Amanda Graham inherited a rundown bed and breakfast, a starving cat, and some dead guy who’s buried in her garden! What should’ve been a simple remodeling project and a new business in a small Oregon beach town winds up with her uncle named as the number one murder suspect, a slew of odd neighbors and problematic townspeople, and Amanda wanting to just sit down and eat her weight in chocolate … her weight in chocolate pie.
Sure, she could pack her bags and travel back to LA…or should she dig in, heal from her failed romance, and find a whole new set of friends and adventures in Ravenwood Cove?
And how could a quiet little coastal village have so many secrets?
Includes the free recipe for Amanda’s (and the author’s) favorite cinnamon rolls. First novel in the Ravenwood Cove ebook series. Paperback and audiobook (with Whispersync) versions coming soon. Mild PG rating (because hey, there’s a dead guy in it).more
Predictable outcome.
Enjoyed!
A fun, upbeat “mystery”. Enjoyed the interaction of the characters.
Fun, quick, mystery!
A small town on the Oregon coast, a run down bed and breakfast, a new owner and more secrets than residents!
Amanda, the new owner of the bed and breakfast in Ravenwood Cove has just started refurbishing her inheritance when a find in her garden puts an abrupt halt to her plans and makes her question her future in the quaint, quirky town. A crooked lawyer, a strange neighbor next door, a drop dead gorgeous detective, a controlling mayor and a 90 year old town gossip are just some of the cast of characters Amanda encounters.
I am looking forward to the next story from Ravenwood Cove.
I enjoy cozy mysteries and this book fit the bill.
Lived up to the idea of a cozy mystery.
Enjoyed easy to read loved the characters and storyline
Realistic. Good partial small politics. Remaining audit read.
Great mystery, who-done-it ight to the end.
Entertaining cozy mystery. Enjoyed the characters
1st in series
No sex
Maybe one use of strong language that could have been left out.
No graphic violence.
Appropriate tension in order to keep the reader turning pages.
Good plot line – Main character, new to small town, wants to re-open the bed and breakfast inherited from her aunt and uncle only to be met with not only resistance, but legal obstacles imposed upon her the city. Then there’s that pesky long-dead skeleton found in her yard during remodel.
The characters who are supposed to be likable are likable, and the snooty ones are suitably infuriating.
Because at times the descriptions are nearly flawless, when the writing is halting, it is really noticeable. Made me wonder why the editor didn’t catch those and suggest re-wordings.
Light reading. Suitable for adults and middle-schoolers who are interested in moving away from purely YA to the cozy mystery genre.
A fun beach side read. Characters are simultaneously unique and believable. The description of settings makes you want to book a B&B just for the heck of it, not brilliantly written but still entertaining.
It’s time to start her life over … or is it?
Amanda Inherited a bed and breakfast from an aunt and uncle she really didn’t know very well. Moving to a small, seaside town from Los Angeles seemed to be just what she needed until a body shows up In her garden.
I enjoyed reading this book. Good characters and the mystery with all the twists and turns was not revealed until the end. Lots of suspects, hints at romance and the hope of grander days of the past to be returned.
Really like the Ravenwood Cove mystery series, would recommend them to people that like cozy mysteries.
Just barely an ok read. Main character was too naive and cutesy to be believable. very lightweight
Enjoyed it.
This book was so cute. Great light reading and well told. I like when I can’t figure out who dunnit til the end.
Really enjoyed this book. Love the recipes!
Couldn’t wait for the resolution. Will certainly read more in this series!
