ONE EXCEPTIONAL READ!!!
Wow! I loved the way this tale played out. Hands down its one fantastic read that captures your attention from the start. This bad boy right here has more drama than a sane person could handle, good thing I’m not sane. The characters were intriguing, complex and realistic. Following the characters along mesmerized as their personalities transformed and blended. Twists, turns and unpredictable surprises around every corner that will leave you reeling. A whirlwind of emotions that could bring you to your knees one second or lift you to the heavens in the next. Debra did an excellent job bringing this read together beautifully. Phenomenal job Debra, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
Ana has a red birthmark on her face in the shape of a star and has always been the target of bullies at school. Skylar and her group of wannabees are the biggest thorns in her side. While at the Winter Formal dance at school, somehow the punch bowl just happens to be overturned onto Ana so she looks similar to Carrie in the Stephen King novel. Jeremy returns from the bathroom and takes Ana away from the dance. On the way home, their car ends up crashing headfirst into a huge tree. Jeremy is killed but Ana survives and now she feels guilty. Ry shows up and carries Ana away from the wreckage. Two years later, Jayden, the green-eyed boy from her dreams, turns up. The magic Ana has keeps showing up in small ways when her emotions are in play. Now, around every corner it seems, there are dark shadows chasing her, wanting to kill Ana. This Cinderella retelling is fun to read, contains action, some romantic feelings, and ends in a cliffhanger. Highly recommended.
I freaking love Debra I have followed her since day 1 and this is another spectacular read!! She has amazing style and always has the best covers!

Becoming: The Balance Bringer (A Coming of Age Fantasy / Epic Fantasy with Elemental Magic) (The Balance Bringer Chronicles Book 1)
A great YA Fantasy
This book was so finely crafted, and had such wonderful characters!
I enjoyed reading about Ana and her journey finding out what she was. I need the next book now!

Soon though she sees one from there in this world. The divisions are going and now dangerous. Turn the pages to see if she can get her powers under control or if there will be destruction.

Our heroine is discovering that she has powers and those powers have consequences if she doesn’t get them under control. Of course, that is easier said than done.
This is book one of the series, so a fine place to start.
This is an urban fantasy story with a young adult bent to it. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting that seems more dream than reality, at least at the beginning. The characters are also well done. They start off very green and then manage to grow throughout the series. They still have a ways to go, but then that is the gist of the story. Overall, I enjoyed the introduction to a new world and look forward to seeing where it leads.
Highly recommended.

Emotionally thrilling, heart racing adventure filled with magical and exciting charters, witty dialog, exciting twists and dangerous turns. An edge of your seat, highly entertaining and so hard to put down journey from beginning to end. Great reading!
A great fantasy story. Well written with amazing characters and storyline. At the beginning it is a little slow but it gets really good after. I really enjoyed this read and can not wait for more.

Ana thought she was going crazy. She was having realistic dreams about people she had never met in a place she was sure didn’t exist. She was wrong. Seven months after her seventeenth birthday, things started happening in her world. Something dark seemed to be after her. She finds that the other place does exist and both this world and that one are out of balance. Apparently she is destined to be the Balance Bringer who would save both worlds. She needed to get her powers under control to be able to stand a chance.
This is such a wonderful series! It helps to read Mystic Maker first, but Awakening works if read first.
Poor Ana is beset by strange dreams, an overprotective best friend and mother, strange eyes and a birthmark. She has a talent for working with crystals, is faster and stronger than other teenage girls so is a target for the mean girls.
Her mother has kept her true history and destiny a secret so Ana is thrown into her fated course with no knowledge of what is happening. What follows is an epic adventure that has you laughing, crying and turning page after page. I am eagerly awaiting the next in this fabulous series.

I used the word Intense to describe this book because that is what is it from the start to the finish. So much is going on and Ana must learn what she is capable of and get over her insecurities. A very interesting beginning to the series and I cannot wait for the next book. No one is who they appear to be and that keeps you reading to find out more. A really good read which I would recommend to all.

Although the book has a slow start it does slowly build and dragged me into the story. It slowly became interesting and kept me reading to figure out what was going on and how it all fit together. But it turned out better then expected and I liked the characters.
Wow! With lots of threads, fantasy, dreams, secrets and reality, Debra Kristi weaves a fantastic story about 18 year old Ana who can’t understand the powers she seems to exhibit and feels her mother knows more than she’s telling her. Steeped in grief for her boyfriend’s death she climbs within herself going about things day to day while things keep changing and she feels something dark is after her and she is so confused about the changes and her powers and she goes within her dream world of Hiddenkel – but is it a dream world. What is real, why is so much happening she can’t understand. I love the descriptions as the author creates and incredible movie of the mind. We see her confusion between Jaden and Dohlan. With so many twists and turns and some humor, this books keeps you reading right to the end without putting it down. Will Ana find herself, control her newly found powers and save Hiddenkel, her family and the universe without destroying everything she loves? I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Such a great story. It was a little slow in the beginning but quickly picked to what will be a great series. A well crafted story that has such awesome potential. The characters are intriguing with a lot of depth and the plot concept is riveting.
