“I love this Beauty and the Beast story that Skye Warren has crafted. She puts a twist to this classic tale that makes it different and deliciously erotic.” – Nina’s Literary EscapeOnce upon a time there was a beautiful college student…Erin cleans Mr. Morris’s house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can’t help but feel sympathy for him. Then she … but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings.
And a beastly professor with scars he can’t hide…
Blake Morris knows he’s scarred both inside and out. He’s reclusive and surly. Nowhere near good enough for the smart and beautiful young woman who cleans his house.
He receives an offer to return to his alma mater as an associate professor. This is his chance to reenter the world–and to be worthy of the woman he dreams about. He never expected to see her sitting in his classroom on the first day of the semester.

Well, true to Skye Warren, she has gone and left me speechless. The author is pure genius. This book right here is a prime example of why I love her work so much. She’s gone and turned a forever known fairytale, Beauty and The Beast into a modern-day tale with a twist… Actually, it was more than a twist… It was genius… honestly that’s the only word that can describe this book.
She retold the fairytale, with a modern-day theme, adding in a forbidden student/teacher relationship. I loved Blake, the man had been through so much, things that left him wounded even a little broken, and it has left him living a life of loneliness and solitude… Until Erin, a sweet, funny and innocent girl comes to clean his house so she can pay her way to study. Something draws Erin to Blake, something that most people wouldn’t see, especially himself. She can’t help her feeling for this wounded man from growing. When she accidentally finds herself interrupting a very private moment, she realizes that it’s not just her crushing on him…
After that, this book gets even more intense. When Blake comes to find that Erin is his student, and these feelings, this passion between them that’s grown, it only intensifies. because of course, the forbidden fruit always tastes better!
Skye Warren has yet again proved to me she can write about anything and it will be phenomenal, the author has a talent that continues to blow me away. Whether it’s hot, forbidden romances or dark, gritty and hot, this author does not shy away from much, and I cannot help but fall into with each and every one of her books, and this one? Well, it’s yet another Skye Warren book that is added to my forever growing list of favorite reads.
Bravo, Ms. Warren.. You blew me away!
5 stars!
This book starts out hot and heavy. There is no foreplay, they just get right to business. It is not until a few chapters in that the characters are described Once that description begins, there is no way to out down this book. Blake is so hard to like at first, but once his back story unfolds, you cannot help but to fall in love with him. Erin is sweet and just trying to work her way through school. She does not want any hand outs or favors. I like her strong personality. This story really fills with drama when an ex-girlfriend returns. There is not many winks at the original story, but Beauty and the Professor has a life of its own. It is a great story with an ending that will leave you needing more.
Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola narrate this story. Mr. Dexter is an amazing Blake. He completely brings Blake to life exactly as I imagined him. Mr. Dexter is able to narrate Erin with the same enthusiam. Those hot scenes were even hotter with his narration! No matter what Lia Langola narrates, it is amazing. Ms Langola does not disappoint in this story. Lia narrates Erin exactly as I imagined her. Ms Langola brings out her determination and strength. Ms Langola’s sultry voice is perfect for Blake I really enjoyed the duet narration. The narration enhanced the experience of the story.
A story about a very intimate yet subtle provocative passion.
Firsts chapters pull you to a pure forbidden sensuality that make you question, what if happened to you, would you ?… Morals and breaking rules.
Great writing right here; It’s between Erin, Blake and you. An innocence mixed with being worthy of affection.
It’s about keeping or losing their / our dreams.
Erin and Blake can’t deny their powerful pull, neither can I.
Great retelling of Beauty and the Beast!!!
You’ll hope for an happy ending, let us see the light in the next book.
ARC gifted by the Author, gave my sincere thoughts.
Blake was injured overseas while serving in the military. He is the son of a senator, and was to follow in his father’s footsteps. However, enlisting in the military didn’t help him follow his father so much. Blake return from war, with battle scars on his face – he was burned over 30% of his body. He becomes a recluse basically in his own house. He knows he needs to go out and face the world, but at the same time, he’s worried about what others will say / decide abut him without actually hearing him and what he went through.
Erin cleans Mr. Blake Morris’s house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can’t help but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings. Erin isn’t sure if she should go to Blake with him in this state of undress when she see’s him, or if she should run out on him.
Erin and Blake start off their romance hot steamy. They don’t really slow down, just full steam ahead. Blake agrees to being a teacher at the same university that Erin is at. As it’s only 1 or 2 classes for the summer. He knows there won’t be a lot of student on campus during the summer, and hopefully he won’t be the talk of campus.
I did receive a Free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving a honest review.
Not just a matter of pride
—>>> Fiercely proud and independent, Erin is nearly finished with her Master’s studies, and making do by cleaning houses much like her mother did to put her through school. Cleaning twice a week for one of her clients, she finds Blake Morris in a very compromising situation, and things become very uncomfortable between them until they dare to broach the subject, only to discover they are attracted to each other, thankfully.
Injured and disfigured by an IED attack while on his last tour of duty, Blake has been secretly lusting after his housekeeper, who is fifteen years his junior. Having become a recluse in his own home, he is drawn to her kind, honest and lively spirit. After being caught “red-handed” by Erin, he lays his feelings all out, even though he does not think he deserves this young beauty.
Their secret affair gets a shakeup when Blake is offered a teaching position at Erin’s college, and a woman from his past comes back wanting to make amends. But it is not until even more unexpected events test their relationship further, along with their personal goals, that the true strength of what they have will either be stronger or break them apart.
Looking forward to seeing where their undeniable and sizzling chemistry will take them and how their goals will be realized in the books to come.
nooooo whats with that ending!?
sigh.. loved the book. 80% all love and romance with its own issues and obstacles of course but mainly just the two characters growing to love one another and overcoming their insecurities. the book is a bit too smooth sailing for my taste but then again, I primarily read dark stories. romantic, beautiful, meaningful, and realistic. I even enjoyed the brief intellectual discussions in the professor/school setting and envious I didn’t have a teacher that engaging haha.
theres always that ex who just has to get in the freaking way. the ending took me by surprise and its a light cliffhanger. reading book two though is a must. I need to know whats going to happen!
Beauty and the Professor makes me think about Beauty and the Beast but of course this one is more of a more adult version for sure. So you have Erin who decided she needed to get a job in order to pay her tuition so she decides to clean Blakes house. Ofc Blake don’t want anyone to see him the way he is kowing half his face is burned. But other than that hes the most sweetest person. The chemistry that Blake and Erin have is so scorching hot, that will have you page turning. You don’t want to miss out on it for sure. When Blake is offered the chance to go back to teaching, what happens when he teaches a course where the woman he had fallen for is his student??? You really need to read this story
Another AMAZING read by Skye Warren! Beauty and the Professor left me utterly speechless! Such a beautiful and unique take on a classic fairy tale. I am seriously dying to see how the story plays out. Once you start, you will not be able to stop wanting more! I highly recommend!
Beauty and the Professor was a naughty, angsty, and heartwarming twist on my favorite fairy tale. A modern day twist on Beauty and the Beast with the perfect combination of taboo, drama, twists, passion, suspense and all the feels I couldn’t get enough of this book. Blake was the perfect embodiment of the beast. Broken and guarded he tugged at my heart and burrowed his way inside. Erin was sweet, independent and had such a positive outlook on life. I adored seeing Blake through her eyes and how she quieted his self doubts. Their relationship was fascinating to watch as it unfolded and I couldn’t help but hope for a happily ever after for these two. Beauty and the Professor is one of my favorite modern day fairytale retellings that has me eagerly looking forward to more.
Wow! What a sizzling opening! I was hooked from the very first page and it just kept going. I could barely keep up. My kindle almost caught fire! This story is so raw and beautiful. So real, so emotional and intense that I couldn’t put it down. I was like a zombie and read it all in one sitting… and then there was a twist I didn’t see coming! I adore Blake and Erin so much and the ending just about killed me!! I can’t wait to read more of them!
I love Skye Warren’s work. This story was really good.
I am not a fan of the 3rd person… so I struggled… but reading about Erin & Blake’s story it was amazing.
They went against the rules to be together.
I love reading about them, and the chaos around their relationship.
Erin is a college student working to pay her bills. She cleans houses and works for Mr. Morris, but can’t stop herself from wishing there was more with him. Then one day while looking for him she finds him in a strange situation and can’t pull herself away. Then he sees her and they both almost pass out from embarrassment.
After being injured during war Blake tries to hide, but Erin won’t let him. She only wants to show him how handsome he is even with the damage to him. What’s on the inside is more important than what’s on the outside.
When I started reading I couldn’t put it down.Skye Warren is magnifysent and amazing writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. Can’t wait for the next book.
“ He knew only pain, and she was freedom. He felt madness, and with her it was pleasure.”
He carries with him the marks of the past. Inside and outside. The scars that mark the body and the soul of Blake Morris make him hide recluse in his house. Until someone looks at him and sees the beauty that he cannot see.
Erin cleans houses to pay for college. Her life is simple and in six months she will be graduated. And her crush for her employer Blake Morris could be forgotten and overcome. But an unexpected scene can make her life complicate the worst and best forms possible.
As always Skye Warren does not deliver just a well written hot narrative. She adds drama, conflict, prejudice, blackmail and moral discussions in the development of the plot. She makes the reader put himself in the place of several characters, like Erin’s mother, making him think and feel through her traumas.
An unprecedented book, where ethics and passion mix and leave the reader heartbroken for all the obstacles that this couple has to face and make you think: can this wounded prince one day live his happy ending?

This book really is a modern day fairy tale! Erin is Blake’s housekeeper. She is a college student working through college. Blake is the man coming out of depression and anger. One thing leads to another, and a couple is formed. A new job, and an angry ex make for an interesting read. It is a duet, so it does leave off on a cliff. Lots of steam!
This is a modern day take on the classic fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast with a touch of taboo (age gap, boss/employee, teacher/student). It was previously published but some changes were made & I loved it! Skye Warren does a wonderful job of touching on some very sensitive subjects and fears. Her words jump off the page and grab you. The plot keeps you flipping the pages with its angst. There is a healthy dose of steam as well that is hot! The characters are lovable and relatable. It is a duet. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend reading it! I can’t wait to read the next book in this duet, Falling for the Beast.

Ultimately I’m rating this 3 1/2 Caffeinated Stars
When I saw Skye Warren post a call for bloggers to review her book I knew I had to jump at the chance. I really enjoyed some of her previous books, and I really love retellings of the Beauty and the Beast story. One of the things that I love about Skye Warren is that she isn’t scared to take a risk. Her books always have a bit of a taboo feel to them, and this one is no different. The power dynamics in this book have a forbidden edge to them & I enjoyed the Student/Teacher elements that were present.
Though generally, I love Skye Warren’s books I felt like the writing was a bit off in this one. There was little to distinguish between the perspectives of the characters. It seemed that they blended in with each other which became confusing at times. Another thing that seemed off with this book was the character development. It appeared that Erin & Blake didn’t genuinely grow as characters during this book. This is what I consider the curse of the Novella. I tend to find that character development is harder to flesh out when it comes to a novella. Since there is a second in the series, I hope that we see more growth.
Even though I didn’t feel that there was growth in the characters, I still loved them. Erin has a compelling background. I love that she doesn’t come from a wealthy family & I loved the dynamic that she has with the few side characters. Blake just made my heart hurt. The pain he has is heartbreaking and makes me want to just give him a hug. Both of them together was the highlight (as it should be with a romance). I loved that they (for the most part) were open and honest with each other. It’s rare to read a book where a character will openly admit to their insecurities, so this was refreshing.
All in all, this book has some faults, but I still enjoyed it. It was fast-paced with some captivating characters. I hope to see some character growth in the next book
Beauty and the Professor by Skye Warren is the first book in her Modern Fairy Tale Duet. A sexy, steamy modern re-telling of Beauty and the Beast.
Erin is a grad student on scholarship and loans and working her way through the expenses by cleaning in her free time. Her favorite job, by far, is her twice a week visit to the reclusive Blake Morris. A wounded vet and one-time professor, he was badly burned in his last tour and has made himself a recluse as a result. But when Erin sees Blake she sees the whole man, not just a man with scars.
Blake has no need of having his house cleaned twice a week but the company that Erin provides is addictive. So if he has to pay her to be there, so be it. But when Erin witnesses something he wishes she hadn’t he is wiling to let her go, but despite everything, it just pulls her in and they begin their affair with no idea what troubles lay ahead.
Well-written and well-paced and filled with steamy, sexy encounters the story held it’s own amidst the various smoking hot scenes between Erin & Blake. Loved it – will definitely be finishing this duet with book two, Falling for the Beast as soon as possible. Enjoy!
Wow! I loved the spin of this modern fairy tale. I normally do not read re-telling of fairy tales, but it’s Skye Warren and I couldn’t resist. She did such an amazing job drawing me into Beauty and the Professor from page one. Erin and Blake’s love story is not only forbidden, but it has just the right amount of hotness, sexiness, and suspense that keep those pages turning. The cliffhanger has me wanting more and hoping for a happily ever after. I absolutely loved it!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
