Meet Noah Geren in this Brother’s Best Friend Romance
Dating my brother’s best friend? Yeah, that’s forbidden… idea of him go.
And it almost worked
Until that late summer night.
Shannon Smith.
My best friend’s sister.
The secret star of my late-night fantasies.
Hotter than sin.
Unattainable
There’s a code among best friends and teammates—no dating their sisters.
Too bad I didn’t listen.
One weak moment changed everything.
And nothing at all.
I’m not good for her.
They call me the sensible one,
But the more Shannon and I are forced to be together,
Staying away makes less sense,
And the reasons become hard to remember.
But I need to stay strong.
For reasons she’ll never understand.

This is the second book in the Cessna U Wildcats series and we finally get an answer to just what is between Noah and Shannon, and wow. First met me just say how much I love Noah and how my heart broke for him throughout this book. I really liked Braxton and Cara’s story but this book just had a little something extra special. I cannot wait to finally get my hands on Garret’s story, there are just so many questions I need answered.
**I did receive a free advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
Braxton has only one rule with his baseball teammates – no dating his little sister. As his teammate and best friend from a young age this is the one rule Noah tries to keep. This is only made difficult because he has loved Shannon forever. With one kiss the two embark on a journey that at times is the highest of highs and at others the lowest of lows. Never wanting to be a burden, Noah gives up his happiness for the sake of her future. But can true love prevail? Or will he not only lose the girl but his best friend too? I always thought Braxton and Cara were going to be my favorite couple but after reading this book they have been left in the dust. Kimberly Readnour has once again knocked it out of the ballpark with her beautifully written character and the emotion that just drips from each and every chapter. I have never wanted to hug the characters as much as I did while reading this book!!

Behind the Count
Cessna U Wildcats, Book 2
By: Kimberly Readnour
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett, Michael Gallagher
Kimberly Readnour bats another awesome new adult sports romance out of the park! This is this second book of her “Cessna U Wildcats” and it just as amazing as the first book was and just as captivating too, once I started the book I did not want to put it down. The author continues to create storylines and characters that are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored the two lead characters, Noah Geren and Shannon Smith, there is a lot of history between them, they know each other since they were kids. Noah was the boy next door and Shannon’s older brother, Braxton’s best friend. Noah and Shannon always clicked, even when they were younger they looked out for each other. Both are now students in Cessna University, Shannon crushes on Noah more than ever but there is one problem, Braxton would not approve, plus there is a no touch policy on team players sisters. But when circumstances bring them even closer their attraction to each other gets harder to deny. I loved how everything plays out in this book, there is a lot going on with each character and their story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt and emotional moments all leading to a wonderful friends to lovers romance. Kimberly Readnour, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
Sarah Puckett and Michael Gallagher are the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They are awesome at portraying the characters, grasping each role and making it their own. Sara Puckett was the perfect Shannon as was Michael Gallagher’s Noah. Sara was awesome with the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart both put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen

Noah and Shannon have had crushes on each other for a long as they have known each other but no one is aware. Noah is still a little sore about not being drafted in his draft year he is determined to focus on baseball this season and prove he is worth being drafted. Shannon loves fashion and has dreams of obtaining her fashion degree and the Glamour Project. The only thing standing in her way is her algebra credit. In the need of a tutor, she goes in search of one but the one she gets paired with is her ex. Noah seeing Shannon in tears and inquires into what happened. When she explains her algebra issue Noah offers to help her. Will they be able to keep their feelings hidden or will they surface and cause issues?
Behind the count is a best friend’s sibling college baseball romance in the Cessna U Wildcats series. I love a good best friend’s sibling story and this one did not disappoint. I was especially interested in this story as it focused on the catcher which is the position I played in baseball. Kimberly Readnour did a great job with the tension and secrecy part you see with this trope. Noah and Shannon’s attraction was hot and steamy once they no longer hid it from each other. I felt for both Noah and Shannon with regards to their medical issues and their fears regarding them. This is becoming my favourite trope and this is a must-read series for those who love baseball romances. Next up is Full Count and I can not wait to see what happens with Garret and Lexie and find out why Garret is so secretive.

This book hit it out of the park! Once again this author hits a homerun with this series. Sometimes you read a series and the first book is amazing, the the next one not so much – that is not the case in this one. This one deals with the subject of dating your sibling’s best friend. We met Shannon – Braxton’s little sister and Noah, his best friend in Swinging Strike. I knew then there was something going on with these two, and was so happy they got their story. Shannon has always had a big crush on Noah, and I believe Noah has always liked Shannon, but maybe didn’t really realize it. But Braxton has a hard rule that none of his teammates can date his sister. Noah follows that rule until he just can’t anymore. But will Braxton accept Noah and Shannon? Things really start heating up when Noah starts tutoring Shannon in algebra ( a hot and smart jock!!), they just can’t deny the feeling they have for each other anymore but Noah doesn’t want Shannon to be his dirty secret for long. I really don’t want to give away the book, but Uni and the bracelet are some of the sweetest things ever! Just proves that it is possible to meet the love of your life at a young age. I am loving this cast of characters and can’t wait to read the next one!
So this book takes on many levels. It’s more then just baseball and best friends little sister, it’s about what you really want in life and who you want next to you. Noah and Shannon are adorable together. The cute little crush that Shannon had on Noah as a child grew into so much more over time. She’s trying to be independent but it’s hard when everyone knows your brother and when your brother is extremely over protective of you. Braxton takes overprotective to a new level. Poor Shannon can’t do much without big brother finding out. Noah knows he can’t betray his best friend but he can’t stop his feelings for Shannon. These two both has issues to deal with that take a very serious talk to make sure things can continue between them. I loved how delicate the author handled this. It took some tough love but they managed to make it work. I swear these books keep getting better and better!!
Right from the beginning you can feel the attraction between Shannon and her childhood friend Noah. Since Shannon was his best friends sister (bro code and all) that helped keep that slow simmer burning just beneath the surface at least for him.
While Shannon, not immune to being so close to Noah all the time now that she transferred, is just trying to get through her math classes.
The twists and turns thrown at Noah and Shannon keep with the current times that life does not always go smoothly as planned, lending to the message of the importance living in the present.
I was so glad to see this story did not fade as some middle books in series sometimes do. It packed quite a punch and steam right through to the end! Sign me up for book 3!!
oh myi love Noah and Shannon . Noah doesnt do any serious relationship has he doesnt want to put a person he love thru what his dad put his mom thru. Shannon just alway had a a crush on Noah but he been Braxton friends, and now when she show bit interest in ther guy Noah show how possive he his toward her. Noah finaly acted on temptation but they decided to keep it secret from Braxton and he still keeping from Shannon his fear that he would have his dad disease …..will they be able to withstand all the stress off the secret of the relationship is cause thru the realionship ….hurry and get this book you wont regret
Noah has always been protective of Shannon. He is his best friend’s sister after all. But Noah has always felt a strong connection to her since they were kids. Shannon has had a crush on Noah for as long as she can remember. He might as well be a brother to her but they feelings she is getting are not sibling feelings. These two have an explosive chemistry and they can fight it all they want but why should they? Oh yeah, because there is no way Shannon’s brother is going to let her find love if he can help it.
Love the way this writer writes baseball. The injuries, the players, the game and more importantly the love of the game. This couple will have to decide if their life can survive all the curve balls these two face, now and in the future.
To love someone from afar for years. To have a fear you will be a burden. Such a great love story.
A best friends sister- forbidden romance, yes please. Hard to put down, a great all round read. This series is on a great run and I can’t wait for more.
Behind the Count is book 2 in the Cessna U Wildcats series. Shanon is Braxtons sister from book 1 in the series. Shannon has has a crush on Noah since she could remember but she hasn’t done anything about it. Noah is Braxton best friend. Braxton has a rule for his teammates, hand off his sister. This is a friends to lover story. We get to see how these two come over their hang ups and how they can be together with the obstacles that are thrown at them.
What an amazing book. This was my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed reading this book and I simply could not put it down. Great storyline and wonderful characters. Fantastic book and highly recommended.
Wow I have read books before about sibling best friends falling for each other, but this one was one of the best ones I read. I loved the way the author brought us in and let us see how everything unfolded. When things were tough and then when thing were on the right road then the biggest road block came into picture. Great story great read…
Shannon has a crush on her brother’s best friend Noah. Noah is older, sexy and alpha male. The fact that he’s friends with her brother puts things in the forbidden zone. Noah has thoughts of Shannon that are far from pure. He knows that there are some things you can’t have and your best friend’s sister is a big no zone. The two keep being thrown together and the sparks fly. A steamy, sports read.
I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am leaving a review.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one. Noah need a good kick in the butt though but he wised up in the end. Can’t wait for Garrett and Dalton’s books.
This is a Brother’s best friend and family friend to relationship! Shannon and Noah are the a back and forth on if they want to be together, however, they are worried about how Shannon’s big brother is going to react!
This is a must read and a great second book to the Cessna University collection! I cannot wait for the next ones!
I’ve always had a weakness for The brothers best friend genre. This one hits it out of the park. Their angst and wanting is so strong even if they try to fight it. They both have their own physical issues and they both cause themselves more pain than needed in the love department!! The ending is perfect and gave me just what I wanted!!
Behind the Count is my first Kimberly Readnour book and my first for Cessna U Wildcats series. I will definitely read the first book as i enjoyed this book.
I loved the story of Noah and Shannon and how they have know eachother since they were little children. The progress and spotlight as neighbours and Braxton’s best friend really built up the like-ability factor to the characterisation of our leads. I loved how they were as individuals, how they we together and their dynamic with others as well. Braxton was also a likeable character.
While the climax issues were not the most complicated, I did enjoy the build up of the story as Noah and Shannon go through the challenges of their own anxieties and personal issues to strengthen their love for each other. I felt angst, chemistry and love on a deeper level between these two characters.
I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
Kimberly Readnour knocked it out of the park w this one. I loved everything about it! It have me all the feels and i can’t wait to read the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book
