first F/F Romance. This is the first book in the Desert Rose Hook-ups Series. Kiki and Charley’s story is fast-paced, sweet, and sexy. This subgenre is very different than what I have read before, and I was intrigued to listen to it. If you like F/F Romance, you should like this short novella. Phoenix McKay did a good job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. #AudiobookObsession #PinkFlamingoProductions
Being Hospitable by Meka James is a Lesbian Erotica that I listened to on audio narrated by Phoenix McKay.
This is the first book of Meka’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I liked that it was a quick erotic tale but with some actually storyline. I really liked both Kiki and Charley.
Phoenix did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life.
I would recommend this book if you like Lesbian Erotica or Erotic stories.

One thing there quite simply isn’t enough of in this world is good lesbian romance novels. It’s a highly under-represented genre, and one I personally adore. But as we all know painfully well, there’s also a lack of access to authors of color, even in genres positively crying for more quality voices. So to stumble across a phenomenal #wlw story with two well-written Black female leads also written by a Black American woman? Well, I was basically salivating for a taste. And quite the delicious morsel Being Hospitable by Meka James proved to be.
I fell hard and fast for both Kiki and Charley. They are such spunky, well-developed characters. I can sympathize with Kiki so hard (as a nurse, we lead similar hectic and crazy lives/schedules) so reading about her sleep challenges and exhaustion just really hit home for me. I can’t even begin to imagine waking up to Charley’s bouncy, beautiful butt dang near half-naked in my kitchen, even following a good night’s sleep.
But it isn’t just that. These two, despite being written into a novella, are extremely well-rounded characters. Their story and character arcs weave together beautifully to create a true page-turner that will have you skipping potty breaks because you just must see how they handle the next moment together. It’s just one of those stories that carries you with it from page one to done and you don’t even realize you haven’t looked up from your e-reader in 2+ hours.
I recommend this to all lovers of romance, but especially those looking for a quality FF romance with wonderfully diverse and realistic characters that’ll suck you in and leave you wanting more, more, more!
I don’t read a lot of F/F romance but this book is hot. It is a quickie at about 70 pages and I would say something you could read over breakfast but I started it and ended up skipping breakfast. Then rushing to shower and get out of the door. Its fun and flirty and yes steamy! It also has enough content that it pulls at your heartstrings. Truly enjoyed it.
I am a fan of Meka James and was so happy to grab this sexy, fun novella for a weekend read. BEING HOSPITABLE is the story of Kiki and Charley, friends-turned-roommates, who soon figure out that there is something more between them. Their story kept me turning the pages and fanning myself—hot, hot, hot! Highly recommended for lovers of short, sexy, f/f romance!
Being Hospitable is a BWBW story of KiKi and her new roommate Charley that happens to be her best friend’s little sister. The novella is very well done and the romance is hot. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Hospitality with a kiss. Charley is Ki’s best friend sister. She needs a place to stay for her internship. Ki and Kenny, the brother have been friends for so long, she agreed in order to help Charley save money and to help her focus. Little did she know that one thing could lead to another when tired, and believes she is getting mixed emotions and signals from Charley. HEA, no cliffhangers or cheating. Steam created for the adventure of reading.
