Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected of places…
This is not one of those times.
Everyone expects Billie Bridgerton to marry one of the Rokesby brothers. The two families have been neighbors for centuries, and as a child the tomboyish Billie ran wild with Edward and Andrew. Either one would make a perfect husband… someday.
Sometimes you fall in love with exactly the person you … love with exactly the person you think you should…
Or not.
There is only one Rokesby Billie absolutely cannot tolerate, and that is George. He may be the eldest and heir to the earldom, but he’s arrogant, annoying, and she’s absolutely certain he detests her. Which is perfectly convenient, as she can’t stand the sight of him, either.
But sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor…
Because when Billie and George are quite literally thrown together, a whole new sort of sparks begins to fly. And when these lifelong adversaries finally kiss, they just might discover that the one person they can’t abide is the one person they can’t live without…

I loved this book. It was very entertaining.
I loved all the books from the Bridgerton`s series. They are fun, the dialogues are entertaining. It is a book you laugh when you read it if you like this kind of humour.
A new favorite! I thoroughly enjoyed the banter and humor in this book, as well as, the family history of their story that led them to each other.
I love everything Julia Quinn writes!
A real tomboy who could be lady when she chose finds love with someone whom she thought she disliked.
Great read. Light reading. Brings a smile to your face.
This is the first Julia Quinn book I’ve ever read, but it will not be the last. (I’m currently reading ‘The Duke and I’ and loving it.) Don’t know about you guys, but sometimes I just need to read a book that makes me feel good, especially when the world is wearing its crazy pants. This is that kind of book. I LOVED the characters in this book, especially the heroine. She was a girl after my own heart. The hero was perfect…for her. I love stories where the characters have known each other for years, but only recently noticed each other and didn’t get along. They make my heart pitter-patter. The book wasn’t perfect, but it was perfect for me and just what I needed. If you enjoy historical romances with witty dialogue and interesting characters, then definitely give this one a go.
A little different Regency Romance!
One of my favorites! I’d give it 10 stars if I could
I love it when people who seem to be so wrong for each other turn out to be “THE ONE”. The banter between the two lead character’s is wonderful and it’s just a great story in general. The entire series is worth reading.
read all I can from Julia Quinn!
I love this whole series from this author!
Really enjoyed this book!!!!
Loved the main characters!!!
Regency banter and friends to lovers in extraordinary Quinn style!
I will say I read Andrew’s book first not realizing I didn’t read in order. I did like this book but not as much. I realize there is world building done in this story that takes time.
Billie was a total tomboy and I loved it. Though her judgy behavior towards George drove me a bit nuts. George was a bit judgy as well but he let it go a little faster. I didn’t start flying through the story until their camaraderie and banter took off. I think Billie forgave too fast and too easy after the ball. I felt George let a comment made by Billie that bothered him disappeared without asking her about it.
I loved Andrew in this book and if I hadn’t read his book first I would have been dying to read it. Now I need to dig into Edward’s book so I can catch up completely with the prequels.
Author is usually good
Love the plot
Great read
Julia Quinn is my favorite regency romance author ( next to Georgette Heyer of course). The Bridgestone series is well written and every one is amusing with delightful characters and plots.
The Bridgertons are my absolute favorite characters.
