“I’m going to teach you, sweetness. How to give yourself fully to me.”Her chest rises and falls rapidly. But her gaze doesn’t leave mine. “I don’t know if I can do that.”“You don’t have to do a thing.” I can’t stop myself from reaching out and touching her hair. My hand is huge by her face. I grip one of her damp locks, swallowing it in my fist. “Just let go and be mine.”She’ll pay her family’s … “Just let go and be mine.”
She’ll pay her family’s debt one way or another…
Years ago Daphne’s father stole from me and it’s time for my revenge.
I’ll steal her away to my castle. Lock her in my tower.
Make her mine in every way.
She’s Beauty, and I’m the Beast.
Note: This is a dark romance. It is the first in a trilogy.more
I absolutely love this story. Lee and Stasia bring a twist to beauty and the beast that makes you not be able to put this book down. Beauty’s Beast is a twisted, lovely, and sizzling story that I devoured. I can’t wait till the next book is out!
This version of the children’s story is a dark and twisted tale of revenge, betrayal, full of secretive twist and turns.
And of course the all pervasive feeling of sensual debauchery served with sumptuous abandon.
And then the end!
Sometimes I don’t mind cliffhangers. But this one was a doozy!
I really enjoyed this first book in the series.
It is a great take on the Beauty & the Beast fairytale. I liked the characters and the authors have given the story a modern twist that works. I am looking forward to the next book.
I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.
This excellent romance with dark undertones, is a splendid adult retelling of an old fairytale “Beauty & the Beast” & it is the first book of the series “Beauty & the Rose” The well-written, intense plot is very intriguing & covers two complex scientists (an innocent young woman, Daphne) & (a vengeful man, Logon)
There is: twists & turns, intrigue, drama, suspense, secrets, mystery, strange attractions, vengeful feelings, devious plans, seduction, discovery, threats, steamy scenes, compromises, deceit & betrayal, sadly this book does end with a cliffhanger & I look forward to the next book with great anticipation.
This is one of the most thrilling, mysterious, dubious consent storylines I’ve read. A true Beauty and the Beast telling with Beauty, an intellectual, naïve, virgin and a man who wants revenge for what was done to him. Lee Savino and Stasia Black have the unique ability to create characters who interact in such a way as to make you feel like they could be someone you know personally, which tends to pull me into the story. “Beauty’s Beast” leaves off with a HUGE cliffhanger making me hope the wait isn’t too long for the next one.
this story grabs you from the start. Daphne seems lost to the world as her research from a cure has taken up every moment of her life. the beast steals her away and offers to show her the error of her ways, which have been influenced by the man in her life. when secrets and past truths come to life, Daphne is forced to take action, but at the final hurdle she falls and the beast captures her again. brilliant read, on to book 2.
I love Daphne and Logan’s dynamic. Adam is pretty, but may not be a good person. Lots of twists and turns. Really good first book in the series.
Very steamy and an interesting short read. Something about the book just didn’t click for me.
I just listened to Beauty’s Beast on Audible. It’s a great story. Very steamy! Beast takes Beauty to his “castle” and keeps her there. He’s out for revenge. She is very innocent. Cliffhanger warning. Two more books in this series.
The narrators (2) did a good job. Their voices are nice to listen to. I did feel like they read too slow. I wanted the story to move along faster. Maybe because this is such a busy time of year.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Book 1 of 3
This book is like beauty and the Beast.
Cliffhanger ending.
Daphne is a people pleaser and spends all her time working in the lab for her father’s company.
Logan is alone and disfigured, and he has kidnapped Daphne and says it’s her father’s fault.
Who can be trusted, can anyone be trusted.
Well written and well read. Looking forward to the next book.
I listened to this on Audible.
Fantastic audiobook with wonderful characters. This is a must read of listen. . I received a arc and volunteer to review this audiobook.
I LOVED THIS! It is a fantastic twist on a classic story. There’s no Lumiere, Cogsworth, Chip, or Mrs. Potts but that’s ok. They weren’t necessary.
Logan and Daphne have a second chance but her inability to stand up for herself and his impatience could cost them. It’s dark and twisty. He’s brooding, possessive, and overbearing. She lacks confidence outside of the lab and everyone around her has a tendency to underestimate her. Can she force them to pay attention? Now that she knows what she wants, will she fight for it? These are the questions I’m left with after the cliffhanger.
Along with the book, I also had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook. I really enjoyed the narrators and I loved being able to go between the two mediums.
Story: 5 stars
Narrators: 4 stars
The Beast And Daphne’s Story Is A Dark And Steamy Reimagined Beauty And The Beast Story Set In New Olympus And Infused With A Scientific Spin! Innocence Trilogy Fans Will Love It!
This is book one in the Beauty and the Rose trilogy, which is a steamy modern spin on Beauty and the Beast. It takes place in the fictional New Olympus.
Fans of the Innocence trilogy, Marcus and Cora’s story, will appreciate a little crossover between the two trilogies.
The story takes place in New Olympus. It revolves around Belladonna, a research company that until recently was headed by Dr. Piers Laurel. The company’s original mission was to find a cure for Battleman’s disease, the illness that Dr. Laurel’s wife fought and which eventually took her life.
Dr. Daphne Laurel, twenty-six, has devoted her career to research. She lost her mother to Battleman’s disease and hopes to find a cure for others. Her father’s recent illness, though, has brought uncertainty to Belladonna. The company is struggling. Daphne has stepped into the CEO shoes in her father’s absence, but she is out of her comfort zone and the Board is looking for change. Daphne paints a positive picture of her father’s condition to anyone who asks after him, as she hopes that will buy her time with the Board.
Devoted to her research, Daphne has no social life. In fact, she has never had a boyfriend. She does happen to have a secret admirer of sorts, though. Every year since her eighteenth birthday, she finds a single rose. It never comes with a note or a hint of the identity of her admirer. She has wondered if it might be her father, but has ruled it out.
Daphne has attended the Autumn Gala since she was a teen, and this year is no different. The high society event has her representing the company and rubbing elbows with New Olympus’s finest. Marcus and Cora Ubeli, in particular, have been pivotal to Belladonna’s success with their generous donations over the years. Adam Archer, heir to Archer Industries, a billion dollar empire, seems a little more interested in Daphne than usual this night. He had conducted research at Belladonna, along with Daphne, until he left to run his father’s company. She has been working with him recently in an effort to save Belladonna. They are discussing a possible merger. Adam’s vision for the company is broader than just diseases. He has influenced the Board over the years, driving them into the more profitable cosmetics industry.
The Beast, thirty-five, is going to re-balance the scales of justice, beginning on the night of the Autumn Gala. The masks donned by attendees provide the perfect opportunity for him to blend in with the crowd. He hates the arrogance on display, but he will put them all in their place soon enough. He wonders if Daphne liked his rose this year. She is beautiful but naïve – and it is entirely too easy to lure her away to his castle. He wants everything from her. But first, he must determine if she has been corrupted, or if she is the same innocent beauty that he fell for so many years ago.
The Beast and Daphne’s story begins dark and steamy as the Beast dishes out Daphne’s punishment. They are lost in erotica as they work through their trust issues. They have incredible chemistry together. The mystery of the Beast’s identity adds to the erotic nature of their non-traditional romance. The Beast’s character is complex (as expected). His two personas – the old and the new – are radically different. But Daphne, sheltered as her life has been, handles both fairly well. The Beast is a dominant alpha male, and Daphne discovers things about herself while under his care. The couple must find a bridge from their past while earning one another’s trust. The Beast has a vendetta, and Daphne plays a role in it, one way or another. But her innocence and sincerity surprise him, and soon he finds that it is she that has captured his heart. This book ends in a cliffhanger that leads to book two in the series, Beauty and the Thorns.
The Beast and Daphne’s story is a mix of erotica and complex storylines. It is well-written. The plot is complex. The characters are well-defined. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between the Beast and Daphne. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
I received a copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beauty’s Beast is a fantastic contemporary romance by Lee Savino and Stasia Black. This is a little on the dark side and does have a little bdsm flavor, so it may not be for everyone. Every year Daphne gets a rose on her birthday. Daphne is now CEO since her father’s stroke and being pressured to merge with Archer Industries. When she’s drugged at a gala she wakes in strange surroundings. With her own beast. This story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page and look forward to reading more from Lee Savino and Stasia Black. Beauty’s Beast is book 1 of the Beauty and the Rose Series. Warning…this book is a cliff-hanger.
Very Phantom of the Opera via House vibes to go with the classic Beauty and the Beast troupes. Very steamy, but a great hook at the end. I bought the whole series because I hate waiting after I read one of these cliff hanger serials. I wouldn’t have done well waiting for my next section of Dickens or Doyle lol!
Beauty’s Beast is the first book in the Beauty and the Rose trilogy. Daphne is at a ball when she’s approached by three different men. One is just a messenger, one is beautiful, and one is a beast. When she’s taken by the beast, she can’t help but feel drawn to him with a sense of deja vu, but will she ever gain her beast’s trust?
Oh my goodness, my heart is still pounding after reading this book, and I’m super thankful that I don’t have to wait for the next book to come out. I’m going to have a book hangover after reading the ending of this book. Daphne and Beast captured my attention just as quickly as Beast captured Daphne. Beast is what you’d imagine, hard, dominant, controlling, intense, but I loved his softer side, too. I loved when he gave Daphne her first date! Daphne has such a pure heart, wanting to see the best in everyone and trying her best to save everyone, too. There’s a sweetness to this book that wasn’t always present in Cora and Marcus’ trilogy, but that doesn’t mean some of the darkness and pain isn’t present. I have to admit – I loved the first 90% of this book. I thought there was a sensuality and connection between the two main characters and we learn who Beast is and part of why he is the way he is. But the ending… why, oh why did that trust and connection disappear?! Ugh. The ending left me with more of an upset heart than Cora and Marcus’ trilogy and the beginning of this book combined. So, I’m going to give the next book a try and I’m anxious to see how events will play out and what truths might be revealed soon!
What happens when two of my favorite authors team up and turn a fairy tale into a dark and dangerous romance? In Beauty’s Beast you get a twist on a childhood classic but with steamy and intense sex scenes and an underlying mystery about who is Daphne’s mysterious admirer. Logan Wulfe (or the Beast) has loved Daphne since he first saw her studying in a corner of her father’s lab. He mysteriously disappeared from her life only to resurface many years later. Can they rekindle what they had before or will circumstances from Logan’s past interfere? This is book #1 in a three book series so be prepared for some cliffhangers.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
3.5 stars for Beauty’s Beast by Lee Savino and Stasia Black. This is book 1 in the Beauty and the Rose series. This is a dark romance. Daphne and Logan used to know each other but Logan left out of nowhere. Daphne is a Dr/researcher trying to find a cure for the disease that killed her mom. Daphne is taken and exposed to dark stuff through her kidnapper. This book was well written and had a great story line. There were somethings that I didn’t like but the book was still worth reading. I am going to start book 2 now.
It was so amazing to revisit New Olympus, and to read the romance story between Daphne and Beast. It’s a dark read, which makes this story all the better to be devoured. I love the dual POV, and the mixing of present and past to weave such an amazing story. I look forward to reading more of this series, and the journey that Daphne and Luke must take to find their HEA (I’m crossing my fingers but know that Lee Savino and Stasia Black will definitely deliver!)
They say once you read a story no matter how its retold it will never be the same. I have to agree and I like that. While the telling of Beauty and the Beast is my #1 favorite I never get tired of reading all the different versions of them. Daph was the ideal female character that thought she was living her own life until she meets up with “The Beast”. He shows her how she has been used and treated wrongly in her life and not her own person. I was able to get the kinda feel I look for when I want a really good grab my attention read. I cant wait to see what happens in book #2
