In a city of sin broods an alpha tired of his past.Criminal defense attorney Marcus Hayes’ bedroom is empty, but he can’t bring himself to fill it. Years of casual encounters and heated play sessions with seasoned submissives have left him numb—and the older he gets, the more the lifestyle loses its allure. The change he knows he needs isn’t easy to come by. But change is closer than he thinks.… is closer than he thinks.
Beneath blinding strobe lights toils an omega eager for a better future.
Lucian Bracknell is finally free from the horrors of The White Lotus brothel, and for the first time in his life, he’s on his own. Independence means discovering who he is and redefining his relationship with the world, but when he lands a bartending job at The Shepherd, that world turns upside down. Behind The Shepherd’s bar counter, Lucian is untouchable, and ‘no’ is a drug he can’t get enough of.
Until his eyes lock with those of an alpha he’s not allowed to have, and those firm ‘no’s turn to whimpered ‘yes’s.
But forbidden desire this hot can’t be contained forever, and when the fires of their lust start to scorch, Marcus and Lucian will either have to succumb to the heat and face the consequences together, or burn with it until one of them falls on their knees and begs for relief.
Beg is a 60,000 word BDSM-flavored novel set following the events of Obey. While best enjoyed as a sequel, it’s packed full of enough sexting, bourbon, and rope burn to be enjoyed on its own.

I really love how Lucian is able to reclaim for himself what was taken from him. I also love Marcus’ integrity. I like to hope he would have turned down the case no matter what. There were a few missteps in communication as each man feels the other one and themselves out. It was a wonderful feeling to see them work together to move forward.
I listened to audio version and it was very well done.
This is the second book in the His Command series and follows Lucian Bracknell’s story. We first met Lucian in Obey, the first book in the His Command series, when he was being counselled by Owen. Lucian is one of the abused omegas from The White Lotus, an illegal omega brothel that was shut down by law enforcement in “Love Me”, the first book in the Rutledge Brothers series.
Lucian is finally finished with his counselling and is out on his own, ready to start his life over again. He gets hired at The Shepard, Aurora’s best BDSM club, as a bartender. Everything in Lucian’s life is going to plan until he meets Marcus Hayes, a dominant alpha that captures his attention. Marcus Hayes is a defense lawyer and dominant who’s bored with his life and needs something more. His something more turns out to be Lucian. The only problems it that Shepard members are not allowed to date Shepherd staff. But Lucian and Marcus can’t deny their attraction, and it’s not long before an intense romance blooms between them.
I loved this book. The writing and plot structure was done well, with a lot of significant improvements from the other books in this overarching omegaverse series. The sex scenes was hot, and the chemistry and love between Marcus and Lucian was sweet and spicy. Overall, this is a solid four star read for me.
Beg is the second book in the His Command series by Piper Scott. Oh Marcus and Lucian are steamy…. I also found a sweetness to them. The story definitely got my interest and held it. This whole series is one of my top favorites…
Loved this one! Piper Scott does an amazing job building this world and developing the characters. This is only the second omegaverse type book I’ve read, but it was so compelling, I read the entire series in record time! 5-heart loved it!
Poignant – Emotional – Engaging –
The connection between Lucian and Marcus was absolutely magnetic –
We are introduced to Marcus as a strong Alpha with a reputation for chewing them up and spitting them out – but will he be different with Lucian? Will he damage an already broken Omega or will he finally fill that void within?
Lucian is an Omega and has been severely abused since his teen years. He is just stepping back into the world and taking charge of his own decisions, it is a big step and not easy for him –
When he meets Marcus he feels a connection to him almost instantly – the question he needs to have answered is – Is it his old habits and training that is making him feel the submission and the fact he is an alpha? Or is it truly Marcus the man that has him wanting to drop to his knees and pledge his life?
