PEACE AND QUIET CAN BE MURDER!Fiona Fleming had hoped inheriting her grandmother’s bed and breakfast and returning home to quiet Reading, VT would be a welcome escape from the city life in New York and her cheating ex-boyfriend. She figured the most excitement she’d face would be making beds, pesky customers and the awful stench coming from her grandmother’s ornery pug, Petunia. Instead, she … Instead, she finds herself elbow-deep in clogged toilets, the town blackmailer floating belly-up in her fish pond and she’s the prime suspect.
She’s soon looking for answers in the seedy-side of the tiny town and winds up in dangers she never even faced in the city. While she is surrounded with help from the odd cast of characters in this bizarre town, she’s not sure who she can trust. Her back-up, however, consists of her flighty yet fashionable childhood friend, her grandmothers nosy neighbor and her beloved father who seems to have secrets of his own. Then there’s the buried treasure she can’t figure out and how to get her mind off of how great the new sheriff’s backside looks in his uniform.
Can Fiona uncover the truth before the handsome sheriff puts her behind bars instead of asking her out?

good read
Did not like it at all!!!
Pug owners will probably love this book & be able to identify with the humorous struggles Fee has.
I liked this book. It’s a who done it and you’re going to be surprised by who did.
The heroine is a young woman who took over her grandmother’s B&B. and
she inherited a crazy funny pug and the staff as well. A murder takes place and she sticks her nose where it doesn’t belong trying to get to the bottom of things.
Hope you enjoy it.
Well written book with great characters. Set in a small town in Vermont. The main character inherited a B&B from her grandmother. Having no experience she ran into some interesting problems including murder and drugs, and of course a great looking sheriff. Unexpected twist in the end.
Even after I put the book down, I was wondering what would happen next and had to rush through my activities so I could get back to reading. I look forward to more books by this author!
It was a good read. Would definitely read books by this author again
Fun summer read!
Cute little story-good for easybread
The story line was well done but the language was out of my comfort zone. I probably will not read another. Too bad because she is a born story teller.
Didn’t finish. I thought the reviews that complained about the first chapter’s focus on poop exaggerated. They didn’t.
This is, admittedly, a light hearted read but what’s wrong with that? That was _exactly_ why I selected this book to read in the first place. I can easily recommend this book for anyone who wants a good, honest, well thought-out plot with some interesting characters.
Light and cute
light reading for summer beach or goof off time
Very slow…couldn’t get into it
Very well written. Kept moving right along with no long drawn out pauses.
Very good book
Enjoyed it very much. It was a little slow coming to the point of the story but it kept my interest. Loved all the characters in the story.
Very enjoyable. Looking forward to more of this series
It was a bit boring at times and the “twists” that were supposed to be shocking were a little underwhelming and not that surprising. It was worth the read (but hey I got it free) but don’t think I will be reading any of the sequels.
