In Before Sunrise, Will Fortin of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is on patrol in southern Alberta. It’s a lonely region where the sky meets the land on even terms, where the landscape exaggerates or diminishes your place in the world. If you’re lucky, trouble would never find you there. If you weren’t, this was your battleground. This is where Fortin experiences the worst any cop can face, the … can face, the taking of innocent lives while under fire in responding to a violent call at a farm involving a gun. His life destroyed his guilt unbearable, Fortin, a good man, struggles as a haunted soul, aching to redeem himself.
Years after the shooting, Fortin is assigned to escort a murderer from a Canadian prison to trial in Seattle, Washington. When their plane crashes in the unforgiving Rocky Mountains, Fortin is presented with his last chance at redemption.
Before Sunrise is a powerful, heart-wrenching story of love, heartbreak, courage and enduring human spirit.

Morfina never disappoints even with new characters.
Another great thrill ride from a great writer
Simply thank you to the author for writing such fantastic stories!
Great writing. Moving plot. You know where it is going, and you don’t want it to. Five star plus.
I really loved it, and then I really hated it, and then I really loved it. what a good read!
Enjoyed
Suspenseful
Any book by Rick Mofina is fantastic!!!
This book grabbed your attention from page one and kept it to the end. Great characters, setting, and story line.
Wonderfully written haunting story, one that I will think about for a long time.
I enjoyed this book. Good character building and story flow. A surprising twist.
Interesting book about the effect of unresolved event changing a mans whole future. The author makes the reader search their lives for such an similar event and one possible future life ending if one never comes to grips with it. Little too depressing and disturbing book to read for me.
Parallel lives and stories that coalesce. Interesting little read until you get to the part where you realize that you haven’t breathed. That is where the story truly gets hold of you, and you will not let go until the last minute. I hate reviewers that spoil plots, so this is all I will say. You will most certainly enjoy this book!
Very good read, the struggles of the mountee were real, and suspenseful.
Must read
Keeps your interest and a fast read.
I love this man’s books, love them so much that I used to warn my husband that I had downloaded a new Rick Mofina book. He would always say,” Enjoy your day and I will prepare dinner.” He knew what a compelling read it would be for me .
I loved reading this story even though the main character was killed at the end it was riveting.
Absolutely loved it. I cried at the end when all the pieces came together, a twist of fate bringing redemption. Great book.
Before Sunrise is a beautifully written story about a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Very well done.
