Their connection can’t be denied but Claudia has a hard time trusting and right when she lets her barriers down drama happens that puts walls up between them. Will Claudia take another risk for the opportunity of having a forever love with Cole? I voluntarily agreed to receive a copy of this book for an honest review.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Arc.
Claudia became CEO and President of Atherton Diamonds since her father retired. Cole wanted to invest in Atherton Diamonds but at first was she didn’t trust Cole even if he was her brothers friend. Everyday Claudia and Cole have breakfast morning together but, Cole didn’t show up on time. Cole spends the night with Claudia and in the morning she see a text on his phone from her competitor. She flew into a rage because she could this believe she let him in her life and this is what happens
I like how Claudia handles the business professionally and how dedicated she is in their family business. The way how she treats Cole as their potential investor even if he’s a frat friend of her brother from College is a proof of it. Also, I could understand her character of not wanting to owe from someone cause I, myself hate it too.
On the other hand, I love Cole’s positive character. His curiosity is very attractive, not to mention he’s knowledgeable in business despite of his appearance who look like not the kind of man who had millions of dollars lying around. The moment he said these lines makes me want to be the heroine:
Love the storyline! Amazing characters! Absolutely a 5 star read!!!
The art of gentle persuasion from a patient man works its wonders on a strong, career-driven woman in author Molly Sloan’s “Beholden to You”. Claudia Atherton is deeply devoted to running her family’s jewelry business with the utmost care and respect for the status of the Atherton name. Her work is not just her profession–its her life. When an investor shows interest in the company, Claudia is fully prepared to handle the business meeting, but she is thrown for a loop emotionally when the investor turns out to be her brother’s old college friend, Cole Bennett. Claudia had always thought of Cole as pleasant and laid-back–not as someone who would be business-sharp and well-funded enough to become a financial player. Cole has become a success in his own way and by being his own man, and that man has always cared a great deal for Claudia. Now that life has come full-circle, the time is right for Cole to make his move to unite the Atherton and Bennett names in business. It’s also time for him to claim the woman he has loved for so long and bring their two lives together as one. He will use all the patience, kindness, and sweet temptation in his power to make Claudia see the light–he has waited too long to give up now. Despite her best intentions to remain totally professional, Claudia can’t help falling for Cole–but can she trust him, not just with her business, but with her heart and her life? I really enjoyed this “Billionaire Romance” from author Molly Sloan, and I look forward to reading more of the books in this series.
I liked this book, the characters were well described. Claudia and Cole are well suited to one another. Cole is calm, patient, which heneeds to be with Claudia who is a bit over the top paranoid about his motivation to help her to expand her family’s diamond business. I found the role reversal very refreshing. that the billionaire and CEO was in fact Claudia, rather than an alpha male. Molly is always adventurous to introduce motives into her stories that are out of the mainstream. Claudia desperately needs to be loved but is too afraid to let anyone in, including Cole, who in fact was smitten by her for years. The book is edited to a very good standard. I love happy endings and both Claudia and Cole deserve to finally find each other.
I was given an advanced copy to read and my review is voluntary.
Molly Sloan is a new author for me, but based on her Beholden to You: A Billionaire Romance, I’m promising myself that we will become well acquainted. This is a beautifully written story about how opposites attract, how there is no single “right” path towards a career or life in general, about taking chances and opening one’s heart to potential and so much more. It’s leads, Claudia and Cole, are fully flushed out and genuine. There’s no artificial plot twists, no cheating or great misunderstandings, just ordinary life (though in a well done business context) and realistic interactions. Also a great supporting cast (especially Claudia’s brother Andrew and her family housekeeper / virtual second mom, Roberta / Bertie). This was truly a thoroughly enjoyable book. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
