PEACE AND QUIET CAN BE MURDER!Fiona Fleming had hoped inheriting her grandmother’s bed and breakfast and returning home to quiet Reading, VT would be a welcome escape from the city life in New York and her cheating ex-boyfriend. She figured the most excitement she’d face would be making beds, pesky customers and the awful stench coming from her grandmother’s ornery pug, Petunia. Instead, she … Instead, she finds herself elbow-deep in clogged toilets, the town blackmailer floating belly-up in her fish pond and she’s the prime suspect.
She’s soon looking for answers in the seedy-side of the tiny town and winds up in dangers she never even faced in the city. While she is surrounded with help from the odd cast of characters in this bizarre town, she’s not sure who she can trust. Her back-up, however, consists of her flighty yet fashionable childhood friend, her grandmothers nosy neighbor and her beloved father who seems to have secrets of his own. Then there’s the buried treasure she can’t figure out and how to get her mind off of how great the new sheriff’s backside looks in his uniform.
Can Fiona uncover the truth before the handsome sheriff puts her behind bars instead of asking her out?
Book 1 in the Fiona Fleming Cozy Mystery series!
Can be read as a standalone but will be enjoyed more as part of the series.
A light, cozy mystery read with a reluctant dog loving female inn owner, in a small town setting with quirky characters.
No cliffhanger!
No swearing!
No gore!
No graphic scenes!

I couldn’t get past the beginning. The writing was like something from a beginner and the topic was over done. There are just too many good books out there to waist my time finishing this one. It was free so I’m not out anything but I’m deleting it from my library.
I enjoyed this cozy mystery. I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series
Ok. My usual type of mystery
good summer read
I couldn’t even finish this one. Poorly written. There were several times when the author’s prose left me scratching my head in confusion. I couldn’t understand what she was trying to say.
Lightweight mystery with improbable situation. Easy reading, but does not move me to read more of the author.
I liked this book very much!!
I enjoyed the characters. Sometimes a book takes an unexpected twist. It adds to the enjoyment of the mix.
I really enjoyed this book, enough that I would read another by this author. I did figure out the culprit early, but there was enough other mysteries to be entertaining.
Fun, who done it! Light reading, but entertaining!
Everyone seems to be guilty of something and they all have to be investigated to determine what. The new Sheriff doesn’t seem to be moving fast enough or looking in the right places. I really enjoyed reading this book and the surprise ending.
It was entertaining, but not a book I couldn’t put down. It’s light reading.
Cozy mystery lite reading. Great for reading while you sunbathe by the pool or at the beach.
This series has potential but there needs to be more character development. Also, Fiona and Daisy are best friends and yet there is very little interaction between them. I will NOT read another book in this series for one reason: the author’s obsession with the dog’s flatulence. Between the constant reference to this, the description of the dogs excrement and nearly the entire first chapter dedicated to the mess left in the toilet, I could easily believe the author is a twelve year old boy.
It was entertaining and kept me interested.
Great series Funny, witty, lots of twists and turns, I want to move to this town and meet these characters. Great story lines. When you read this one you will have to read the whole series, keeps you wanting more!
Really enjoyable rainy day read
good book
I liked this book, started reading it and couldn’t put it down until I reached the end. A nice light mystery without a lot of sex.
An easy and enjoyable read.
