PEACE AND QUIET CAN BE MURDER!Fiona Fleming had hoped inheriting her grandmother’s bed and breakfast and returning home to quiet Reading, VT would be a welcome escape from the city life in New York and her cheating ex-boyfriend. She figured the most excitement she’d face would be making beds, pesky customers and the awful stench coming from her grandmother’s ornery pug, Petunia. Instead, she … Instead, she finds herself elbow-deep in clogged toilets, the town blackmailer floating belly-up in her fish pond and she’s the prime suspect.
She’s soon looking for answers in the seedy-side of the tiny town and winds up in dangers she never even faced in the city. While she is surrounded with help from the odd cast of characters in this bizarre town, she’s not sure who she can trust. Her back-up, however, consists of her flighty yet fashionable childhood friend, her grandmothers nosy neighbor and her beloved father who seems to have secrets of his own. Then there’s the buried treasure she can’t figure out and how to get her mind off of how great the new sheriff’s backside looks in his uniform.
Can Fiona uncover the truth before the handsome sheriff puts her behind bars instead of asking her out?
Book 1 in the Fiona Fleming Cozy Mystery series!
Can be read as a standalone but will be enjoyed more as part of the series.

Didn’t finish. Too cheesy and predictable.
I really enjoyed this book.
This was rather sweet. Easy read
Loved it! Left a review on Amazon.
Great book! Couldn’t put it down, I got so caught up in it! Did not figure out who did it until the very end, and I usually am able to figure it out. Easy to read, fast moving.
Fun Murder Mystery Read – Nice flow and word smithing by the author. Some sentences so descriptive and with such pleasant flow one wants to read it over and over. Interesting characters and connection to each other. And even if you’ve guessed the murderer … the end twist will be a surprise. AND who doesn’t love a farting pug. LOL!
The protagonist was plucky, although not the sharpest knife in the drawer. She was nosy almost to the point of being rude and put herself in harm’s way several times over the course of the book. She was lucky only 1 person actually tried to kill her, it could have been more given her actions. The story was interesting but a bit nerve wracking.
While it took me some time to get used to how wordy the thoughts of the protagonist were, I found myself getting immersed in the mystery and had a hard time putting it down. Our heroine is outspoken, fiery and while a bit too nosy, rather well intentioned. She’s a bit of a klutz when it comes to pretending to be lowkey, but a WHOLE lot of luck has saved her when things have a tendency to get out of hand.
I didn’t think that the mystery was too easy. I had already had an inkling early on to whom had done what, and I was right. What I didn’t know was the why. Why do what they did, and that is the reason I think that the mystery wasn’t too easy.
My interest in the series has been peaked and I’m definitely going to get my hands on the next book soon.
This was really a very good story, full of intrigue and guessing. Nicely written. BUT what I did not appreciate having to read all the time was about the pug and its farting and how she kept on feeding the dog food which added to its flatulence. She thought it was funny, I thought is was disgusting and certainly did not add anything positive to the story. Because of this I will not read another book written by her.
Entertaining and easy to read.
Typical, enjoyable cozy mystery with perhaps too much attempt at humor.
Very strange behaviors led to convuluted story and odd ending
Very interesting read, fast-paced. Would have been better without the constant storyline of the pug’s flatulence – the repetition became annoying. Otherwise, would recommend for entertainment.
Great quick read with a bit of humor and mystery!
This was a fun day read that kept me guessing until the end.
A good break from reading si-if. Adds a touch of whimsy to my reading.
I frequently get caught up reading a whole line of some cozy mysteries. Not everything appeals. I have had three pugs and love the puggy part of these novels, but I also like the characters and setting. I think I’m on my third. Then I take a break and maybe read something different. But they are fun.
I could not get through the first couple of pages
Hunky men, flirting and other juvenile pursuits
A fast paced cute cozy mystery leaning on YA. The main character leaves a bad relationship for a fresh start to Reading Vermont. Where she inherited Petunia her grandmothers’ BB and Pug. Only to have complications which includes a murder to solve.
