I’m working for a man I can’t stand. Actually, Luke Thorpe is more like a machine. His irresistible body appears to be made of steel. And he’s invincible.Luke’s work ethic has made him a powerful billionaire. But he’s also… uptight and mean.Everyone I know is scared of him.Everyone except for me. I step back when I find myself falling for him. After going through a terrible ordeal, he’s the last … when I find myself falling for him.
After going through a terrible ordeal, he’s the last person I should be with.
I need stability… a commitment.
His eyes say that he wants me.
And I’m tempted to believe them.
Am I about to make the biggest mistake of my life?

After seeing a vicious review about this book after someone in one of my reading groups saw the review in Amazon, I noticed that I had this book in my library to read already and made sure it was next in line to read. The vicious review was made after the person had only read THREE pages!!! I was insulted for the author and was determined that she needed an honest review from someone who had ACTUALLY READ THE BOOK COVER TO COVER!
I absolutely loved this book and Luke and Emily’s story. This book has both POVs and RS Elliot does a wonderful job with both POV. I found all of her characters throughout their story to be well characterized and felt that I knew each of them personally. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not only this book, but all books written by RS Elliot!
On another note, I feel really sad that this writer received a brutal review from someone who didn’t even take the time to read the book. It was beyond mean spirited and I hope that other people take as much offense as I did and actually take the time to read the book and that they leave a review only after reading it cover to cover.
Attraction galore between an intern and boss
Older man and young woman premise – Although the writing was good and story line held promise the disappointing thing for me is that there was no relationship development between Luke and Emily. The age difference was off putting enough, but it seemed they were sexually drawn to each other and from then on had no control over themselves. I really wanted and needed more to this story.
Did not like the end it felt unfinished.
Luke Thorpe is a handsome, muscular billionaire. He is driven to have his company succeed. He works long hours and demands a lot from his staff. Most of his staff are afraid of him. As he is always direct and to the point.
Emily is 12 yrs younger than Luke. If you read the prequel you find out that Luke helps her through a terrible ordeal. Emily is more clingy than I would have liked, she is just young and hasn’t had many relationships.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
Emily is a beautiful, smart college student. She just found out due to her lack of work/intern experience her application to study abroad was denied but luckily a spot would be held for her next year as long as she can get some experience. Being late in the year her options were limited but she managed to land an internship at SkyBlue. But of course life can’t be that simple, right??
Luke didn’t have an easy childhood. Now he is one of the youngest CEO’s of a billion dollar company. His life revolves around his company, leaving little room for anything else. So when he is on his way home one night and sees a young woman in trouble he doesn’t think twice about helping her out. Little did he know that she would show back up in is life in the last place he ever expected. Only problem is, she doesn’t know her new boss is also the same man that helped her out.
I seriously love finding new authors like R.S. Elliot in the readers groups I’m apart of because if not I don’t know how long it would take me to find another great author. This is R.S. Elliot’s debut novel and I’m already looking forward to more from this author. Yes, I have found another author I have a feeling I’ll be a forever fan of!!
