This is my first Beth Michele book, although I had Chasing the High sitting on my Kindle before I grabbed this one. I will now bump it to the top after reading this!
The premise of Behind His Lens was really intriguing and because I’m a big fan of the gay-for-you trope I was excited to dig into the story.
As I said there at the top, this novella is HOT. I mean the kind of hot where you want to make sure no one is reading over your shoulder while you have your Kindle out at lunch hot.
For the second time in his life Colt finds himself attracted to a man, and once again has no idea how to deal with his feelings. What was supposed to be one thing turned into so much more. Jake is someone Colt never saw coming, but he realizes this is one opportunity he can’t afford to let pass him by.
While I was a little bothered by Jake’s attitude at times, he ran really hot and cold and made me think there was something a little sinister going on there, there was no denying the pull between the two.
Smoking hot, oddly compelling, and totally engaging, Behind His Lens left me wanting more from these characters.
Wow! This was hot and sexy perfection!! A fun, quick and scorching hot read that will leave you panting and wanting more.
I was sucked into this story from the very beginning and it didn’t let me go until I finished reading the whole book. It was a quick read but it had everything I look for in a sexy book.
The characters were so loveable. I adored sweet Cole and loved Sean’s cocky attitude. Their chemistry was intense from the start on and had me fanning myself quite a few times.
The Story:
Cole wants to make Willow happy and does something he would never have done otherwise. Although not sure of what he’s doing, he sticks to his decision. But he didn’t count on the feelings Jake elicits from him just by his intense and scrutinizing gaze. When the heat gets too overwhelming Cole has to make up his mind whether to stay or to go.

Are you in the mood for a hot, quick M/M romance? Are you looking for some Man-on-Man action? This is the book for you. Keep in mind that it’s a novella, so the chemistry is quick and hot and the fun times start rather quickly, but it’s well written and the story works. It doesn’t feel rushed and I think that’s important. Some novellas feel rushed and inst-everything, but this one doesn’t. The author sets it up perfectly and it just works.
“Funny thing about my mouth,” he murmured, “it hasn’t touched yours in exactly five days. How do I know that, you ask? Because I’ve been thinking about your lips…and you, nonstop. I can’t seem to focus on anything else.”
Maybe I’m just a sucker for the M/M books or maybe I just love a good love story, either way, this fits the bill. Make room for your new #OneHandedRead!
