I received a copy of Because we Dreamed from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
Wow, a hard topic: the miscarriage of a baby. The story of what Angus and Amy went through was very moving. I love how it portrayed how God can take something so difficult and use it in our lives as we trust in Him and looking back you can see God’s hand moving throughout as he brought different ones together in the story. Psalm 27 is a wonderful chapter of encouragement and in the story, God uses it in the lives of Angus, Amy and others.
It was an emotional book to read, but well written on the hard topic of miscarriage and pro-life.
Because We Dreamed is a well-written book that deals with tough issues: miscarriage, temptation, and abuse. Not all of those are issues that our main characters face. Amy and Angus are both likable, easy to relate to, and make errors of judgment. I enjoyed reading about how they learned and grew throughout the story. This book made me feel along with them. There are important truths woven seamlessly into the book. This is one of my favorite’s of Juliette Duncan’s works. I highly recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
I was given an ARC of this book. What a tear jerking story of a young couple’s dream of being parents is shattered through a miscarriage. We all grieve in our own way, some reach out and others withdraw to themselves. Amy’s withdrawal and need to get away from the reality of it leads to an unlikely friendship bond that not only results in a reality check of her emotions and focus, but restores her faith in God’s promise to never forsake us. Juliette Duncan never ceases to amaze me in her story telling.
What a true to life story! The anguish of Amy and Angus is so realistic. The scripture that encouraged them both has become my new favorite!! The way that God brought them together with Marta was so inspiring! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one! I was given a copy of this book by the author and this review is of my thoughts.

It is often AMAZING how God answers our dreams. Not always the way we want . . .and normally not as quickly as we want! LOVED this book!!!

Get the kleenex ready, you’re going to need them for this book! This is the story of a couples grief dealing with a miscarriage. Everybody grieves differently and at a different pace, but the pain is there. This book is full of God’s love and how He is the only one who can truly help us handle any kind of grief. This is a book that you don’t forget when you read the last page. I love how the author places bible verses through out the story that will lift you up as you read. I received an ARC copy of this book and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
I really enjoyed this book, the third one in the series. In this one, the plot is different. I wasn’t expecting the outcome. Ms. Duncan is so good at character development that you feel as though you know each person. It’s the story of Amy, Angus, and Marta. They become involved with each other because of babies. I don’t want to give the plot away, so that’s all I’ll say. You need to read this book. Ms. Duncan weaves Christian values and scripture into the book in such a meaningful way. Get a copy and read it. I was given an ARC, but this review is mine alone.
