Aric Prince is an All-American high school football star with a body built like a Greek god and hair so beautiful he could sell shampoo by the boatloads. The only problem is that Aric’s also a rich, arrogant, and gigantic prick. Nothing but filth and insults come out of his smirking mouth, constantly reminding me that poor, trailer park trash girls like myself don’t belong in his pretentious … pretentious academy.
Aric and his best friends all think they’re untouchable.
But the cocky bastard is finally going down this year.
I’ve hit the motherload of blackmail on the jerk, pun intended, and I can’t wait to give him exactly what he deserves.
Aric Prince’s reign at the academy is coming to an end.
Before I’m done with him, he’ll be on his knees, begging for mercy.
WHILE BEG FOR MERCY IS A HIGH SCHOOL BULLY ROMANCE, IT CONTAINS DARK THEMES, EXPLICIT SEXUAL CONTENT, AND GRAPHIC LANGUAGE THAT IS INTENDED FOR MATURE READERS.

Mercy!
Quite an eye-opener story. Maddie has a lot on her plate, doing everything on her own. Skeptical in trusting anyone, Aric is a rich boy school bully who’s met his match. What starts out as a bet between the 2 of them, unfolds into a journey of trust & revelations. Aric, becomes a better person, the more he hangs around Maddie & she starts to view him differently by liking him more instead of hating him.
Definitely some surprises throughout the book, leaving me wanting to find out what happens in the end.

OH MY GAWD…..Lane Hart can write anything…..
Dark Romance
MMA Romance
Football Romance
MC Romance
HS Bully Romance….. HELL YES
Is there something she can’t write….. HELL NO! This is the first HS Bully Romance book I’ve read and now I’m addicted! I inhaled page after page of this seductive, enthralling, emotional story that I devoured it in less than a day! Aric is the arrogant, cocky prick that gets schooled by the one person he wanted to shame…..Maddie. Maddie is the gorgeous, intelligent girl who has caught the attention of the one person who is bound to make her life hell…..Aric. What happens when the two most unlikely people find comfort in each other? You definitely NEED to consume this scorching PAGE-TURNER!
This is a new series by Lane Hart or her alter ego L A Hart and is set in Mercy Academy.
Aric Prince is an entitled arrogant arsehole who is the star football player at the school.
Maddie Collins has nothing but her looks and brains and lives in a trailer park and is the sole provider and carer for her 2 young siblings after her parents desert them all. When these 2 meet it’s not the best introduction and they absolutely hate each other. But we all know that there is a fine line between love and hate and with these 2 it’s a very thin line.
As with all Lane Hart’s books I couldn’t put this down.
The characters are well described and make you believe in them and Lane is Brilliant at building a world that you want to actually live in.
I cannot wait to get the next book and get lost in it.
So unexpectedly good! Maddie was a fierce, strong character and her chemistry with Aric just brought her character to a new level. I loved their banter and love/hate relationship that was easy to follow. Wonderful storyline, great characters and a HEA made this newest release a must read! I can’t wait for Blake’s story in this new series that doesn’t disappoint.
Welcome to Mercy Academy where the rich consider themselves entitled and they find satisfaction and entertainment in picking on those underneath them. This is a high school bully romance that can be disturbing but is not as dark as some of these style of books can be. That being said this is a well written story on the journey of how one student, Maddie Collins, that was bullied in the highschool halls get even with her tormentor, Aric Prince. Can she successfully even the score? Can enemies become lovers? As always, stories told by this author are always a pleasurable and satisfying read, this one is no different but contains a few different twists. Enjoy!

I was pulled in from page 1. The only reason why I didn’t finish same day was because…. well adulting! But damn Maddie and Aric are FIRE!!! I love them! They are freaking perfect together! The whole enemies to lovers thing was really working for them. I really loved how Aric’s parents were… they were super supportive of whatever he wanted to do as long as it wasn’t just being a bum. Then there were the side people… they were fascinating AF! I can not wait to get to their stories! I bet they have some REALLY good ones to tell! Especially Hannah! I am really intrigued by what she has to tell us! Great start to what I think is going to be a very entertaining series!!!
Outstanding!!! I could not put it down! Interesting and intriguing characters and a great story premise!

Maddie is a strong willed girl taking care of her siblings. She tries to make the best of the situation of struggling her parents left her and her siblings to fend for themselves. She gets into a very wealthy school through the scholarship program. Aric is the rich kid that is to be her guide around the school. Her is arrogant, rude and acts like he is better then everyone. Maddie is not treated well cause she is poor and from the wrong side of the tracks. She sees Aric doing something and blackmails him into being there for her. As they spend more and more time together Aric realizes he is falling in love the Maddie. Things started to get better for Maddie and her siblings. You just never know whether your rich or poor love doesn’t matter in the end. Well written can’t wait for the next book.

I really liked this book and I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between the lead characters. I actually thought that this read delivered a lot more than you’d expect. I feel that too often “bully romances” are used as a free pass for atricious, unforgivable behavior on the part of the male character in the story and a badly veiled excuse for the female character to admit to herself she likes doing kinky and naughty things. I did not think that this was the case in this book. Sure Aric started out as a first class jerk but Maddie is fierce, strong and no shrinking violet waiting around for some guy to force her to admit to herself who she is and what she wants, because guess what? She already knows! I found that incredibly refreshing and entertaining. The story itself grabs and holds your attention with drama, tension, angst, heat and emotions. I loved witnessing the interactions and chemistry between these two as battle lines were drawn, discoveries were made and feelings took root.
How to write a review about this book without giving to much detail away because I loved it the bully the girl with attitude who wouldn’t take any of there rich snobby crap. And I am really glad there is going to be another book I had to pre order it this book is that good.
You have a group of rich entitled boys who play sports and are to good looking for there own good but even with there wealth you will see they have problems too none of which gives them the write to be jerks who you would love to punch in the face. Aric the star football player thinks he’s above everything he’s never had to worry about anything until he meets a snarky girl who doesn’t care about him or his money one bet and some awsome blackmail will bring this bully down from his elevated status.
Maddie the girl from the wrong side of the tracks living in a trailer park has a scholarship to the prestigious private school has lots of her own problems and know good looking jerk is going to bring her down and man she hits the jackpot on Aric someone has been very very bad. These two are perfect for each other and hate can turn to love there is the romantic tension between them lots of secrets lots of snark this isn’t a sweet romance its dark but there is a HEA by the end.

You start reading the story thinking that it’s going to be a young adult story but as you go along you will see that it is a great story for adults too. The story centers around Maddie and she is a high school student who is trying to graduate as valedictorian while keeping her brother and sister with her. The only kink in her plan is Aric Prince. They but heads from the first time they meet till, well you will find out once you read the book its just that good.
Surprising story. Popular rich boy and poor trailer trash girl. Blackmail with surprising results. I loved Madison. She was smart and strong. Taking care of her two young siblings, and getting straight A’s. I loved the way she blackmailed Aric and what she made him do. In forcing him to see her world, he became a better person, and learned to value a person for who they are and not what they have. I hope the author writes a book about the secondary characters also. Blakes’s story and Hannah and Royal’s story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book had me completely engrossed from the beginning!
I instantly loved Maddie! She was incredibly strong and sassy when she needed to be. I loved that she didn’t cower after first meeting Aric.
Aric was an arrogant jerk! So obviously I was rooting for Maddie. Until I somehow found myself pulling for Aric! He had a complete turnaround and I began to love his character.
There were some crazy “feels” moments in this book and I honestly couldn’t put it down!
Can’t wait for Blake’s story, but I’m also hoping to see a story for Royal & Hannah! Please!!!

Heartwarming tale of TRUE love’s impact! A MUST-READ!
OMG, she had done it again! Author Lane Hart has published BEG FOR MERCY a HEARTwarming and slow burn ROMANTIC look at an enemy to lovers’ relationship. A story so compelling that after reading an early copy I just had to purchase a pre-order! This plausible coming of age tale takes readers into the lives of Aric, the rich quarterback at a private high school and Maddie the scholarly poor girl who is given the opportunity to attend said high school on a scholarship aimed at increasing the school’s overall rating. The chemistry and humor all result from author Hart’s masterful and enticing prose, while the complex plotlines kept me reading long into the night. That lack of sleep was well worth the effort as BEG FOR MERCY is an amazing piece of sports fiction – that is more about the romance than the sports. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of BEG FOR MERCY and this is my VOLUNTARY and Honest 5+STAR review. Well worth the time to read and the price of admission, BEG FOR MERCY should be your next romance purchase! Happy pages!
New fave high school romance yet! I started reading and did not stop until I finished completely at 4 in the morning. Absolutely loved this story and these two snarky, sassy characters. It was fun seeing the different side of the heroine being the “bully” for once over the hero. Both characters had their moments of torment but we see much more the female as the antagonist once she’s able to execute her plan.
Aric…oh my Aric is something else. He is your typical cocky hottie but has some big secrets he’s carrying. He definitely won my heart over throughout this story and his character development was beautiful.
Maddie…my poor poor maddie girl has had to grow up entirely too fast and dealt with really crappy situations, yet she is still an incredible person. I really loved her fierce dedication to her siblings and her wittiness.
Absolutely would recommend this book. Don’t let the “bully” scare you away, it’s all pretty light for the most part and in my opinion incredibly well done.
So dang excited for the upcoming book in the series!!
3.75 stars–BEG FOR MERCY is the first instalment in Lane Hart’s (writing as L.A. Hart) contemporary, young adult MERCY ACADEMY erotic, romance series. This is high school football star Aric Prince, and Maddie Collins’ story line.
NOTE: BEG FOR MERCY focuses on the exploits of eighteen year old high school seniors but reads more like a new adult to adult story line due to the language and sexual content.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Aric and Maddie) BEG FOR MERCY follows the acrimonious relationship between eighteen year old high school football star Aric Prince, and Maddie Collins. Maddie Collins is from the wrong side of the proverbial tracks; a scholarship student at Mercy Academy, Maddie is treated with disdain and disrespect by the school’s all-star quarterback, a young man with whom Maddie will fall in love. Two years earlier, Maddie discovered Aric’s dark and dangerous secret, and our heroine blackmails Aric Prince in return for keeping quiet, and agreeing not to reveal the disturbing videos she has in her possession. What ensues is the back and forth antagonistic relationship and friendship between Maddie and Aric, and the fall-out when secrets are revealed and Maddie is caught in the cross-fire.
Eighteen year old Maddie Collins struggles to house, feed and clothe her much younger siblings. Having been left on their own for more years that she can remember, Maddie is desperate to keep a roof over their heads, staying under the radar of the local family and childrens services. An opportunity to blackmail Aric Prince eases our heroine’s struggles but not everything goes according to plan when Aric begins to develop feelings for our story line heroine.
BEG FOR MERCY is a story of bullying at an elite, California high school academy but our heroine gives as good as she gets. There is a fine line between who is the bully and who is bullied, and in this Maddie Collins is as guilty as the smug, spoiled rich kids she despises the most. From the requisite controlling, oblivious, drunken and immoral parents, to the mean boys/girls at the high school level, BEG FOR MERCY has all of the features of a YA story line but the lines between YA and NA are completely blurred with the graphic language and questionable behavior and ethics of some of the characters including the not-so responsible adults. The premise is entertaining; the characters are spirited, energetic and dramatic; the romance is provocative.
This first book in Lane Hart’s new Mercy Academy series is very different from her other stories. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a bully romance. I loved every bit of this fantastic story and look forward to reading the next book.
Maddie and Aric come from two different worlds. Maddie knows what it is like to struggle and work for what she wants but Aric is use to privilege. He’s always gotten what he wants and never had to work for it. Maddie starts her first day at a new school, one she knows she doesn’t fit into but worked hard to get there. When Aric and Maddie first meet, things don’t go so good. A bet is made and that gives Maddie even more incentive to work hard. When Maddie discovers a secret, everything changes. Now Maddie knows what she has to do. This was such a entertaining read! Loved the characters and can’t wait to see what will happen next!
