“BECAUSE IT’S CHRISTMAS is a super modern day retelling of the classic IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.” Painted Rock Reviews
To most people in the small town of Bayview … town of Bayview Heights, high school principal Seth Taylor is a hero. But Seth has never forgotten the mistakes he made years ago with his students. And neither has reporter Lacey Cartwright, because one involved her brother, who’s now in jail. With her grandfather pressuring her to destroy Seth in the town newspaper, Seth invites Lacey to come to the school and see what the teachers really do with kids. Attraction then love flares between these two star-crossed people. If Lacey starts to show her support—and her true feelings—for Seth, will she lose what’s left of her family?

Fun easy read
Because It’s Christmas by Kathryn Shay
Have read many of the authors books and have enjoyed them.
Starts out with Lacey and she’s there to visit with her brother in prison as she tries to rehab him before he gets out.
He was the one who helped their grandfather when he had the heart attack…
Seth Taylor is the one who put him in prison. She’s a writer for the paper and Seth is the school principal.
Story also follows Seth and how he wants to run the school. Lacey has her own ideas and has voiced them in the paper.
Story also follows Kevin and his stay in prison and what he goes through…
Lots of action and drama and sensual scenes. Secrets that come to light….controversy and compromises and negotiations.
Other works by the author are highlighted at the end and an excerpt from the next in the series.
Free copy via Kindle.
Very nice evening read.
Loved this book! Feel good ending
I very much enjoyed this book. I even cried for the main characters. Any book that can evoke tears from me is a really good book. There was so much I liked about this book. Characters were well developed, the writing drew me in, the sex was not overdone. I actually read through most of the sex scenes, which is a rarity for me as I generally scan through them to get back to the story since they rarely add anything significant to the story. Also, I read at least 4 or 5 books a week and VERY rarely give 5 stars.
Second book I have read in this series the Kathryn Shay. I loved both of them. T
Dialogue is great. Thoroughly enjoyed the story. Was enjoyable, relaxing.
Wonderful book
It’s a one day book. Cute
Love this book
This Christmas story captured the spirit of the season by allowing families face the harsh realities of personal choice.
Seth was an amazing principal that attempts to help children as they struggle with the difficult situations of Being a teen.
I enjoyed the concepts they came up with. It was an emotional read.
Faithfulness and love of family and friends is heartwarming though problematic for the characters and for the reader. Kathryn Shay is a good writer. She grabs attention quickly; that is important.
A year later: I gave this books 4 stars. Why doesn’t the 4th star show up?
Very good….but my personal taste is to leave out the sex scenes…..there were not many and I was thankful for that.
Great story with wonderful characters. Emotions from grief to extreme happiness throughout the book. Ms. Shay doesn’t disappoint! The well-written story with fantastic characters made the story hard to put down.
I enjoyed reading this book. I only wished the tension was built up just a bit more. Phillip needed more aggression. I’m not sure what should have been done about Kevin, but I didn’t like what happened.
I loved Seth and lacey eye opener as to the depth schools get rated and stamped as problems arise. The romance is a plus for these two and so much to over come. I loved the plot.
I enjoyed following Seth and Lacey though dealing with adult attraction and perceived responsibilities. There was a development of the characters in accepting that other adults they loved had to take responsibility for their own actions and not escape by passing blame onto others.
Katherine Shay always delivers. Her characters deal with real-life problems. You learn a bit more about continuing characters in her series.
Brought tears to my eyes.
I love this book
