Ettie Trewlove got woke up out of a dead sleep. She went to the front door. and a girl as young as she stood there. She had a babe in her arms and hoped Ettie would care for him as her own.
Benedict Trewlove(Beast) was sitting in the back of a tavern watching. There was a serving girl he observed. She had excellent diction. He wanted to know what she was doing here. That she belongs in Mayfair.
Althea Stanwick was the daughter of a traitor. He had been tried, condemned, and hung. They had been turned out of their home and their things confiscated. She had nothing left. She had two brothers, the oldest she didn’t know anything about where he was or what he was doing. Griffin was working at the docks ruining his hands. She had been assaulted when walking home and drugged into an alley, When she woke from that it was to find herself in a bawdy house.
I loved the story. There were a lot of things happening. She met some wonderful people that she was glad to know. It is but a small bit of Whitechapel and the life that went on there, and the life of one family. I especially enjoyed the teasing, joviality, and love. It was entertaining, easy to read, and absorbing. The characters were fun and saddening. You will run through the full gambit of emotions.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
I could not put Lorraine Heath’s book Beauty Tempts the Beast down or wait to get back to it when I had to pause reading it! I thoroughly enjoyed reading About Althea and Beast. This book is on par with Sarah MacLean’s Bareknuckled Bastards. I highly recommend this book!
Benedict Trewlove is known as the Beast in Whitechapel. When he first spots Althea Stanwick, she’s working as a barmaid in a local bar. He immediately knows by her demeanor and speech that she doesn’t belong in his world and it peaks his interest of what happened to her. When he propositions her to teach his “ladies” the refinement they would need to improve their lives with better positions, she agrees and moves into the brothel bent on educating the ladies. The more time she spends with Beast, she sees what a good and generous man his is. Can she convince him that she does belong in his world?
I have not read any of the other stories in this series and didn’t feel lost at all. Miss Heath has woven the story of an intriguing and compassion man who uses his brawn and fists protecting those who need it. Born a bastard he has limited options in life, but he has made a good life for himself. I liked Althea as well. She found she had a well of strength that she didn’t know she possessed when she fell from grace of the ton as the daughter of a traitor. The story flowed seamlessly and was peppered with twists and turns I didn’t see coming. When I thought the book was going to end, the biggest surprise of the book happens and it was so welcomed. I absolutely loved this book!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy and all opinions are my own.
At last Lorraine Heath gives us Beast’s story, the brother who has been rarely seen in the previous Sins For All Seasons series. I’m giving a solid 4 stars.
I was anticipating big and scary, but Benedict Trewlove, aka Beast, is a large powerful man who uses his size and fortune to help others in need, be it with his fists or by lending a helping hand. Like his siblings, Beast does not know anything about his parentage. (I’m not quite buying the whole “living in a brothel to give the ladies protection”, however.)
Althea Stanwick is the daughter of a disgraced Duke who was hanged over a plot to try to kill the queen. She accepts Beast’s offer to tutor his five remaining ladies of the evening in proper manners and etiquette so they can find reputable employment. It’s been several months since she and her brothers were kicked out of their ancestral home and forced to live on the streets. She has little pride left and is simply trying to eke out a meager existence. The author gives us a good impression on what the drastic change of circumstances has done to her outlook on her life and what she is expects. She knows the old Althea would probably not have given Beast a second glance. I’d have liked a little more on that.
I wasn’t really sure where this story was going to go but I’ll see you asks Beast to school her in seduction so that she could get a position as a wealthy man’s mistress. Of course there is emotional attachment that develops between the two of them and Beast has a really hard time with the idea that some other man is going to have her. She discovers that there are hidden depths to Beast and begins to appreciate all this he is.
This is somewhat of a slow burn romance as the initial focus is on their endeavors to help the ladies. Though not the best of the series (The Duchess in His Bed — Aidan’s story holds that place) I still thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming romance and watching Beast — and his Thea — really come out on top. I give it a 4 star rating. I’m looking forward to the new series featuring Thea’s 2 older brothers.
Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read and provide my honest review of this story.

Beauty Tempts The Beast, by Lorraine Heath, is available at booksellers on 9-29-2020. Beauty is book 6 in Ms. Heath’s Sins for All Seasons series. I’m giving a rare, for me, 5 stars. I liked our couple from page 1..
Benedict (Beast) and Thea (his beauty) are not your typical society couple. Beast has had a tough life, it wasn’t pretty at all. He’s got enough baggage to squash a donkey. He takes a long time to work it out, poor guy. The best thing is his adopted family, they’re all so great despite their beginnings. Mrs. Trewlove took in children to raise herself, unwanted or by-blows abandoned to her care. She’s a terrific mother, they should all be so nice and caring. Thea ‘s life started out great, spoiled and without a care in the world. When it all went pear shaped she found enough backbone to take care of herself. She learned how the other half survived and thrived. She’s a likeable lady and I was so glad that things turned out great for them both.

“Sometimes when life puts us on a path we don’t necessarily want to travel, we discover it was a journey we needed to take in order to secure happiness.”
Benedict “Beast” Trewlove has a powerful reputation in Whitechapel, and not just as being born a bastard. Vowing to protect those unable to do so themselves, Beast has found himself on the receiving end of a proposition he never dreamed possible…being asked to teach seduction by the former Lady Althea Stanwick. But Beast is not sure if he will be able to hold true to his principals of not sleeping with those he has sworn to protect…but sometimes the heart has other ideas…
Lady Althea Stanwick and her brothers find themselves outcast and directly cut from the ton after their father has been tried and hung for treason. Althea has been given the opportunity to tutor less fortunate women on how to behave more “lady like”, but in return, Althea proposes to receive training on how to be the ultimate seductress so she may make her own choice of how to live her life, and she’s decided to become the most sought after mistress in London. But when Althea sees how kind her Beast is, her heart shows her the possibilities of how love can provide so much more than she ever dreamed…
Althea and Ben are lovers that are forced to make difficult decisions when it comes to matters of the heart, but even in their darkest moments they are reminded “We always have a choice, even when it seems we don’t.” Their happily ever after is fraught with hurdles of heartache, and it will take their combined strength to prevail and prove that true love does in fact conquer all…
Oh, dear reader I so loved this story! I’m a sucker for Beauty & the Beast romances, and had no clue this was the 6th installment to a series. While it took me a bit to get all the Trewlove characters straight, Beauty Tempts the Beast may be read standalone, and I highly recommend!

Beauty Tempts the Beast (Sins for All Seasons, #6) by Lorraine Heath….WOW wonderful series full of family, redemption, laughs, tears, love, and a whole lot of steamy stuff. I can’t wait for the next book. Thanks Lorraine…
This was a beautifully written, swoon-worthy read! Benedict was a lovable sweetheart! He had a huge capacity to love and I could see why Althea appealed to him on many different levels. I was just as intrigued by Althea, selfish moments and all, but it took a bit to warm up to her. Once she started opening up to Benedict though, everything snapped in to place. I even enjoyed the conflict! I was thrilled it wasn’t prolonged and completely nonsensical, but resolved in a logical, understanding manner.
And the Trewlove family! They were a colorful group of friendship, acceptance, and so much love…
I had such a blast with this story!
I haven’t read the entire series (actually just book one) and had no difficulty following along. This can easily be read as a stand alone.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley and Avon books. This is my honest review.
