PEACE AND QUIET CAN BE MURDER!Fiona Fleming had hoped inheriting her grandmother’s bed and breakfast and returning home to quiet Reading, VT would be a welcome escape from the city life in New York and her cheating ex-boyfriend. She figured the most excitement she’d face would be making beds, pesky customers and the awful stench coming from her grandmother’s ornery pug, Petunia. Instead, she … Instead, she finds herself elbow-deep in clogged toilets, the town blackmailer floating belly-up in her fish pond and she’s the prime suspect.
She’s soon looking for answers in the seedy-side of the tiny town and winds up in dangers she never even faced in the city. While she is surrounded with help from the odd cast of characters in this bizarre town, she’s not sure who she can trust. Her back-up, however, consists of her flighty yet fashionable childhood friend, her grandmothers nosy neighbor and her beloved father who seems to have secrets of his own. Then there’s the buried treasure she can’t figure out and how to get her mind off of how great the new sheriff’s backside looks in his uniform.
Can Fiona uncover the truth before the handsome sheriff puts her behind bars instead of asking her out?

Good mystery. Good book
By the end of page 2, I had to wipe my eyes and blow my nose from a good laugh and I knew was in for the long haul. Finally a light-hearted mystery with some humor, a sweet and lovable gal named Petunia, and maybe a hint of romance down the road a bit. A fun read!
Fun story line.
I agree with many of the reviewers here. The sentence structure and poor grammar made this an impossible read for me. I felt myself constantly reading sentences multiple times to make sense of them. Very poor editing which is disappointing since I think it’s a very good story line.
This is a very fun story that moves quickly, but has some twists that are unexpected.
Enjoyed the fast pace read of Fiona Fleming’s adventures.
Looking for a fun who dun it? This one had me wondering until the end!
Ending was unpredictable and really written really well.
Doris Chastain
I loved it from the first page til the ending one. I didn’t figure it out until the end. Great!!!
A great fun afternoon get way from it all read! Love the pudgy pug.
Very entertaining and a fast read!
I never read a book where the first chapter talks about poop so much. I started the second chapter and there it was again, did not finish the book
a good little cozy mystery will most likely read more of this arthur
Fun, light reading
Being new to the neighborhood and deciding who to trust when your livelihood is on the line makes for a challenge. Once you figure that out, you get your happy ever after. Good read.
This book was not well written, and the story was uninteresting.
Especially liked the dog!
I enjoyed it
I’m excited to read more books in this series! I love that the B&B was named after a dog and the main character was funny and interesting. I like the interaction between the B&B owner and the new sheriff – can’t wait to see how they end up together!
It was an OK read. I found parts of it a bit laborious, but that may be a gender thing, don’t know. Characters were quirky and interesting. Didn’t find myself identifying with them much, though.
