When Addison Greyer, a happily married mother of three, decides to re-enter the workforce, she never once considers that taking a job might unravel everything she thinks to be true about her life—that it would cause her to look deep within and confront fears she didn’t know existed. She couldn’t have foreseen how a chance meeting or a single day can change the course of an entire lifetime.
Like … lifetime.
Like many women, Addison is defined in terms of marriage and motherhood, until she suddenly finds her life turned upside down by her husband’s decision to take a job thousands of miles away. When her tough-as-nails boss offers her an opportunity she can’t refuse, Addie is forced to make difficult choices. Those choices take her further and further out of the carefully crafted fairytale life she has created and lead her into an unknown world where things are anything but black and white: a world where she learns that desire is not only dangerous but deadly. In this world, all bets are off as she is forced to finally confront her past. As her past and present collide, she has to make decisions that for most are unthinkable, decisions that can tear her family apart, and perhaps even have fatal consequences.

Addison Greyer had an idea growing up about how life would be as she got older…an education, a career, a loving marriage, and a beautiful family. The reality was not so perfect. She met the man she would marry while still in college, but they both finished and were starting the workforce. However, due to a pregnancy way too early in their marriage she had to quit working, leaving that need for a successful career unfulfilled.
After three kids and a few years of marriage, Addison decides that it is time that she re-enters the workforce. Just about the time that Addison goes to start a new job her husband decides to take a job for a year in China to advance in his career, but it’s China…a whole different side of the world.
Life decided to test Addison and threw her a few curve balls, and boy did she handle them like a champ. Addison is offered a second job, one that will help her to grow as a person and explore the stronger side of herself. She WILL change…the question is, will it be for the better or for worse? Will a year on two different sides of the globe strengthen or weaken her already rocky marriage? And a bigger question is, can Addison be a great mother as well as a successful career woman?
This was my first Britney King book, and I did not read the blurb going into this book so I felt everything as it came. I really enjoyed the story and cannot wait to see what direction she chooses for Addison in the next book. I really do like Addison, she is someone I could see myself having as a friend. My only complaint was that the story was a bit slow to unfold so I had to take a few breaks from reading, hopefully now that the first story is laid out for us the next book will pickup at a better pace. I really do recommend this book.
It doesn’t appeal to me.
Addison and Patrick seemed happily married with three rowdy boys, but they were keeping secrets from one another. Patrick was taking a job promotion in China for a year. Addison refused to go.
Lottle did Addison know that one little spark, a mistake would cause her world her to slowly start spiraling downwards. Now she faces a life or death situation.
The author spins a web of cheating, suspense, heartbreak that keeps you intrigued with twists and turns.
Totally predictable.
I absolutely loved this book! I can’t wait to complete the series! Well written!
Oh please. Never in a million years. Maybe the author is trying to jump on the 50 shades bandwagon, I don’t know, but there is only one thing remotely believable, and that was fire ants.
The main character worked in a BDSM dungeon dominating men. I would not recommend this book to anyone who finds kinky sex offensive.
I really didn’t think I would like this book, but I finished it at 5:00 a.m. this morning because I couldn’t put it down. Great story line and I love the fact that I didn’t find any typos or errors (one of my pet peeves). I’m definitely hooked and will buy the next book in the series.
I Could not put this book down! Easy to read, great characters.
Interesting writing style, really enjoyed the story and the characters.
Not my usual read..but it was good
A simple story of revenge using the incorrect target.
Enjoyed all of the books in this series. Kept me interested throughout.
I could not put this book down!! Looking forward to reading the next 2!!
Seems hard to believe that the main character, who the author describes as a strong, smart woman, can be this wishy-washy and weak. Wasn’t interested enough to read the second in the series.
No great
I liked book good easy read
Didn’t like at all
A fairly well written novel. Takes one away from dailey woes and entertains. A nice read
I liked the book but I didn’t really like the ending.
