If it wasn’t for bad luck, I wouldn’t have any luck at all. That saying is as old as the hills in Tennessee, where I used to live. And it’s definitely true. It didn’t quite work out that way, but I’m stubborn and I’m not about to give up.
Ben Kingston was the first man to handle me with care.
He gave me a glimpse of something I desperately wanted.
And then, tore it away from me with the carelessness of one whispered word.

In fact, I’ve had enough of them.
I’m okay with being single the rest of my life.
I’ll be just fine with my handy friend B.O.B.
Except Ben keeps coming around, tempting me and a girl can only take so much.
Ben’s out to prove I can trust him. I don’t trust any man, not anymore.
But my resolve weakens when he touches me, slides his hand down and proves buying stock in batteries might not be a good life plan.
Welcome back to the world of Stone Lake.

Holy Hades…Sheriff Ben Kingston is one AF man! Jaysus, I found myself closing my eyes and imagining him in his uniform doing all sorts of naughty things to me including the use of his handcuffs.
And yet, he had a gentle side to him as well. The way he cared for Junie was what romance novels are made for.
Ben and Junie began their very complicated relationship from the ruins of a murder. He felt a need to protect and Junie found something in him that allowed her to let her walls down. Unfortunately, being a man lol, Ben royally screwed their encounter up beyond repair. Coming in second best seemed to be his M.O. Junie was simply trying to survive and live day by day. Forget the past, the pain, and the betrayal.
Two characters that are stubborn, fierce, and a bit damaged. But a chemistry that explodes off the pages. Be prepared to go up in flames
Junie and Ben gave us all hope of love and happy ever after. Junie and Ben hit a rough spot in their relationship in the prequel “Where We Began”. After some persistence and perseverance, Ben finally gets a second chance to show Junie how true love should feel. Their love is hotter than a hot summer day in Texas and their love scenes will have you fanning yourself ALL.OVER. EVERY. PART. OF.YOUR. BODY.!!!! You will love this book, I promise
Ben and Junie have had my anxiety level in overdrive since reading the jaw dropping (Free) prequel Where We Began.
It’s a fantastic insightful tease of what’s instore for this book, so well worth a read if you haven’t grabbed it yet.
Before We Fall was every bit as impressive, It’s a riveting, heart pounding, witty romantic story. I was gripped throughout the plot flowed well and kept me on the edge.
Ben and Junie have a turbulent rocky journey that will drive you insane. It’s impossible not to become emotionally invested in these characters.
I adored Junie, she’s such a strong independent woman who’s been through Hell but doesn’t let it ruin her. Junie made me laugh with her quick wit and sarcasm.
My heart went out to Ben in the previous Stone Lake books, he’s such a likeable guy that deserved some happiness.
After reading the prequel, I was desperate to see if Ben could somehow redeem himself. I really wanted to slap the sh!t outta him even though I liked him.
For me the real Ben shone through in this story, he’s charismatic, alluring and definitely all male. All he needed was the right woman.
Sheriff Ben Kingston can frisk me anytime, he’s seriously one hottttt Cop!
I’m loving the Stone Lake series, there’s never a dull moment. I’m excited to see what’s instore next. I know exactly who I want getting their book so fingers crossed.
This is the story of Juniper aka Junie Sellers and Ben Kingston, the prequel, Where We Began, is the actual beginning of their story and should be read before this book to gain a full understanding. Even better I suggest you read the first two books in the series, Letting You Go and When You Were Mine. Both excellent stories.
Great expressions like ‘ugly as a mud fence’ are found sprinkled here and there throughout the book. The descriptions are on point making it easy to visualise each scene and you could see the story playing like a movie reel.
As well, the story has a hefty dose of good humour, sometimes sarcastic but always funny! To balance things out there is a good amount of drama that has you experiencing all of the emotions possible.
Ben showed himself to wear quite a few hats:- mischievous Ben, scheming Ben, supportive Ben, lover Ben, and of course lawman Ben. He really is an all round good guy and a great character. Junie has had it pretty tough for most of her life but is so resilient it’s amazing. She too is such a likeable character and one you’d like to actually know in real life. Together they have a combustible chemistry and deep regard for one another.
The next book sounds very intriguing and I can’t wait to find out more about Reed and Callie.
I LOVE BEN AND JUNIE!!!!
)I have loved the Stone Lake Series since the beginning, and BEFORE WE FALL just gave me one more reason to love it…..
And, Sheriff Ben Kingston and Juniper Sellers, both separately, and together are great characters…..Chemistry, off the charts…
I loved this book, and I still love this series…
Wow ! What a great story as we totally loved the characters and could not help but fall in love with all of them. This current story was a gripping emotional tale that had us engrossed into the pages to the very end.
Junie was a character that was smart and beautiful and independent but, she was an emotional wreck who was filled with a lot of demons that she was working on getting rid of but, it made things difficult in her relationship with Ben where it was almost felt like a push and pull thing but, thank god Ben for the most part was a patient and understanding man which was a really hard thing to do as he was always in total alpha mode .
Ben -We loved the sexy as sin sheriff who was a total alpha and sex on a stick but, one of his most enduring qualities was that he was that he could turn the alpha off when Junie was in crisis mode and give her what she needed or at least tried to.He was sweet, kind and loving and protective.
Overall this story was filled with a lot of ups and downs a ton of emotion but, it was also filled with so much love and understanding and a whole lot of explosive chemistry that made for a lot of hot a sexy sex scenes that had a girl fanning herself. The story also gave us a few laughs a time or two because it was hard not to love Junie as she funny and bright and beautiful on the inside and out and everyone loved her including us.
We just loved it and the more books we read my this author the more we fall in love with her works. This one definitely goes into the keeper pile.
Sheriff Ben and Junie’s story sucked me right on in! I chuckled, laughed out loud, wanted to knock Ben up side his head and soaked my panties! Always love a HEA! Now for the next book!
AMAZING!!! I was so excited for Ben’s story and I was not disappointed! I absolutely loved Junie and Ben together! Whew – the heat was off the charts! Ben is completely swoon-worthy and Junie was an amazing heroine!! HUGE FIVE STARS!!
