PEACE AND QUIET CAN BE MURDER!Fiona Fleming had hoped inheriting her grandmother’s bed and breakfast and returning home to quiet Reading, VT would be a welcome escape from the city life in New York and her cheating ex-boyfriend. She figured the most excitement she’d face would be making beds, pesky customers and the awful stench coming from her grandmother’s ornery pug, Petunia. Instead, she … Instead, she finds herself elbow-deep in clogged toilets, the town blackmailer floating belly-up in her fish pond and she’s the prime suspect.
She’s soon looking for answers in the seedy-side of the tiny town and winds up in dangers she never even faced in the city. While she is surrounded with help from the odd cast of characters in this bizarre town, she’s not sure who she can trust. Her back-up, however, consists of her flighty yet fashionable childhood friend, her grandmothers nosy neighbor and her beloved father who seems to have secrets of his own. Then there’s the buried treasure she can’t figure out and how to get her mind off of how great the new sheriff’s backside looks in his uniform.
Can Fiona uncover the truth before the handsome sheriff puts her behind bars instead of asking her out?

Light summer reading.
Easy read a nice way to spend aday
One thing got in the way of my really enjoying this book. I got so very tired of hearing about the dog passing gas. To me it’s bathroom humor and suited more to a book for preteen boys. It really ruined a good story.
I like a good mystery and this was a good one
Good description of b&b
It was a cute summer read, predictable, but fun…a B & B I’d like to visit If you like dogs you’ll enjoy it and if you like pugs, you’ll love it
I read a lot of mysteries and this one is great. I didn’t see the real murder coming. Held my interest to the very end.
Loving this book, great author and great series. Funny relaxing murder mystery.
Fun read
Really enjoyed reading it!
This is an intriguing mystery that gets more and more complicated as the story unfolds. The story is a quick and easy read and even has a bit of a twist for an ending.
I expected nothing more than a “fluffy” little mystery but was delighted to find a good story, interesting characters (Petunia the pug, alone, is worth the read), liberal lacings of humor courtesy of the protagonist Fiona “Fee” Fleming and a bit of a surprise when the killer’s motive is revealed.
Enjoyed this book. Makes me want to read more by this author.
A little slow at the start, but picks up quickly. A fun read!
ALL RIGHT NOT VERY ORIGONAL BUT STILL A GOOD READ
Like these books and the characters, an enjoyable read.
Oh, I can relate to being intimidated by your father, even though you are an adult. And seeing old schoolmates that you didn’t care for is a fear of mine, but I like the way she puts them in their place. Nice, easy read.
Fun…just finishing up the book…..entertaining and great characters……
Hope to read more of this author in the future…!
Loved this book! Great characters!
Although the characters are spot on, the pacing is off and the writing is amateurish. I wanted to like this book, but I kept getting lost and having to go back. Never a good sign in a cosy. The writer needs to trim the characters back and cling tighter to the plot.
