“She might never be safe again.”
On her way back to Maryland to meet with police detectives, Harper Cloud wonders if her life will ever feel safe, or settled, or hopeful. Now that she has put her faith in the One who will never leave her or forsake her, she is deeply grateful for the gift of Jack’s steady presence. He believes in her innocence, he believes in her; but Derrick Burns is a desperate man who is determined to use Harper as a pawn in his dangerous game of cat and mouse.
Enjoy this satisfying, if not surprising, conclusion to a really interesting series.
For those who’ve read the first two books in the trilogy, Beauty in Battle brings everything together in a fast, frantic, and intense conclusion you do not want to miss.
All the buildup comes to a head, all the questions are answered, and everything I hoped for the end of Harper’s story.
I loved how Robin Patchen told this story in three installments instead of one lengthier book as there really are three separate parts that resonate best when revealed separately. There is enough tension in each to keep you wanting more and reaching for the next book to find out how much Harper must endure and whether she will come out the other side a stronger woman who will learn to lean into God when the worst happens.

When a former FBI agent joins in, Harper finds out that her past has caught up to her. She has to face it and stop running. Meanwhile, more of the past has also caught up to them and not Red is in danger too.
A great finale to this series. Wonderful characters. A definite tissue alert.

Beauty in Battle is the suspense-filled conclusion to Robin Patchen’s Beauty in Flight trilogy. Once Jack learns Harper’s secrets he convinces her to return to Maryland with him to face the police with the truth before Derrick catches up to them.
Well-developed characters and plot made this series one that I didn’t want to put down but I was grateful to have copies of all three books so that I didn’t have to wait to find out what happened next. Jack and Harper faced more than enough danger along their journey back because in addition to Derrick, an unidentified killer also wants them dead. Unexpected twists and surprises kept me in suspense until the very end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this skillful blend of drama, suspense, romance, and faith. I am glad I had the opportunity to review this series and recommend it to those who enjoy Christian suspense novels.
I voluntarily reviewed a digital copy of this book provided by Just Read Tours. A favorable review was not required. All views expressed are my own.
The conclusion of the “ Beauty “series did not disappoint !! Just as thrilling as the first two. Excellent ending and all your questions answered. I’m a big fan of Robin Patchen, and looking forward to her new book out in July .
Loved the book. You need to read all 3. I couldn’t put it down. Really enjoy this author’s style. Enjoyed the suspense and character development. Love the message of hope and redemption as well.
Beauty in Battle was most definitely a conclusion worth waiting for. With the series finally coming to a head, Robin Patchen crafted a conclusion demanding the tension that has been building since the beginning of the series. Harper finally learns her worth and the meaning of God. The theme of forgiveness, redemption, and second chances run rampant. The final installment was full of tension and a little bit of romance. Just what the series called for and lead up to since the beginning. I really enjoyed how the series took three books to explore. I feel Harper was a more rounded character and not just thrown under the bus and hustled through the steps. She had depth and became a better character by the end of the series. Overall, I highly recommend everyone who enjoys reading suspense to pick up this series, but I recommend waiting until the reader has all three, so they can read them in order and one right after another.
I received a complimentary copy of Beauty in Battle by Robin Patchen for JustRead tours, but the opinions stated are all my own.
What a satisfying conclusion to the Beauty in Flight series! This third book in the series is packed with action and suspense. The series should definitely be read in order, and once you start, you won’t be able to put the books down! If you enjoy a well-written romantic suspense, you will love this book and the entire series.
The romance between Harper and Jack blossoms in this book. Jack is a swoon-worthy hero – compassionate, tender, loving, loyal, protective, and thoughtful. He also models grace and forgiveness and helps Harper understand God’s unconditional love better so that she can extend grace and forgiveness.
And the author will have you guessing at the ending of the story until the very last chapter!

Beauty in Battle is the third book of the Beauty in Flight series by Robin Patchen. Though Harper has a history of relationships with the wrong men, through a series of frightening and difficult circumstances, she finally learns to trust the right one. This story comes complete with a surprise ending! So snuggle down in your favorite reading spot with a cup of hot chocolate and some chocolate chip cookies and prepare for a great read!
I just loved this book, it was edge your seat and action packed! I was so glad to read the last book in the series. The whole series was excellent! I am now a great fan of Robin Patchen’s books! It was clean and Christian which I appreciate.
Hannah and jack are heading to Maryland. Hannah must face the police and tell the truth about the night she and Red left the city. But, will the police believe her or it will become a nightmare as the last time she went to the police an she she will end in prison again? Only facing the truth will she be finally be free. You will enjoy the story
I think the series was great, I loved the suspense and I’m happy to say I couldn’t figure out who the real killer was . The characters are lovable, funny, mean, scary, faithful . I read it in one night and now I have to wait for Robin Patchen to write another series and I can’t wait !
I would recommend reading this as a series of 3 at the same time – starting with book #1. . There is so much going on that the first book ends with a cliff hanger and it is hard to “wait” to find out what happens. Again, great characters and it is easy to appreciate how Harper matures and learns to make better choices and to forgive herself. I enjoyed this book very much and … was sad when it ended.
The conclusion to a very touching story. Harper’s problems have caught up with her and she can’t keep running from the law. She also is a caretaker for Red, or grampa. She is trying to protect him from someone who wants hin dead. Can she come clean with the authorities and be exoronated or will she face prison again?
A great ending to a very good series.
If this book were standing alone I would have given a 5star. Since the way it was marketed I would not recommend this author to anyone!! It was called a series but all three books were actually one book from the very beginning to end. I’m over 80years and an avid kindle reader. I have never seen this type of marketing to get someone to read an authors books. Give the first one free…I’ve seen but to then charge for the next two because that’s the only way to get to the end. Sad since the author writes well.
The plot of this book followed the typical recipe, which I often enjoy, of damsel in distress with a knight to rescue her. However there was a different twist that made it more interesting and compelling. I also appreciated the realistic way the story portrayed the gospel and Christian development. I was not a case of getting saved and all the problems are gone. As the characters faced their own struggles I was encouraged.
This is the third book in a three book series. Usually each book tells a story and the next book starts a new story, possibly with the same or related characters. The biggest complaint I have this series it is that none of the books can stand alone. The first two end with cliff hangers. When that happens I feel deceived and angry. Fortunately this book completes the story although, I feel like important parts of the story will have been missed. That is the reason I gave it only three stars. If the books had been condensed a little (there was enough repetition to do that) and published as one, I would have given it a much higher score
It appeared as though tbe book was on partially written with no real ending.
This is the last of the books in the Beauty series. It has been suspenseful all the way through & reading the first book made me want to continue the series. I like that GOD made everything turn out well & Harper is finally free to really live. The ending made me shed lots of tears! Loved the series!
‘True freedom could only be found in the far side of obedience and trust!’ With everything stacked against her, Harper was learning the truth of that statement. Trusting had brought her nothing but grief before this, so why should it be any different now. I thoroughly enjoyed the conclusion to this ongoing battle for true freedom. The spiritual growth shown by Harper was wonderful to observe. Could she possibly learn to believe that God cared enough to heal broken hearts and even bring families back together again?
