Ruthless Bastard. White Knight. But I just call him “boss.”Thomas Goldstone.A man of billion dollar deals in custom-tailored suits, he demands more than your best. He’s scary. Driven. Haunted by inner demons that have taken him to the brink. But beneath the arrogant, controlling façade lies a heart of gold.It makes me want to solve him one growly, messy piece at a time.To be the only one who sees … growly, messy piece at a time.
To be the only one who sees the truth of the man.
But I’m . . . me.
A pink-haired, anime-loving, data-crunching geek with an office in the basement of Goldstone HQ.
My chances with the big boss? Statistically insignificant.
His burning gaze and clenched jaw say otherwise though. Gives me hope and ignites a flame so hot my glasses fog up.
I shouldn’t mix business with pleasure.
Shouldn’t tempt the beast upstairs.
Shouldn’t keep wondering . . .

Hello, swoon! Lauren Landish is back with a brand new twist on an old fave you totally need in your life. Beauty and the Billionaire is all the broody, beastly goodness the title suggests and so much more.
Tall, dark, hot, and haunted is a potent mix for any nerd girl who’s just been hired on to work for the infamous Thomas Goldstone. Then she meets her boss, the beast himself upstairs. Fantasies aren’t what they seem. But twisted fairy tales? Oh, mama.
Truly a one-click to remember.
This book is off the charts Steamy. It reminds me of Fifty Shades of Grey. He’s messed up psychologically and soooo damaged. She’s delightfully quirky and reminds me of the blond data analyst in the Criminal Minds TV show. The real romance comes after the very HOT SEX but I LOVED the reasons behind the Hero’s internal pounding (um, er…psychologically speaking).
Beauty and the Billionaire by Lauren Landish is the story of Mia and Thomas.
Mia works for Thomas for about six years but has never met him. Mia is a computer geek with a geek look not playing up on her beauty. Thomas is a rich man with a sad past that has structured him to be the stern, goal driving man he is. Never thinking or needing to be in a relationship he has just been work goal focused. But when he gets his first look at Mia he is drawn to her and can only hold off about a week before making his move to claim her.
OMG this was such a swoon worthy read…I need more from this author!!
A steamy new billionaire romance from Lauren Landish!
LOVE Lauren’s books!!! Hot hot HOT!!!
Beauty and the Billionaire has got to be one of the best stories I’ve read from Lauren Landish yet! It was a different read from what I’ve come to expect from her and I loved absolutely every minute of it.
Thomas was a self-made billionaire, driven, ambitious, and determined to succeed beyond expectations. He lost his mother at an early age and endured his father’s abuse for years. This all made him wary of making lasting connections, trusting in only himself.
Mia was quirky and awkward (at first) and adorable and a geek after my own heart. She also lost her mother at a young age, but it only made her appreciate her connections more. It mostly had to do with the fact that she never lacked in love. The relationship she shared with her father was sooooo sweet! And her side character besties were a hoot.
When these two meet, you could feel the sparks. It was hot and instantaneous and you knew that it was going to be explosive. This author did not disappoint. With touches of intrigue and a bit of drama, this story turned out to be an erotically romantic gem and with the way things ended, I’m hoping to get more.
I did not like this male lead character at all. He was too much for me. The inner voice in his head was a bit of a trigger for me. Made me very uncomfortable.
I loved Mia, she was different, eccentric, and confident in who she is. Thomas was broken. Smart, and sweet but broken. They were a perfect match. I loved the third person perspective, and not knowing who or what they were up to. And can we say steamy and sexy. Such a great book.
I love rewrites of fairy tales and this one was completely different from any I have read so far. I knew it would be more from an erotic viewpoint but what I was not expecting was how deep and twisting the story would actually go. I found that the story arc also dealt with quite a few difficult traumatic events that had nothing to do with the fairy tale but only made the story so much richer.
These earlier points also contributed to the characters themselves. I found them to be so real that I truly cared about them and what would happen with them. This is true for several characters within the book.
The last thing I look for in a book is did I feel a part of the story or just a bystander. I can tell you that without doubt I was completely a part of the story from beginning to end and look forward to reading more of her works.
Exquisitely Powerful & Powerfully Beautiful… Those who have suffered abuse as a child will tell you loving and trusting are difficult animals to embrace. Accepting love and trust is equally difficult. We love differently. We trust differently. Our very souls relate to things…differently.
And while we navigate overcoming our traumas, even the most successful among us will forever remain, different. Because getting past trauma doesn’t mean you forget it. It doesn’t mean you forget how it made you feel, or how it alters the very synapses of your brain. And the worst part is you know it, feel it deep within your marrow, and it often fills you with embarrassment and rage. And sometimes you can’t help it bubbling up through the cracks of your public facade. No matter how well fitted that facade may be.
Such is the plight of Beauty and the Billionaire’s protagonist Thomas. And boy did I understand him all too well, because I have lived in his rage, his shame, and his fear.
“Beauty and the Billionaire” by Lauren Landish is a wonderfully written book about dealing with the reality of the ongoing emotional, physical, and mental fallout of such a childhood. The majesty of Lauren Landish’s prose wrapped me deep within Thomas and Mia’s world with such explosive power it cracked open memories of things long since set aside. It made me root for Thomas every time he battled his inner demons. It made me fill with pride every time he refused to give up on his growing connection with Mia. It made my stomach clench every time he punished himself in order to deal with his pain and the ongoing trauma that is his abusive father Dennis. And it made me want to hug and thank Mia fiercely for having the courage to see Thomas for what he truly is, a good, honorable, and worthy man, despite his lingering demons.
I loved this book. And despite feeling let down a bit by the lack of resolution with Dennis. Or the absence of a chapter (or at least a few paragraphs) describing the final board meeting and final confrontation between Thomas and Dennis that had to have happened there. A literary absence that left me feeling a little lost and let down at the end, like I was missing some final emotional key. A key I personally needed, like the last piece of an emotional puzzle. Even with this though, I can honestly say I would read a hundred more books about these two characters and the world that surrounds them.
Quite simply, this book is superb and deeply emotional. And if you walk away from reading it without pain in your chest…you are simply not human!
Yes it’s a romance beyond it all. And YES there is sex, a lot of it in all it’s rough and dirty glory. But it’s also a powerfully complex story, with powerfully complex emotions, and equally powerful consequences. And it was a beautiful thing to behold. Bravo to Lauren Landish for writing this book, and for writing about something so very real, so exquisitely.
Just couldn’t get into it, read half the book and just didn’t want to invest my time to finish it. Did not enjoy this book.
Ok. But just that.
Great story, great characters!
I love this book so much that I brought the second book. Great story from beginning to the end.
This is a Kindle Unlimited read, and I was a little hesitant because I had never read anything by Lauren Landish. But I’m a sucker for a Beauty and the Beast story, so I decided to give it a whirl! Gotta say the language was a little harsher than I usually go for, and you really wanted to kill the leading man’s dad by the end of this thing for the horrific abuse he put him through. Overall though, it was a pretty retelling. The pacing was good, the twist at the end was well set up, and I really want to know what the evil Mr. Blackwell is going to try next! So I recommend for mature audiences only!
I really enjoyed this book. It was more than what I expected. I liked the way the fairy tail is woven into a modern day story.
Thomas is quite a damaged guy. Trauma from his past has given him a reputation as being a heartless boss in his company. Mia is a computer geek who catches his eye in a meeting. She sees a different side of Tommy that no one else does. Can her love be enough to tame the savage beast? This was a good romance with a little mystery, wondering who has it out for Thomas.
Mia is a quirky Nerd that loves being herself and being a Data Analysis at Goldstone Inc. She’s works in the basement because she plays her music loud and gets the job done. Thomas Goldstone is the founder of Goldstone Inc and he makes sure his place of business is ran smoothly. He’s known as the Ruthless Bastard to most. So when he meets Mia, something inside him wants her. Can she handle the Beast of the man inside? Great read
There are really great things about both characters that make you invested in them and hope for the best. Thomas and Mia each have their quirks but each are trying to be better humans and they’re just so relatable. Mia loves anime, video games, and data while Thomas is trying to make up for a lost childhood by secretly working with kids in need and doing good deeds. Loved their relationship and the way they worked together!
He’s a bit angry and dark. She she’s through it to his heart. Then they find the way out of the dark. Was a nice book. Happy end but also a cliffhanger.
