New Bonus Book Included: The Gift.Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of the making of a novel? I am a lover of Turner Classics Movies and find it fascinating to hear the announcer give tidbits of information about the actors before the movie, or tell what happened on set or even why the films were made at all. That got me to thinking about my own novels. So, I decided to share … decided to share insights that have to do with the creation and naming of my characters, the choosing of the settings, the intriguing situations, and just about anything that gives a deeper look behind the writing of the Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series.
In this book you will find an in-depth look at the development of the characters, a map that shows the location of each story, a family tree, explanations of my personal experiences and inspirations that gave birth to the book, excerpts from each book of the series, a plethora of colorful graphics, and at the end a brand new short story published nowhere else but here, called The Gift.
So sit back and enjoy some inside information as you discover all that went in to the making of The Legendary Bastards of the Crown Series.

Worth the read. Interesting to find out what goes into writing a series
I really liked this analysis of legendary Bastards of the crown because I understand the motivation behind each of the triplets stories. I highly recommend this book but only after one has read the legendary Bastards of the crown, seasons of fortitude and secrets of the heart series. One will understand the motivation behind each character better after reading each series.
This was a quick read. I enjoyed learning about where the Legendary Bastards of the Crown came from. I also enjoyed the story The Gift. This was a brief glimpse into the triplets lives, with a little more emphasis on Reed and introducing Imanie for a later series. Imanie informs Reed that he has a special gift, and one day, a daughter of his will as well. It was a touching moment when he accepted this information.
I received an ARC of this story, and this is my unsolicited review.
If you have wondered where these wonderful characters and series begin, step into the mind of author, Elizabeth Rose as she walks us though the start of the series of books beginning with Bastards of the Crown books.
I really enjoyed the descriptions of the Triplet Bastards, Reed, Rook and Ross. Where she got her inspiration for them and where they took her to create such wonderful stories.
I have loved each story, First the Bastards stories, then their sisters in the Seasons of Fortitude, then the Secrets of the Heart, their firstborn daughters’ stories.
The Gift, a short story at the end, was good too. Reed, Rook and Ross are at the Christmas celebration and to pay their respects to their grandmother on her death.
This is a great story and I hope Elizabeth Rose will continue to open up to her readers with the backgrounds on her other characters.
Unique
A unique perspective behind the scenes. Gives the reader authentic background for the books. Details otherwise missed come to life
I really loved this book that gave tidbits on Rook, Reed and Rowen, it made me want to go back and read their stories. Also the bit about the authors research and her thoughts really add to the stories. Very informative.
If you like the behind the scenes shows on some of the movie channels like I do, you will enjoy this look into Elizabeth Rose’s Legendary Bastards of the Crown series. Not only does she let us see what went into creating this series, but includes interesting tidbits from the Medieval World. The map showing where the stories took place and the family tree were great additions to the series. For those of us who read the series, this is a great way to take a look back at the triplets and their adventures. It makes an excellent introduction of the series to new readers. I recommend the series and this look behind the scenes.
Behind the Chain Mail includes The Gift, a short story bonus. A Christmastide family gathering gives the triplets an opportunity to learn more about their birth mother. They visit the room where they were born and she died to show their respect for her. This is a heartwarming moment, especially for Reed. You’ll love it.
Have you ever wanted to know how an author came up with their characters and how they developed? Elizabeth Rose does just that with her Legendary Bastards of the Crown series. Whether you have read the series or not ( and I encourage you to read because they are great stories) this is a very interesting short read. Naming, creation and settings all come together with the story basis and Rose gives some insight into her thought processes.
