Encounter the death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth in this culmination of the Jerusalem Chronicles. How could Jesus—who preached righteousness before God, and love and mercy toward neighbors—be so hated and pursued? To the Temple officials, he was a threat to the livelihood and authority of the priesthood. To Herod Antipas, he was a threat to his ambition to be the King of the Jews. And to … the King of the Jews. And to the Roman overlords, he was seen as a dangerous threat; a man who commanded an army of the common people. He could heal wounds, offer miraculous provisions, and even raise from the dead. If Jesus had accepted popular acclaim and become an earthly king, he would have been unstoppable.
Jesus’s last days are explored through three people who interacted with him: Governor Pilate, for whom Judea will either make or break his career; Pilate’s wife, Claudia, desperately seeking aid for her much loved, crippled son; and Centurion Marcus Longinus, caught in the middle between loyalty to the Empire, love for Claudia, and an ever-increasing belief in Jesus as the Son of God. After encountering Jesus, none of them will ever be the same.

I enjoyed the book and authors development of characters
Every book I have read by the Thoene team was an awesome reading experience, and when I see books written by them, I quickly download them. Their Biblical research and writing are a joy for me.
Such a blessing to read
the Thoenes never disappoint! I have read all their Biblical Novels I could find!
The last book in the Jerusalem Chronicles, Behold The Man, was such an eye opener for me. Set during the time of Christ’s earthly ministry, it’s written from a Roman point of view and had this theme, “What did Rome think of Jesus?” Honestly, every time I’ve read the gospels, it never occurred to me to ask what the Roman Empire thought of Christ. …
All of the Thoene books are exceptional. Brings the Bible characters to life.
Behold the Man concludes the Jerusalem Chronicles by Bodie and Brock Thoene. Despite being a long time fan of the Thoene’s this series did not meet my expectations. It began well with When Jesus Wept, a dramatic retelling of Christ’s friendship with Lazarus and the miracle in which Lazarus is raised to life. Take This Cup, was a drastic departure …
The book was hard to put down. The characters put an interesting perspective on what could have happened
Great story of events surrounding Christ’s last hours.
I enjoy finding more of what God has went through and how the world is to be. It is a shame for God to see this world down here going to Hell, but God tells us if we follow him we will have ever lasting life with him in Heaven.
I have yet to read a Thoene book that wasn’t more than worth the time.
I highly recommend the series by the Thoenes. They really open up our hearts to the people surrounding Jesus in his earthly ministry.
Good mix of fact and fiction. A good read.
Love these authors
Another great book from this author. I appreciate the imaginativeness of the writing, along with following the facts that have been verified.
Brock and Bodie Thoene’s books are always extremely well done. They do their homework on every book, and this is no exception. I love how they examine Jesus from different points of view.
I love anything written by Brock and Bodie Thoene. I especially like stories about Jesus.
Good read and true to Biblicaal account
Was riveted to my chair. Appreciated how the authors stayed true to scripture while adding enough “fluff” to make one imagine along with them how people of that era thought and hoped.
I. Love all of the Thorne books I have read. Love their style and all the research that goes into these books. Makes me feel like I am right in the midst of the story.
