Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth; she has charm and elegance. He’s a dedicated attorney who has never lost a case; she is a flawless homemaker, a masterful gardener and cook, and dotes on her disabled younger sister. Though they are still newlyweds, they seem to have it all. You might not want to like them, but you do. You’re hopelessly charmed by the ease and … and comfort of their home, by the graciousness of the dinner parties they throw. You’d like to get to know Grace better.
But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are inseparable.
Some might call this true love. Others might wonder why Grace never answers the phone. Or why she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. Or why she never seems to take anything with her when she leaves the house, not even a pen. Or why there are such high-security metal shutters on all the downstairs windows.
Some might wonder what’s really going on once the dinner party is over, and the front door has closed.

A bit over the top, but still an entertaining book. There was definitely a piece that could’ve been omitted in my opinion, but I won’t spoil it for anyone.
Did not finish, didn’t grab me
This book is the definition of a page turner
Absolutely LOVED this book!! So many on the edge of your sit moments, and I was so intrigued that I literally could not put it down! Quick read but easily one of my favorite books now!
This book had me in thrall. I couldn’t put it down once I began to read it. It was driving my husband crazy. Jack and Grace seem like the perfect couple. He has looks and wealth; she has charm and elegance. He’s a dedicated attorney who has never lost a case; she is a flawless homemaker, a masterful gardener and cook, and dotes on her disabled younger sister. Though they are still newlyweds, they seem to have it all. You’d like to get to know Grace better. But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are inseparable.

Or why there are such high-security metal shutters on all the downstairs windows.
I loved the ending of this book. Overall it was a great storyline and had very dynamic characters.
Oh my goodness did I ever enjoy this book. I wish the author would write a follow up because I would love to see how the main character recovers from her ordeal. I could not put it down. I finished it this morning and have thought about it all day!
I received the author’s first book free and the mail and have been a fan since..Waiting for the new book coming soon.
This is B.A. Paris’s first book, but the second I have read (having finished The Breakdown a few days ago) and I have to agree with most reviewers that it’s better than The Breakdown (4 stars), and in fact, despite the first two chapters being a bit of an info-dump, it’s one of those fast-paced suspense novels that I could not put down.
The format, which alternates between Past and Present, is pitch perfect, and the premise deliciously creepy as the author gradually unveils what goes on behind the closed doors of a seemingly perfect marriage. Highly recommended.
A bit far fetched, predictable, and kind of evil.
*Spoiler alert –
Didn’t like the harming of dogs and her sister with Down’s Syndrome.
Excellent book, loved the characters and was hard to put down.
Loved this book!!! Payback can be unpleasant!!!!
It was a good read.
Behind Closed Doors is a gripping tale that draws you to reflect on relationships, marriage, and life. You will experience an emotional thirst to plot meticulously the characters’s escape and revenge. The ending led me on a psychological path that surged memories of someone who dealt with spousal abuse but nowhere near the darkness manifested by Jack.
Read it in one day!
In my opinion, it was incredibly hard to believe. As a woman with a brain in my head, I couldn’t believe the stupidity of the heroine. I wouldn’t recommend this book.
Wow! What a story! I am not sure how B.A.Paris is able to think up these psychological thrillers. Jack was such an awful character, and I would hate to have been the focus of his terrorizing. The book goes back and forth between past and present to fill in the story. This was great until some of the past scenes talked about events that were in the future, yet already occurred as a present chapter just a bit earlier in the book. I wrapped my head around it and I really enjoyed the book and was hoping for resolution for Grace. I couldn’t imagine living in her world.
Didn’t like it. Thought the clues were there before wedding and seems like she could have escaped.
My all-time favorite book.
This is a really good read I read this book in a day and a half hard to put down
