They call me “The Beast” for a reason. Locked away in my cold, dark mansion overlooking the treacherous cliffs that haunt me, I want for nothing…except her. The moment she set foot in my lair, her fate was sealed. I will claim her, make her mine… I’ll be her daddy.Annabelle:He can buy anything he wants. He wants me. He’s a wealthy, domineering recluse; I’m dirt poor. He’s accomplished and … I’m dirt poor. He’s accomplished and sophisticated; I’m a twenty-year-old virgin. But I can’t say no.To get closer to him, I will sacrifice everything — my freedom, my heart…my innocence. The attraction between us leaves me begging, and when he’s done with me…
I’ll be daddy’s good little girl.

Beauty’s daddy
I read this book a few years ago when I first started venturing into the romance genre and decided it was time for a reread. I listened to the audiobook this second go around and it’s safe to say that my taste in books has not changed much.
If you prefer your heroes to be dark, mysterious and brooding, then you’ve come to the right place. Gunnar Qualen’s and Jenna St Claire’s voice made these characters all to real. With Jane’s heavy emotion and Gunnar’s deep voice these two narrators made this story come to life made the reading experience much more enjoyable.
This modern retelling of Beauty and The Beast features a daddy kink trope, that’s a bit dark and a whole lot of dirty, with a dominant alpha who is always commanding and at times snappy. Or shall I say heavy-handed? But that just makes the chemistry and and build-up that much more intense. Add in some drama and you’ve got yourself a delightfully, naughty cocktail.
A beauty and the beast retelling with some super hot parts added! This book was so fun to listen to with some amazing narration that brought it to life beautifully.
A Sexy, Boundary Pushing Tale that Sadly Falls Flat…
In my late teens I moved from the midwest to NYC. And for the first ten years there, I had the opportunity to meet all different sorts of folks within the clubs and bars I worked. It was a world I cherished as it filled me, for the first time ever in my life, with a sense of belonging and safety. As I grew, surrounded by the rich fabric of individuals who absorbed themselves deeply into bdsm communities. I became instilled with a deep respect for one’s right to feel how they feel, need what they need, and love (and be loved) how they want and need.
“Beauty’s Daddy” by Jane Henry, a modern, kink fueled retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Is a perfect example of this edict I live by, the tenet, “your kink is not my kink, but your kink is okay”.
It is the story of Sawyer, a thirty-something, reclusive billionaire, known barely above the realm of whispered rumors and frightening campfire tales after the mysterious death of his fiancee years earlier. And Annabelle, a strong and intelligent 20 year old. Who, after the death of her father, has to sacrifice her own bright future to care for her younger sister and ailing mother. A young woman struggling to stay above the rising tide of financial ruin and abject poverty.
What follows is a dark and heartfelt tale of surrender and second chances. A razor sharp, blunt presentation of a damaged and brooding “Daddy” finding his bratty but completely innocent and naive “little girl”. A girl he becomes compelled to take care of, spoil, and break in ways that burn him deeply with sadness, while igniting something far deeper in her. Their’s is a fast and fierce connection that lead you in ways that will, in places, make you wonder where the lines between private and public actually are in this demanding, boundary pushing piece of literary titillation.
Fair warning, if you are not already familiar with the range of all things “Daddy Trope”. This book may not be for you, as it features strong themes of violence tinged D/s power exchanges where consent is ambiguous. An undertone, that for some, may be beyond the realm of acceptable. However, none of what is portrayed goes beyond the inherent natures of the characters within. And in and of itself, leads to a deeper understanding of why Sawyer and Annabelle need each other in ways they themselves don’t initially, fully understand.
Unfortunately though, for as brave and boundary pushing as “Beauty’s Daddy” is, it sadly doesn’t follow through with its exploration. Leaving sizable gaps in the events of the overall story, stopping far too short within the exploration of Sawyer and Annabelle’s relationship from Paris to the end. A jump in pacing so abrupt it left me feeling as though a large chunk was missing towards the back third of the book.
Where the first 20 chapters are a slow, delicious crawl toward truth and personal discovery. It suddenly jumps in pace straight to the end. As a result you are left wondering how (or even if) Sawyer resolves his long held guilt, and fear of breaking Annabelle. Left wondering how their love actually grows and cements itself before the epilogue. And whether or not aspects of the diary confirm or dismiss Sawyer’s beliefs about why his fiancee really falls to her death. Something that is presented at the beginning as being at the very core of why he is the beast that he is now.
It was a truly disappointing set of omissions. Omissions for me that took what should have been a truly interesting and scintillating, 5 star read, into just another okay, but surface dwelling, 2.5 star “Daddy” book.
this was a sexy compelling version of beauty and the beast but set in modern times.
I loved the characters and how their relationship developed.
Beauty’s Daddy by Jane Henry is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with mild BDSM themes that I listened to on audio narrated by Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire.
I absolutely love Jane’s books! She does an amazing job making you fall in love with her Dom’s. They are strong alpha males that have a heart of gold. I loved this twist on Beauty and The Beast.
I really enjoyed the dual narration by Gunnar and Jenna. This is the second book that I have had the narrators do the chapters together and I love it! It just brings the story to life and makes it so much easier to follow along with the storyline.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves BDSM, Alpha Males, and Modern Day Fairytales.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
Beauty’s Daddy is a modern day taboo retelling of the classic Beaty and the Beast. I enjoyed the story with quite a bit of steamy scenes but at times felt it was rushed. It moved a tad fast to the taboo setting but at the same time it fit. The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Great listen.
This is the first book in the Billionaire Daddies Series. Annabelle and Sawyer’s story is interesting and steamy. This is a retelling of The Beauty and The Beast with a sexy twist. Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire did a great narration.
Beauty & Her Very Own Beast! 4.5 Enjoyable Stars!
Beauty’s Daddy
Billionaire Daddies, Book 1
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Gunnar Qualen, Jenna St. Claire
Series: Billionaire Daddies, Book 1
Jane Henry’s dark & dirty take on the classic Beauty & the Beast. It is a well written and well told story with interesting storylines and some nice twists. The characters are well developed, Annabelle was a bit naive, not knowing what she was getting herself into, but she adapted quickly. Sebastian, the beastly reclusive billionaire, has issues and appears to be dark and twisted. Annabelle manages to break the barriers he has around his heart. Can he be her Prince Charming? This is an entertaining, fast paced story with some D/s scenes and a lot of heart.
I listened to the Audible edition, Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire did a terrific job narrating and telling the story. They perform all the voices and bring the characters to life from the pages to your ears. Thanks for an entertaining listen.

Wowza! This is not your normal beauty and the beast fairytale… its the adult version and so much more fun! Although there are some one liners that remind me of the original story and it made this story so much better! I loved the sexual tension and the slow burn! I loved how she fought every step of the way and didn’t just instantly submit. The yummy ‘bad girl’ spankings made this book so much more fun! This book is super hot like you need some alone time with your b.o.b but aside from that.. I loved the chemistry with the characters and how its almost just like the real story… if you squint a little bit 😉 I loved how it showed all aspects of their relationship, the good and the bad. This was just an all around awesome wonderful story that I would love to read over and over again! Highly recommend!
A little dark, a little twisted, supremely captivating story. I was drawn into Annabelle and Sawyer’s story right from the start. She is having the worst bad day ever, she’s over burdened and over worked and he is just an angry dude who had a tree on his shoulder. Why anyone would want to live in that stifling little town is beyond me, but it does feed into the story quite nicely. It always seems to be dark and rainy, I’m imagining Washington state in the springtime. Gavin should have been arrested for harassment long before the story starts, but again, he feeds the drama too, so I get his purpose. Sawyer’s past is huge and Annabelle’s present is just as heavy, so they are kind of made for eachother. The BDSM stuff was a part of the story too and it was nicely written with scenes that were detailed and complete. I love the way this author breathes life into her characters and makes you want to care about what happens to them. I was riveted from start to finish.
Ah, what a wonderful love story!
Sawyer is a dark, mysterious, growly beast of a man who doesn’t know what he should do with Annabelle, despite knowing exactly what he wants to do with her! Annabelle is just wise enough to know the kind of threat that Sawyer poses to her, but like the classic tale, she sees enough of his hidden heart to know she’s safe with him.
Their romance is deeply touching, sweet and steamy, with all the familiar elements in an updated, contemporary setting. The author leaves no emotional stone unturned as the characters are stripped of all pretense and fitted together like missing halves of a whole. It’s a beautiful story, exquisitely told. It’s one I’ll read again and again.
OMGODDESS this is a fantastic story. Sawyer and Annabelle are the most loveable characters. I fell in love with them both. She is sweet, loving, with just the right amount of sass. He is all Alpha Male. Their journey is one you want to go on. The writing and flow of this book is top notch. Highly recommend this book.
Jane Henry has become an auto buy for me whenever her books come out. This is a take on Beauty and the Beast and I have to say it’s one of the best versions I’ve read of this classic tale. Sawyer and Annabelle are perfect for each other and their story is HOT. It has all the things I like in a story, struggles, attraction to each other, and sexiness all around. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up, you will love it
Very easy read. Nice twist to the Beauty and the Beast Fairytale.
A modern day, all grown up, and extremely delicious version of Beauty and the Beast.
An innocent younger woman, with the weight of the world on her shoulders, literally runs into the man that is about to change her entire life. If only she wasn’t running and not paying attention, none of this would have happened. No sense in dwelling on the negative, she tries to right the wrong.
A slightly older man living in the prison he built for himself, cursing himself to a life that is very lonely and broken, takes the chance to adventure out. The adventure he thought he would enjoy has only caused him grief and frustration, and a strange new partnership. This partnership will help him change his future, he hopes.
Annabelle and Sawyer meet to go over the details of this partnership. Sawyer has a darker side about him. He comes across to Annabelle as suave, handsome and yet in his eyes she sees pain, fear and anger. The signing of the agreement is done. Annabelle is requested to start immediately. When her sister talks to her and fills her in on the gossip about Sawyer, she is shocked and a bit fearful. However, once at his residence, Annabelle realizes that there is a whole other side to this man.
Sawyer doesn’t permit disobeying his rules. Annabelle doesn’t realize right away, but along with this agreement there are also rules she WILL abide by. Sawyer realizes quickly that there are lessons that will need to be taught. Annabelle learns quickly that Sawyer means what he says. Annabelle and Sawyer disagree, argue and learn about one another. During this time, Annabelle pushes her limits, and Sawyer implements discipline. There is a spark, and the more they push and shove the brighter it gets.
These two find themselves very happy, Sawyer is even seen smiling and laughing. Both of them know there are feelings growing, but both are too stubborn to address them, or for that matter face them. Then a significant rule is broken, tempers flare, harsh words are spoken, a misunderstanding ensues. The misunderstanding leads to both physical and emotional scars. Sawyer and Annabelle finally face what neither of them were looking for and yet both of them feel. A little secret of Annabelle’s is told, and that makes their first time even more special and exciting.
Just as the song says….”Tale as old as time, true to say the least, barely even friends, then somebody bends, unexpectedly. Just a little change, small to say the least, both a little scared, neither one prepared…..” Truer lines have never been spoken. All it took was a spitfire beauty named Annabelle and a horrible nickname of beast for Sawyer blended together. At first it’s due to bad decisions/actions, but love sprouts in the smallest of places and grows continuously.
This is absolutely a super hot grown up version of Beauty and the Beast. Sawyer is the Beast. Annabelle is the Beauty. Annabelle’s mom causes some trouble and Sawyer sees this as an opportunity to get what he wants from Annabelle. He makes her an offer to keep her in his mansion for a month and pretend to be his wife and he will pay her for 10 months of her salary. But she must obey him. Annabelle was always a good girl before, but something about Sawyer makes her want to be bad, and get her punishment. During her time with Sawyer her mother starts to tell the press that he is holding Annabelle prisoner. He has a rather dark past so people have no problem believing this about him. Annabelle has to find a way to get his name cleared once and for all. There is so much sexual tension that it is unreal! A very hot read!!!
A new book by Jane Henry, it is a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a Daddy Dom as the Beast. If you are a fan of Beauty and The Beast you will love the book. It is very light on the BDSM and the Daddy Dom side.
Annabelle is young, but had to grow up too fast after the death of her father and your mother’s illness. She has always been the good girl. Being with Sawyer brings out her feisty, sassy and bratty side out. For the first time in years someone is taking care of her.
Sawyer locked himself away from everything and everyone, but being with Annabelle brings him back to life.
This all makes for a beautiful, romantic and sweet read read. Fun, but also emotional. And of course there is the library.
