SOON TO BE A NETFLIX ORIGINAL SERIES The instant New York Times and #1 international bestseller. “You should read Behind Her Eyes…It’s bloody brilliant.” –Stephen King “An eerie thriller…Pinborough keeps us guessing about just who’s manipulating whom – until the ending reveals that we’ve been wholly complicit in this terrifying mind game.” –The New York Times Book Review Why is everyone … terrifying mind game.” —The New York Times Book Review
Why is everyone talking about the ending of Sarah Pinborough’s Behind Her Eyes?
Louise is a single mom, a secretary, stuck in a modern-day rut. On a rare night out, she meets a man in a bar and sparks fly. Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone.
When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake, but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise.
And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend. But she also just happens to be married to David. And if you think you know where this story is going, think again, because Behind Her Eyes is like no other book you’ve read before.
David and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife. But then why is David so controlling? And why is Adele so scared of him?
As Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise can’t guess how wrong–and how far a person might go to protect their marriage’s secrets.
In Behind Her Eyes, Sarah Pinborough has written a novel that takes the modern day love triangle and not only turns it on its head, but completely reinvents it in a way that will leave readers reeling.

My psychology teacher suggested me this book and I simply loved it. All the characters, the world-building was amazing. The ending is unpredictable. This was the second book that made me interested in Psychological thriller books and movies.
I saw this on a book feed right next to Alex Michaelides, so I figured I couldn’t go wrong reading this. Although when I went to search the book, everyone was recommending the show, which I didn’t know existed. Now I can watch that and rip it apart (or cheer it on). Louise is one of those characters that you don’t cheer for. She’s put herself into an awful position of her own making, and then she drinks herself daily about the problems that she created. Seriously, all she does is drink.
Adele, while endearing, is sketchy from the start. Was I the only one to get those vibes? I understand being in love with your husband, but her constant reaffirmation about it was just over the top for me. So here we are, with these characters that I’m lukewarm about, but I’m totally digging the vibe going on. It was a mash-up of creepy, twisty, messed up characters that worked, well. Things slowly creep upon you, and when you think you’ve gotten stable, there is more in store. You have to suspend some belief reading this, and I think that adds another fun element to reading it. Overall, Behind Her Eyes is a fun read from start to finish.
Holy Mind F*ck! Please excuse the strong language, but there is no other way to describe this book. In this murder mystery/love triangle/psychological thriller we meet single mother Louise, who forms relationships with both her boss and his bat sh*t crazy wife.
Let me be clear. Everyone in this book is a few waves short of a shipwreck. They drink too much, avoid responsibility, cheat manipulate, lie, and justify some downright weird behavior in the name of love. Throw into that mix some incredible out of body experiences, and you have a book that pushes boundaries. Not always in a good way.
Throughout the book we realize Adele is the one in charge of this train wreck, but the depth of her deceptions, and the lengths she goes to in order to hold on to the man she loves defies reality.
Behind Her Eyes takes the concept of the unreliable narrator and turns it on its ear. Everyone in this book is unreliable and I could cheerfully smack Louise. If she didn’t choose to drink too much wine to manage the stress of sleeping with her boss (who is her best friend’s husband) she might avoid her untimely fate. She might realize Adele is more than just regular crazy and going through strange doors in dreams can be dangerous. As for David, he isn’t exactly a prize winning keeper.
The saving grace of this book is its secrets. Who has them, what they are, and the shocking twist of an ending will keep the reader turning pages to a jaw-dropping end. I’d keep a bottle of aspirin on hand. You are going to need it.
WOW, the famous twist on this one is truly shocking!!! What a wonderfully, dark and twisted story. You’ll fall quickly into this story and will surly enjoy the twist.
Seriously one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read.
Holy crap! Hold on tight and be prepared for whiplash!
This book took me by the biggest surprise! It was just literally mind blowing! I absolutely love this one!
Have you ever read one of those books you know will stay with you for a long time? Possibly forever? If the answer is yes, then run, don’t walk, and grab this book. It is destined to be one of “those” books. If the answer is no, still….run, don’t walk, and grab this book. There are very few books out there that can still surprise me, but this is that book.
I actually read an ARC of this book some years ago. LOVED it. Read it in record time…thought I was on top of it…and then, like so many…BAM! didn’t see that ending coming. I recently watched the Netflix adaptation and remembered how much I liked the book. BTW Netflix did a pretty darn good job on this one. The few (very) changes in the plot were not bothersome to this reader.
I did not see the end coming. Loved it!
Intriguing read until the end completely ruined it
Pretty good up until the bizarre unbelievable ending.
Overall its a good entertaining plot line. Its pretty predictable about what is going to happen but I still felt compelled to finish reading it. The twist at the end was a little to out there for me but others may enjoy a more fantasy based twist then I do.
This book was very original in it’s concept. It took murder, mystery, infidelity and life’s little ups and downs and added a couple of extra twists in the end. I predicted one of the twists, but the last one really surprised me. I did not see it coming. Now if you are only looking for a “regular” mystery story, this might not be the book for you. If you are looking for something a bit on the edge of believable, read this book. Overall the story was well written with characters who were well developed. The chapters altered back and forth between past and present. It’s not often a story has a twist that completely catches me off guard. I’m glad this one did. I enjoyed the story.
WHA??!! I did NOT see that coming! It’s rare that a books ending leaves me speechless, mouth hanging open and mind officially blown. This was SUCH an enjoyable trip down crazy lane.
This book does require you to lose sight of reality for a bit but trust the author and just go with it. You’ll be happy you did and officially stunned when it’s over!
Bizarre, totally unbelievable. Don’t waste your time.
This author is very talented. The twists in this are rarely seen in fiction anymore. I really didn’t see what was happening until almost the very end. It will keep you guessing and make your mouth fall open with surprise and make you want to get your hands on her next book.
Part of my utter frustration with this book is that it COULD have been great. Truly. It was twisted and diabolical and you can’t put it down. The characters are unique and believable. It could have been great.
Instead it just came across as sloppy.
And that was the biggest disappointment of all.

I couldn’t put it down and the twist at the end is impossible to guess!!! Would definitely recommend if you want a fast paced read .
Was not expecting fantasy story ending, and therefore disappointing
