More interested in lug nuts than Louboutins, mechanic Andy Perris was on a motorbike before she could walk. When her overprotective father decides to hand the garage to her older brother, Andy must prove she’s tough enough to take over. The only thing threatening her victory? Matthew Mercy. Racing rival. Scorching hot distraction.Matthew only came back to Miami to bail out his little bro, who … bro, who borrowed money from the wrong people. Matt needs the quick wins of the illegal street races to pay off those debts. Andy gets under Matt’s skin, racing hard and fighting dirty, proving she’s dangerous competition.
Soon the young racers are revving each other up on and off their bikes. The rumbling of the engines is nothing compared to the way Matt makes her body purr between his sheets. Andy doesn’t calm his need for speed. She propels him and he craves more.
They’re in a race toward each other—or catastrophe. Maybe both.

** spoiler alert ** Matthew has always despised his last name. Andy is tired of men not trusting her abilities. From different sides of the tracks, but so alike. Will Matthew be able to escape his family legacy? Will Andy get everything she has dreamed of?
Loved the chemistry between these two characters! I loved how tough Andy was, but yet she had a softer side that she showed to those who were close to her. I loved how Matthew was determined to protect her despite what he was having to do. Great read!
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Tamara Mataya is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
I love that Andy rides too! When Matt realizes that is was Andy who just won their race he can’t help but be shocked, and insanely attracted to her! This is a high octane love story packed with family drama, a sassy mechanic who bucks traditions and the smoking hot guy who steals her heart.
Well, it happened. Some hot new guy has replaced Darko (from MAKE ME) and Draven (from MOONDREAMER: The Sowing) as my favorite leading man, and his name is MATTHEW MERCY.
Tamara has NAILED IT with BEGGING FOR MERCY, and I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Andy and Matt. But this isn’t just a book about a sexy love interest or blazing hot sex scenes–there’s a pretty intense story line that carries you along on a wild ride from beginning to end. Add to that Tamara’s wicked sense of humor and her ability to write a badass female lead, and BEGGING FOR MERCY is absolute perfection.
If you’re looking for a wild ride with a strong female lead and a smoking hot love interest, then BEGGING FOR MERCY will leave you begging for more.
As Uncle Jesse would say, “HAVE MERCY.” And then have him again and again. 😉
I believe this is my first time reading this author. She didn’t disappoint either! I was hooked from the very beginning. It has love, conflict, and suspense all in one that keeps you hooked until the very end. The plot was interesting and realistic to me. The characters were well-developed and easily relatable. I loved Andy as the feisty heroine. I can’t wait to read more from this author….
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book….
Talk about high octane! Matthew and Mercy fuel the pages of this story. Matthew is in town to make money to pay off his brother’s debts but encounters Mercy along the way. Her family doesn’t like him but she and Matthew are like fuel to an engine. With all the drama exploding around them, can Matthew step up his game to show just what he is made of and win the girl? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This is definitely a read that has plenty of steam to it.
The chemistry between the characters is off the chart .
There’s definitely a lot of action of all sorts.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

~ 3.5 – 4 Begging Stars ~
I found Begging For Mercy an enjoyable read, but I felt it was lacking that WOW factor for me.
I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I was intrigued throughout the story and the storyline kept me reading. I think my biggest problem with it was the amount of inner dialogue that went on. I would’ve liked more interaction between the characters. To me when there is that much it slows the pace of the story down. I think that is why I gave it the mixed rating.
What I found the most enjoyable about this book was the originality of the story. I haven’t read many books about bike racing before. I also liked the ‘bad boy’ vibe we get throughout the story. I always enjoy reading a story about a reformed bad boy and the girl that tames him.
In this book we follow Matthew and Andy. Andy isn’t your normal heroine. She is quite the bada$$. She was a strong female character and I loved that about her. She has had to prove herself over and over again, because she would rather be working with oil and bikes then makeup and shopping. Matthew has just come back to Miami after leaving to get out of the “family” business. He wanted to make a better life for himself, and he has done that, until he has to go back home to help his brother Luke. Torn between right and wrong and protecting his brother, Matthew doesn’t know what to do with his growing attraction to Andy. Not wanting to lead her into this type of life. Can they find their way together?? What happens when his brother’s problems get to big?? Will Andy and Matthew get their HEA??
Begging For Mercy is the first book in Tamara Mataya’s newest series. I thought this was a good start and I look forward to more books in this world. This book is a standalone novel told from Dual POV.
I would recommend this book to romance readers!!!
This was my first time reading a book by this author and it was a welcome surprise! I really liked that Andy was such a strong female character. Her and Matthew had a great chemistry! The storyline was interesting and it will definitely grab your attention right from the start.
The only reason I removed one star was because of the ending. Last couple of chapters felt kind of rushed and messy.
Overall, this was a fast paced read filled with bike racing, family drama and plenty of steam!
I will definitely read more from this author and can’t wait for the next book in this series!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
