I friggin loved Alex and Emmy’s story! Alex – bad boy rock star who made teenage Emmy fall in love with him with one kiss, which was forever grained in her brain.
The trials and tribulations that played off of each other throughout the years between the two had me glued to the storyline. This story totally captured all of my emotions and was extremely well written. I was sad that the story ended.
Every single book I read of Thia’s seems to get better and better. I totally recommend this book!
A cute second chance rocker romance that will have you flipping the pages quickly to see what happens next! Alex and Emmy… will the third time be a charm? Even though the ending seemed a bit rushed, over all it was a good read
Before the Second Show by Thia Finn
5-Stars
Before the Second Show by Thia Finn was an excellent and addicting romance novel. I could not put this book down. I loved the characters Emmy, Alex, Adam, Marcus, and the rest. They were developed well, relatable, and realistic. The author did an excellent job in describing the look and personality of each. The storyline was easy to follow, organized, and had an easy flow. I laughed, cried, and smiled while reading this book. This was such an excellent novel. I highly recommend it.
I enjoyed this book. This is my first book by this author and I will be looking for more. This is a well developed page turner that I was pulled into right from the start. Her attention to detail along with the characters made me feel as if I was right there in the story. Emmy and Alex are great, strong characters. They are about to find out how complicated life can be for them. The past and present come together to make decisions hard but will it be worth fighting for? I highly recommend this book.
Before The Second Show is a rockstar romance that has you captivated and feeling every beat of their hearts. An attraction that has remained for Emmy since she was 16. As the rockstar life does its damage to Alex, hearts will be broken and memories will be unclear. As time moves forward Emmy and Alex will cross paths again and that connection will be just as strong and the melody of their hearts might just be the rhythm that Alex needs to get him through a life altering time. An emotional story that will have you spellbound, on the edge of your seat, angsty and enraptured as you ride out the drama as it unfolds to an seductive love story. Emmy and Alex will steal your heart and cheering them on from the front row.
Thia Finn does it AGAIN!! Before the Second Show is another rocking romance. So beautifully written with a story that will draw you in and bring out all the feels. The reader can relate to the heroine, Emmy. Who hasn’t fallen in love with band? Who hasn’t had a wild crazy dream of being loved by a rock star?
Who hasn’t had that dream crushed when their object of infatuation doesn’t return their love?
Emmy is crushing on Alex Trace, an up and rising rock star. When she meets him backstage after the show and gets her first kiss, she is completely over taken by the belief that they are meant to be. Emmy doesn’t get the chance to find out because he is soon on a world tour. The next time she is able to see and be with Alex, Emmy is devastated to find he don’t recognize her.
Finally back on her feet and back in the dating game Emmy meets Marcus. An all around good guy Marcus finds himself falling in love with Emmy. Having no idea that she is still nursing wounds that he is going to reopen. Enter Alex…
I wish I could continue with talking about the book but if I do you won’t get to experience the ups, down, questions and answers that this book has. Finn has such a way of making you feel deeply to her characters, of making you hate the fact that reality exists when you have to put down the book. She will make you beg for the next book and the next. Her skills as an author are astounding. Thia Finn brings the heat and the heart in a way that will stay with you long after the book ends.
I Like This Book
Hot rockstar, Alex Trace of the world-famous band, Trace, and young high school fangirl, Emmy Tillie have a moment during and after a concert and it was everything to her…He didn’t remember…but, now, he wishes he did…
Good rocker romance…my first book by this author….but it won’t be my last…
This is a standalone, but there definitely needs to be more because WOW! It starts with your typical teenage crush. Trace gives Emmy her first kiss and she never forgets him…knowing that they have chemistry and wishing for another chance to see him because shes convinced it’s love. And when they meet again a few years later while Emmy is in college, shes crushed when Trace doesnt remember her. Fate brings her Marcus…or so she thinks until fate steps in again in the best way possible.
Great writing, great story line, great chemistry, and all around fantastic book! Im excited to read Thia again
Before the Second Show is a beautiful second chances rock star romance by Thia Finn. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I know that from now on I will keep my eyes out on anything new that she releases. I absolutely love second chances stories and I also love stories that span over long period of time (whether in actual narrative or simply jumping the years and giving us the experience of those years passed).
Before the Second Show gives us Emmy and Alex. Emmy is our young teenager filled with angst and dreams and in the throes of a young love that goes unanswered, Alex is your quintessential musician – sex, drugs and rock’n’roll! Add to the mix Marcus, a guy who is perfect on paper and seems just the right man for Emmy to move on with and leave the teenage crush behind …
As it is a story of second chances then it is not as simple as it could be and the writer takes us on a rollercoaster ride. She gives us banter and she gives us craziness as there is a whole gang aka Trace band members along on the ride that makes it even wilder and makes us hope that Before the Second Show is just a beginning to a series that we all rocker girls, young and mature, want to go back to!

I sincerely enjoyed this story. This is my first read by Thia Finn and now I’m left asking myself Why? She was able to take a book about a rockstar and make me love it. I really don’t like rockstar romances..that is until this book.
From the character development to the dialogue with the characters I was pulled in immediately and found myself not being able to put the book down. The way the story flowed made it also go faster than I expected and before I knew it I was done. She writes in a way that makes you think you know what’s going to happen and you even keep waiting for it to happen and in the meantime it goes a totally different way. That’s my favorite part about reading!
I loved the friendships in this story and the family aspects as well. I am so hoping there is a book about Adam…seems there is a story there and I’m pretty sure all in the band have stories to tell and I will be reading them all if this author blesses us with them.
I highly recommend reading this book, for me I love finding new authors especially when I find one I can’t wait to read more from.
Loved it!!!!!!
5 stars!
Great book by Thia Finn. I really enjoyed the aspect of the characters being in a band. It always makes for a fun read, with some twists and turns because of the lifestyle those characters lead. Alex being the lead guitarist in the band Trace has all of the temptations of someone in the spotlight and famous, so how he would remember one girl, one kiss, one night after a show is beyond me. Emmy, bless her heart, thinks after her first kiss, and with a rock star, she is in love makes me cringe. When they meet years later and he doesn’t remember her, of course my heart breaks for her, but I also am thinking how naive she is and is pleased to see her grow into a stronger woman. The storyline is wonderful. I loved following along with Emmy and Alex to see where their story would end, if it would end with them together or just in heartbreak and mess.
The secondary characters were awesome. Adam, Alex’s brother and Rylee, Emmy’s best friend are nicely written in, and wouldn’t mind seeing a story about each of them. Overall would 10 out of 10 recommend this book, it is filled with drama, romance and music making for a wild journey.

Before the Second Show is a rock star, second chance romance between Emmy and Alex. Alex is the rock star guitarist and he and Emmy meet and fall in love at sixteen when she sneaks out to see him at a gig and they meet backstage but Alex soon has to move on as he has more gigs to play. Emmy is aware that falling in love with a rock star and at sixteen is not a good plan and she tries to forget her encounter with the sexy guitarist. Five years later Emmy is happily in a relationship with Marcus and works as a realtor. Marcus who is working with Alex and his band, and has no idea that Emmy has a past with Alex recommends Emmy when Alex and brother Adam need a realtor. Emmy is then annoyed when Alex seems to have no memory oh her and shows no recognition, however although he does not remember her he does feel a pull towards Emmy and finds her intriguing. Emmy has also never forgotten Alex Trace and has never really felt the same chemistry with anyone else. Fate brings the two back together and a change in circumstances in Alex’s life brings the two closer together and makes Alex realise what and who he really wants.
I’m not usually a rock star romance fan but I loved this book by Thia Finn and fell in love with her diverse range of characters. I was cheering Emmy on as a giggly sixteen year old with her first crush, sneaking out to a gig and falling in love with sexy Alex Trace and was fascinated by her change through the years to a more mature women, with a good job and stable relationship but who still had a bit of the sixteen year old Emmy in her when it came to her feelings for Alex, her first love.
Rock star and rock god guitarist Alex was a fantastic character, obviously good looking and a typical young man who has had women throwing themselves at him as he toured the world with his band. I enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Emmy and Alex developed especially after fate seems to bring them back together and give them a second chance at love. I found the dynamic between the two and how it changed from their first encounter was very realistic. The secondary characters, such as Alex’s brother Adam and the rest of his band were all fascinating characters in their own right and I would have liked to have seen them have their own stories but this is a stand alone book.
A complex rock star, second chance romantic story with a twist and with a great range of characters and a storyline that kept me hooked from page one until the last page, I definitely recommend this book.
Emmy falls in love with a rocker but her intuition knows it’s a bad idea from the start. What makes it even worse is she’s 16. But she doesn’t mind it since he’s on the way to his next gig. She trusts the universe to guide her as life is complicated as it rewards her as much as it lets her down. Or at least that’s what she tells herself. She’s caught between two lovers as her past and her present collide. She wonders if she is gonna choose the wrong one.
Alex knows he’s got issues but the ladies is one problem he’s never had. He believes he can be toxic. Only to be reunited with a past flame that he can’t seem to remember. He doesn’t try to stake claim since she belongs to someone else. Life is complicated as he sees it as a road bump on the road to success with his goals in music on sight. Deep within himself, Alex knows with a life-altering battle, he wants someone of his own. Someone he knows he wants and who knows him. But how will he go about convincing her. As time winds down, he knows he’s in for a fight to get what’s his.
This book is worth the read as you ponder who deserves what and why. You find yourself rooting for each character’s sense of happiness. I loved reading this book to see which way it’d turn out.
I enjoyed this Book alot. This is my first book by this author but it will now be my last. The authors writing style is good and I was sucked in and kept turning page after page. The main characters are what made this story great, they were relatable and enjoyable. Life is fixing to become very complicated for them and I was right there with them through the ups and downs. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.
Happy Reading!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn
This is my first rockstar romance as well as my first time reading anything by Thia Finn. It was a fun story that explored teenage feelings and being star struck, but also progressed to more adult love with real life concerns and feelings. The characters were fun to get to know and the writing was very descriptive when it came to the steamy parts of the story. Overall, I liked reading about how Emmy and Alex grew over the years and figured things out. I also liked the more minor characters, Emmy’s friends and Alex’s bandmates, that were introduced in the book. It was a fun read with some sexiness you’d expect if you ever spent time with a rock star.
This is a nice easy read. Rylee is a very cute character. Emmy is written well. Alex well he’s a chacter i personal am not kean on. Its really good at flipping prestective with the characters. You’ve got to remember who you are reading with though at each chapter.
Having a second chance at love is not always on the cards so what happens when this chance is given read and find out on this lovely romance.
Oh, Rockstar Romances, really get my heart going. I mean I’ve had a thing for many a rockstars in my life and still do with some of them. (Looking at you Donnie Wahlburg and Louis Tomlinson). I enjoyed this book, and the time it spanned. It’s every girls dream, and I wanted to be in her shoes so badly. I really enjoyed this and I think Thia Finn did a brilliant job telling this story. I look forward to more from this author.
Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is the first book I have read by this author. Fin’s writing styles kept me wanting to read the next page more quickly than the last page. The plot line is always moving and really never pulls a sudden stop. The characters are fresh and new. It is amazing how they could be my friends and neighbors. Emmy and Alex are the main characters in this story. They each have some hills to straighten out to be able to move forward. Will they figure out what needs to be done? Will there be a future for Emmy and Alex? You will have to read the story to find out.
Before the Second Show by Thia Finn was really good! It was a typical romance story, the only difference being the romantic interest is a rockstar. The story takes place in Austin, Texas which I kind of liked having as a background. Plot and storyline was great, great characters with some funny aspects. The band guys had me laughing throughout the whole novel! This is my first novel I’ve read by Thia Finn and I immensely enjoyed it and will read more from her in the future! I recommend this novel, it is 18+ with some scenes and language throughout.

It’s been a while since I have read a good rock star romance story so when I saw this from Thia Finn I couldn’t wait to dive in – the blurb had me hooked before I have even begun. Thia Finn is also a new to me author so I was also really looking forward to reading something by someone new!
I loved this story! It has everything that I love in a rock star romance and there was a second chance element to the story too which was great too! I have to say I went into this story expecting one thing and I got something completely different! Poor Emmy! My heart broke for her so many times when it came to her feelings for Alex but I loved that she was so determined and motivated in other areas of her life.
Alex was everything I wanted and more from a rock star god! I am definitely a fan of his!! I loved that there were some unexpected things with his character like with the storyline – all of this definitely had me captivated by this read from beginning to end!
I would absolutely love this to become a series, there are so many secondary character who I would love to find out more about and I can definitely say I am very much looking forward to reading more from Thia Finn in the future!
