I need to end this. Before she finds out who I am. Before she gets hurt.

“Untouchable. That’s the way I see you. You’re the princess…to my beast.”
Sherilee Gray knows how to spin a tale that will raise your temperature. Whether it’s a villain or the passion making you #HOT, there’s no denying the heat.
I found myself very intrigued by this story. It was full of broken characters that shared a painful past and secrets with the power to ruin lives. I was totally invested early on and hanging by a thread as I waited and worried about the choices that could bring everything crashing down.
Mostly, I was totally enthralled by the unexpected meeting between the bitter tattoo artist and the guilt-ridden socialite. Her icy demeanor is a shield and she’s used to being judged by her appearance. Of course, her showing up at Rocktown Ink draws attention and it’s assumed that she must be lost, right? Why else would someone like her be there? Are you as curious as I was?
Needless to say, I was glued to my Kindle from start to finish. I could not stop reading until I had my questions answered and the steam had cleared from my reading device. I’m still fanning myself…sigh. I’m very excited that this is only the first installment in the series and I have more goodness to look forward to. The line forms here…
3.75 stars–BEG FOR YOU is the first instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult ROCKTOWN INK erotic romance series focusing on the Calero family who own and operate the tattoo shop Rocktown Ink. This is twenty-nine year old, tattoo artist and owner Joel ‘Cal’ Calero, and art gallery owner Cassandra Deighton’s story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Cassandra and Cal) BEG FOR YOU follows the enemies to lovers / opposites attract relationship between twenty six-year old art gallery owner Cassandra Deighton, and twenty-nine year old, tattoo artist Joel ‘Cal’ Calero. Ten years earlier Cal’s life was destroyed when an accident left him scarred, and the finger of guilt was pointed in his direction. Losing his family gave Cal thoughts of revenge, revenge he was about to impart using any means necessary. Enter Cassandra Deighton, a beautiful but badly scarred young woman looking to take back control of her life. What ensues is the building relationship between Cal and Cassandra, and the potential fall-out when the truth is revealed.
Cassandra had no idea her father was about to lose the family ranch. In an effort to save face, Cassandra is offered as ‘payment’ in return for saving the business and the Deighton family legacy. Cassie wants nothing to do with her father’s plans, plans that threaten all semblance of freedom for our story line heroine. Hoping to push the envelope, our heroine goes in search of someone with the ability to tattoo over her scars, scars burned into her flesh ten years earlier.
Joel ‘Cal’ Calero knew the moment Cassandra stepped into his shop, revenge was close at hand but Cal never expected to fall in love with the platinum blonde beauty, a woman he once thought of as an ice-cold and frigid. The relationship between Cal and Cassandra is predicted upon a lie, a lie of omission as Cal struggles with his attraction to the woman whose father he is hoping to destroy. Cal believes Cassandra is a spoiled princess, but Cassandra sees beyond Cal’s own scars and tattoos, sees the man with whom she will fall in love. Desperate for an escape to forget about life for a while, our heroine returns to Rocktown Ink for much more than her scheduled tattoo. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Cal’s younger brother Dane, and their cousin Logan aka Bull; Cassandra’s grandmother, her father Lyall Deighton, their neighbour Spencer Livingston; as well as Cassanda’s friend Ted.
BEG FOR YOU is a story of betrayal, vengeance, secrets and lies; a story of grief and loss; of retribution and revelations. The premise is dramatic; the characters are broken and energetic; the romance is steamy, sexy and hot. BEG FOR YOU is a spicy, sensitive, and spirited introduction to Sherilee Gray’s ROCKTOWN INK world.
Rocking new series
Cassy is trying to turn over a new leaf and attempting to drop her ice queen facade. Her first step in this attempt is going to a tattoo parlour across from her hometown. When she gets there she hesitates, but finally pushes through. Cal is the guy she is looking for…..but she gets more than she ever bargained for. Trying to escape what’s happening at home and guilt from the past, she finds something far more valuable Will she grab that happiness with both hands or do what is expected of her?
Loved this story and Cal and Cassy just broke my heart into pieces A great story and I can’t wait for more in this series Thank you to Sherilee for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review.
Surprisingly enjoyable story about another martyred heroine and her extra-studly humongo crush who happens to have a backstory related to her unknowingly through her dead drug abusing brother. Geez, that sentence looked Kristen Ashley wrote it. Oh well.
Essentially a revenge story gone wrong as the H falls TBI head over tattooed heels for the heroine. The revenge story gets derailed but not before some angsty betrayal scenes.
And can I say that this is one of the worst covers ever? The heroine looks like a Kartrashian reality housewife instead of the dainty, fey thing she really is. All that’s missing is the trowel to take off her makeup.
Oh, my gosh! I freaking LOVED this book! It may be my new favorite…at least of Sherilee Gray’s…or at least one of them. (Okay, “Breaking Him” and “Mountain Man” are still going to be strong contenders for that top spot, but this story is right up there with them!) I’ve enjoyed every one of her books since I stumbled upon the first one about a year and a half ago, but this tale was just exquisite.
From the moment of their first interaction, Cal has Cassy at a distinct disadvantage. Much of that is due to the fact that he instantly knows who she is, while she doesn’t recognize him from their shared past. But is also attribuable to the definite Beauty and the Beast vibe of their narrative. He is not only large, but covered in ink and scars; he definitely looks intimidating. Plus, there’s the aspect of her being this rather spoiled little rich girl visiting a tatoo parlor, of all places, on the wrong side of town. This is the first time that she’s been anywhere so far out of her comfort zone, and it completely unnerves her.
But, as we soon discover, Cal is even more undone by Cassy herself. Despite the advantage of size and strength that he has over her, she weilds a uniquely intense power over him. And for quite some time, she doesn’t even realize it. Right from the start though, the chemistry between them is palpable, and the love scenes are correspondingly HOT! Slowly, each comes to mean more and more to the other, even as they keep their secrets to themselves. Watching their relationship develop was delightful. Unfortunately, there were outside influences that negatively affected their relationship.
The villains in this story are quite apparent and show themselves early. They are so despicable that it made my skin crawl. That Cassy allows herself to be manipulated by either of them, regardless of (or maybe more because of) who they are, is just sad. I often found myself ranting at her to get a life and grow a brain and tell them where they could go. That’s when you truly know that a book has drawn you into its depths: when you starting talking to the characters as if they are real people. LOL!
There were other minor characters introduced as well who were not rude and irritating. Cal’s brother and cousin, in particular, and Cassy’s friend Ted. I’m hopeful that we’ll get to see more of them in future installments, and perhaps that some of them will even find loves of their own.
Cassy and Cal were perfect together!
He poured his pain into his art ~
She into her horses.
What an emotional and heartbreaking first in series.
The guilt, the lies, the facades…
They were from different worlds originally.
Both believing the stereotypes.
Both hiding their true selves behind false fronts.
Cassy’s life was a lie. A facade created to appease her father.
Under the ice queen exterior, she was an innocent ~ lost and drowning in guilt. She had dreams, she loved wholeheartedly.
Cal was fighting each day battling his own demons. Emotional and physical scars ~ reminders of a night that forever changed his future.
Cassy was put in a pretty tough position ~ Someone(s) wanted something from her and had no qualms using one of the few things left in her world that held any value as leverage to get it.
Cal was still searching for peace. Unable to let go of the past. He wanted payment for the crimes against him.
Spencer just made me queasy.
Dad… well the man needs to get his priorities straight!
Bull and Dane?
I want their stories!
I enjoyed the dual perspectives. A bit of speculation(?) led to a bit of misdirection. I think that was the point though. We tend to judge first. I hope we get to know about how Spencer’s family earned their place or lack of. I know it isn’t really important but I am really curious about what his dad did.
There are a lot of little things scattered throughout the story line that brought the whole puzzle together.
All in all
This was one amazing ride
Y’all this is really good! Ive never read anything by this author but reading the blurb had me excited for it. And I’m so glad I did, Cal and Cassy’s story is great. It’s full of all emotions and each of their own story will break your heart.
These are great characters and they will have you falling in love with them. The writing was spot on and I’m excited to see where the author goes with the next book. I totally recommend this.

Beg For You was another amazing five star read from Sherilee Gray! Anyone who knows me knows that tattoo parlor stories are my jam but OMG was this story on another level!! It was sexy and compelling and the connection between Cal and Cassy was so crazy combustible!! I loved every minute!!
When Cassy Deighton decides to shed the strict restrictions imposed on her by her uber elite upbringing and live her life to the fullest, she never thought she would encounter Cal, the growly, imposing tattoo artist who makes an impression on her during a tattoo consultation. But when she fails to see the tragic connection between them, she falls into Cal’s revenge plans against her father. Will their connection be strong enough for them to overcome the secrets and pain between them?
Ahhh!!! This story was amazingg!! I loved the chemistry between Cassy and Cal and the genuine feelings between them. I felt Cal’s remorse and ambivalence for hurting Cassy but also loved his dedication to his family. I seriously can not wait for Bull and Dane’s stories! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
I read the blurb of this book and said YES! I am so glad I did. The start of a series that I definitely will keep up with. This is my first time reading a novel by Sherilee Gray. The characters were so well fleshed. The enemies to lovers plot wonderful. Though Cassy didn’t know they were enemies. Thank goodness Cal was really a hero; a hero who I’d want in my life! Cannot wait to read more by Ms. Gray!
Cal is the owner and tattoo artist of Rocktown Ink. He wants revenge on the man who destroyed his family ten years ago. Cassy is tired of trying to please her father after her brother was killed and just wants to do things for herself. She meets Cal when she goes to his tattoo shop. The two have instant chemistry but she doesn’t know who he is or why they shouldn’t be together. Will they be able to let go of the past? Will their family responsibilities tear them apart? A wonderful story and I can’t wait to read more!
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
Rated 4.5 Stars
I devoured Beg For You in one sitting. It kept my attention from to start to finish. It’s a naughty opposites attract that I simply adored. I loved this story and these characters and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

This is the first book in a new series, and what an amazing introduction this is! Cassy and Cal are from total different worlds, and they are both damaged souls. When Cassy walks into Cal’s tattoo shop he knows straight away who she is, but she does not know him or the revenge he has been planning for the way her father blew his families’ lives apart. There is an instant attraction between them, but will secrets be the end of them? This is a beautifully written story which is a sweet and steamy read, which had me totally enthralled throughout. I can’t wait to read more in this series, and highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.
Beg For You is the first book in the brand new series, Rocktown Ink, by Sherilee Gray. This author has always been one that no matter what, I knew in advance that her book would check all my boxes. So I jumped in with no hesitation into this new series. And Yes, Yes, Yes! She did it again!
Cassandra (Cassy) Deighton lived in Springhaven on her family’s ranch. On the outside, it looked like she had everything. And maybe for a little while she did. But ten years ago, Cassy’s world changed when she lost her brother. She has spent the last ten years trying to make it up to her father. Trying to win his love. To no avail it would seem. Now she just wants to take back some of her freedom. To try to make something beautiful out of something ugly. So she drives to the adjacent little town next door, Rocktown, which is similar to being on the “other” side of the tracks so to speak. And she walks into Rocktown Ink, where she came face to face with a man who stole her breath away, and changed her life.
Cal is owner of Rocktown Ink and is well known for his artistic skills. When Cassy walked in, he knew right away who she was, even though she didn’t recognize him. Their lives were connected ten years ago. And because of what happened, her father tore Cal and his family’s lives apart. Cal has spent the last ten years dreaming of getting his revenge. The first thought that came into his head when Cassy came in that door was now…now would finally be his chance to pay back the man that ruined their lives.
“We were an extreme contrast. She was so petite, her frame delicate…clean. Day against night. We couldn’t have been more different.”
Cal thought of Cassy as the ice princess, holding herself above all others. He soon realized, though, that it wasn’t her at all. That when she let down her defenses, she was something else entirely. She was a woman he couldn’t get off his mind. A woman he wanted with every cell of his being. A woman he wanted for more than just one night. But if she knew who he was, she would hate him.
“I shouldn’t have feelings when it came to this woman. I couldn’t, but they were there just the same and I had no idea what to do with them.”
Cal isn’t the only one who is keeping secrets. Cassy’s father is manipulating her in such a way as to make her feel responsible to do his bidding. As a result, her time with Cal is all the more important. Because it might be all she has left.
When everything blows up in their faces, both Cal and Cassy are faced with their feelings versus their responsibilities to their families. Both are faced with losing everything.
I Loved This Book!!! Cal was damaged…but…he was also every bit an alpha hero with the ‘Mine’ mentality I love so much. This was super steamy, sweet, sigh worthy and swoony. “S” words that I love!!! I’m not sure who is next in this series but you can bet that I will be waiting impatiently to find out.
The moment she wanders into his tattoo parlor he can believe his eyes, he has thought about Cassandra Deighton for the last ten years, but never imagined he’d see her again in the flesh. Here she stands in front of him, with no recollection of who he is, and wanting to employ his services. He knows he should tell her no, but with the hope lingering in her eyes, he just can’t muster the courage to send her away. So they strike up a deal of sorts, one he knows he shouldn’t be making, one that could stir up a whole host of problems for both of them.
Beg For You unites two wounded souls that come from different worlds, but are linked by their pasts. Ten years ago they came into each others lives during a tragedy, both walking away from it with broken hearts, unimaginable hurt, and scars they carry with them to this day. Cal and Cassy’s reunion brings heart-wrenching emotion to the pages, the kind that will have your heart in your throat and the tears welling. But their is also intense passion there too, their connection is instant and unwavering, and it spawns lots of moments that leave you over-heated and blushing. I loved this newest pairing from Ms. Gray, they lured me into their world instantly, gained my full attention, and had me rooting them on until the last page was swiped. This was an amazing start to a new series, and I am really excited to see what she has in store for us next… bring on book two please!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Squee! I loved, loved, LOVED this book! These characters were exactly what I needed and their story was absolutely perfect!
Cassy is paying for past sins her father blames her for. With the scars of an accident years ago marring her body, she’s decided it’s time to stand up for herself and begin a new life, the life she’s wanted for years. Her first step in doing so is a tattoo designed to cover those scars, which leads her to the man known for being able to take on such a task. Unknown to her, he is a man from her past with his own agenda.
Cal recognizes Cassy as soon as he sees her in his shop. His family continues to pay the price for what her father did to them and now the tables are turned and he has the perfect opportunity for revenge. As Cassy’s scars are slowly transformed, so is his scarred soul, and now he must figure out a way to stop the pain that he knows awaits for the woman who has changed his life.
My first and always love is going to be the hero, especially when he’s as perfect as Cal. Big and brutal looking with his tattoos and scars, when under emotional strain he has trouble vocalizing his words. The fact that Cassy caused him to stutter and stumble made me fall in love with him. He couldn’t hide the fact that she affected him in every way. It also didn’t take him long to move into the “mine” mentality that I am a huge fan of. Loyal to his family, tender, caring and patient with Cassy, he is a hero that will be remembered.
Now I know that many readers will not be happy to learn that Cassy, 26 yrs old, is a virgin. But there are extenuating circumstances and I urge you not to discount this story because of this. She has been traumatized as much by the cause of the scarring as by others’ actions due to them as well. I personally loved her and the sweetness that permeated her when with Cal. In social situations she is the Ice Princess, but with him she is pure heat and honey.
There is a lot at play during this story and once I started I didn’t stop until I reached the end. This author knows how to pull me in and keep me grounded to the characters. The chemistry between Cal and Cassy was absolutely Kindle melting! You’re definitely going to need a cold drink and a fan while reading this one. The addition of Cal’s brothers makes my heart sing because I’m hoping we’re going to get more about them!
Highly recommend for those who love a “mine” alpha hero with a few flaws and a sweet heroine damaged by life.
Beg For You is a spicey opposites attract love story between a good girl and the boy from the wrong side of the tracts. Their worlds are so far apart and yet the connection is instant. Cal struggles with wanting revenge against her father who caused a lot of damage to his family and just plain wanting Cassy for the beautiful woman she has become.
Cassy doesn’t care that Cal isn’t someone her father approves of. She is tired of living her life for him and longs to be selfish for once. When she meets Cal at the tattoo parlor, she only expected to want to cover the scars that cover her back, not to fall in love with the man who has scars of his own.
Cal was an easy hero to fall for. He’s big, quiet and more honorable than he gives himself credit for. Cassy is one of the sweetest heroines. She could easily have been a snobby woman with her background but she lives more in guilt over her brother’s car accident. Her father has used that guilt for years to keep tight control over her.
Despite the obstacles in their path, I really enjoyed this pairing. I like to see how far a hero will go to to keep the woman he loves. If Bull’s story is next, I expect it will be just as delicious!
