The delicious and erotically charged sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, from the author of Beauty’s Kingdom. This sequel to The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, the first of Anne Rice’s (writing as A.N. Roquelaure) elegantly written volumes of erotica, continues her explicit, teasing exploration of the psychology of human desire. Now Beauty, having indulged in a secret and forbidden … a secret and forbidden infatuation with the rebellious slave Prince Tristan, is sent away from the Satyricon-like world of the Castle. Sold at auction, she will soon experience the tantalizing punishments of “the village,” as her education in love, cruelty, dominance, submission, and tenderness is turned over to the brazenly handsome Captain of the Guard. And once again Rice’s fabulous tale of pleasure and pain dares to explore the most primal and well-hidden desires of the human heart. Preceding the visceral eroticism of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey and Sylvia Day’s Bared to You, and even more haunting than her own novel Belinda, this second installment is not to be missed.

I’ve really enjoyed the World created by A. N. Roquelaure, it is an interesting and complex world.
The whole series is awesome. Very graphic, sexually.
I loved this entire series! I could not get enough of it.
It’s not easy to write sex into EVERY SINGLE PAGE of a novel… but Anne Rice does exactly that. She does it three times, but this book, the second in the trilogy, is my favorite. Strip away the gilding, the excess and the court of the Queen, throw Beauty and Tristan onto the auction block, sell them to cruel and exacting masters, and well… HOT! So freaking hot. Love this book so much!
–Alice Bello is the author of Hate Him XOXO, Want Him, Holding onto Hope, Bette’s Turn, Saint Sex, Min’s Vampire and Un-Dateable.
This was an 18 year old “man,” and a 15 year old girl captive. I didn’t even make it to 20 pages.
I’m a huge Anne Rice fan, and I love anything she writes, and fall in love with all her characters everytime I read or reread one of her books. With the Sleeping Beauty books, she has taken a childhood fairytale and made it for adults only.
I saw several reviews that didn’t like this book, but I enjoyed it as much as the first three books. Lots of steamy scenes and a story line
Confusing
This book was just silly
I read the series when it first was published many years ago. This series makes Fifty Shades look like a kindergarten primer.
I had to read all three of this series – I’ve read all her vampire books and I was curious. Her intro says her books are the beginning of porn in books, and I was curious! I can’t say I loved them but they were thought provoking.
I found the second book of the series too predictable and felt the characters could have been better developed
I read a couple chapters and was so grossed out I couldn’t continue. I love a little BDSM as much as the next girl but this guy is a full on predator and rape is rape…. trust me, skip this one
If you enjoy Anne Rice’s sexual novels, this is also one.
I had read the three book series back in the early 90’s or somewhere therebouts. I was captivated, stunned and titalated at the whole premis of sex slaves and the things they were made to do. So I thought I would revisit the book again when I saw it. Different age, different mindset now – didn’t like, didn’t bother to finish. Too much punishment and humiliation for my current tastes.
Constant eroticism
Oh my goodness… Wonderful
Ugh
The books in this series are great !
Too over the top, too much, became ridiculous
