Beckett and Harlow were childhood friends. Beckett moved away at age of 12. Both were heartbroken vowing to keep in touch. one day in a violent rage, his mom got rid of one way or another his phone and computer. As adult Beckett never forgot about Harlow, always trying to find her. This is a second chance romance with dangerous stalker.
Nicholas Donald Malcolm narration is very good. I was gifted this audio book and offered my honest review.
I really enjoyed Beckett and Harlow’s story these two are fantastic characters that you cannot help but love and root for this was a good well-written book that will suck you in and keep you hooked right until the very end. This was a super read and I would definitely recommend it.
I’m reviewing the audio edition of this story. This is such a heartbreaking story. Beckett as a child is treated worse than awful my his mother. Even at school he is bullied until Harlow starts protecting him. They become best friends. He is even treated well by Harlow’s family. Then his mom’s situation causes them to move. He loses touch with Harlow. A few major things happen to both of them before they reconnect. SPOILER ALERT: The only problem I have with this story is I don’t think any abused child ever outgrows those feelings. I don’t think any reason excuses the abuses to the point the child understands and forgives. Other than that part this is a good story. I feel Nicholas Donald Malcolm the Narrator brought the story to life. I really enjoy audio’s because of the added sense of the characters a good Narrator can bring out in a story. I look forward to the next book in the series. I was given a free copy and this is a voluntary review.
Story line is great and I loved the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I would recommend it! Unexpected twists and turns had me reading this book in one sitting. Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read!

Beckett
Second Chance, Book 1
By: SM Stryker
Narrated by: Nicholas Donald Malcolm
There is nothing better than a second chance romance where the couple has known each other since childhood. Beckett met Harlow when he was 6, and with a mother who could care less about him was taken under the wing of his friend Harlow and her family. When he was uprooted, and eventually lost touch, their childhood love for each other did not die. Now that they are reunited, will that spark still be there? I loved this book from start to finish. It starts out heartbreaking when we hear about Beckett and I wasn’t sure where this was going to go. Beckett is a little dark, and has some issues, but you can’t help but want to fix him up. He is broken, yet lovable. Harlow is a rock for him, though there are times I was completely frustrated by her. I did love her personality and loving way she loved him, both as a child and as a man. There are some complex problems, they need to overcome, as in SM Stryker fashion, she adds a little suspense to give your heart that thrill. It’s a great listen.
This is my first listen by Nicholas Donald Malcolm and I loved his voice. He has a deep, rich sound and is wonderful as Beckett. He can be emotional and strong at the same time. He also switched between male and female voices with ease and made the listen very enjoyable.

Awesome Story & Audible Listen BeckettHarlow Girl!
Beckett
Second Chance, Book 1
By: SM Stryker
Narrated by: Nicholas Donald Malcolm
I loved everything about this audiobook, from S.M. Stryker’s fabulous writing style to the story and characters she created to Nicholas Donald Malcolm’s narration. This story is realistic and it grabbed both my heart and attention right from the start and held it straight to end. I first met Beckett in Mitchell, the second book and I was intrigued by him and wanted to learn more about him. This book starts off in his younger years, at four years old he had already learned to fend for himself. His saving grace was Harlow, the girl next door, the two became best of friends and her family took him under their wings. Harlow’s Dad was awesome to him, saw the goodness in Beckett and how smart he was. Beckett was sad when he found out he would be moving away, he and Harlow shared a special bond and they promised each other to always stay in touch. But his abusive mother ruined all that for him with her actions and he was not able to hold true promise and the two fell out of touch. My heart broke for Beckett, his terrible home life and then to have a rough time in school, being picked on. Things start looking up for him, he worked on getting stronger and then landing a job with Richard. Beckett never stopped thinking of Harlow, he even tried to find her but never could. But it turns out she was closer than he thought and they find their way to each other again. Only problem is Harlow comes with trouble. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted with plenty of drama, action, a bit of angst, some twists and turns, thrilling suspense, some heartbreaking moments, heartfelt ones and an awesome romance and second chance to live and love. This story runs concurrently with Mitchell’s so it was great seeing those characters again. Thank you S.M. Stryker for another terrific story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Nicholas Donald Malcolm is a talented narrator and voice artist. He brings the characters to life giving each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. He does a great job projecting the characters emotions and the drama of the story into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for a great listen
This second chance story is about two childhood friends who grow up and become much more. I loved that Beckett and Harlow met when they were very young and how they never forgot each other. They meet up years later and their connection is stronger than ever. I enjoyed Beck and Harlow’s story and I was cheering for them from the start. Drama, suspense and a great ending make this a must read.
This is a wonderful story that at times is very intense and emotional. Harlow and Beckett were childhood friends who due to circumstances beyond their control lost contact with each other, but they never forget each other. They eventually meet up again years later and have some issues to sort through as they rekindle their friendship. Their inner connection never died as they have amazing chemistry together. I suggest you grab this book and a box of tissues, sit down, lean back and enjoy a really brilliant story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Is it really a second chance if it never happened to begin with.
Finding that lost love seems to be the plot here. But not much of a romantic story it was just a romantic gesture.

Second Chances

I have to say, I enjoyed reading this book so much. I completely fell for Beckett.
I had to put this book down a couple of times, because of the emotional issues that are contained within this book.
The chemistry between the characters and their story, are the epitome of finding lost love, and never letting go.
Wow, this book, even shows you how to forgive the past mistakes of others.
This the first time and definitely not the last, that I’ll ever read anything from this author.
So…

OMG this was an amazing and emotional story but definitely worth reading. This is the first book that I have read by this author but definitely not the last. This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride but you have to keep turning the page’s to see what will happen next. There is so much sadness, heartache and physical and emotional pain and abuse but I just couldn’t stop reading it even though it made me cry at times. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is so well written and worth reading.
This was an enjoyable read. Beckett grew up with a terrible home life. He became friends with Harlow at a young age. Unfortunately he ended up moving away and due to some dram with his mother he lost touch with her. One day at the bakery he finds her and he hopes for a second chance. However, her abusive ex has other plans. Thankfully in the end it all works out and they get their happy ending.
Goodness gracious…. This was awful. The book was poorly written and the characters came across so juvenile. I really struggled with this one.
