If you enjoyed Disney’s cartoon version of Beauty and the Beast then you’ll enjoy this book as well. The author has created a very strong and modern female character for the male yet at the same time yet it takes place during medieval times. Even though we all know the Beauty and the Beast story, believe me this book is worth reading because the author added enough changes to it to make the story very interesting…and (spoiler alert) you’ll love the way the book ends!
Beauty and the Beast was a fun read, but Beast as a Dragon shifter?! That just made my day:)
I typically don’t enjoy romances with less steam, but this really captivated me.
This was an interesting twist on the classic fairy tale, with lots of magic and a dragon for the beast. I very much enjoyed it, as beauty and the beast is one of my favorite fairytales, and this take on it allowed beauty (aka Princess Anastasia) to really grow and come into her own powers and confidence during the course of the story. She has untapped magical gifts and the beast gives her the space, encouragement and tools to really become a force to be reckoned with. I also enjoyed the way the author explored the theme of love in all it’s forms (even for difficult parents) and how the affection she has for the beast stems first from friendship. My only niggle is that I was hoping that the story would be a little sexier, and while there was a nice steamy payoff, the slow burn up to that point didn’t really work for me.
I enjoyed this story so much and loved the ending.
A good take on a fairy tale adult fantasy romance. I like the people in this, the problem of the Beast was somewhat original, the resolution and their happiness together works, and it was a good setup for the rest of the series.
The non-Disney version. Great story!
I love the characters in the book written a style of the original story but with added twists. The characters are relatable, sometimes funny, and with a little bit of erotic in dreams and in life at the end. It is also a charming story written for adults. The plot is a simple one it has many depths presented to make it a better story fit for adults.
I recognise that this was, ultimately, Ana’s story. I’m now going to trawl through the story list to see if I can’t find one on the Witch Queen and Rua. Cos I reckon that would be a fabulous story. Fantastic novel. Well worth a read..Highly recommended for somebody who likes to a little enchanting story to read.
This particular retelling of the fairy tale is in turns grim and gritty, and optimistically joyous. What makes this rendition particularly gripping is the individual journeys of the characters from what they were to what they had the potential to become (unfortunately though a lot of suffering and trials). At the end, the reader shares and thrills to the triumphs enjoyed by Beauty, her Beast and each of her parents. I do not recommend this novel for children – some of the topics addressed are very noir and adult – but young adults might find this book speaking to them about what it might look like to become adult.
loved it!!!
A story you read before but with an interesting twist. Really kept me reading from the very beginning to the end. You want more.
As a huge Disney fan, the title drew me in. however, this isn’t your typical Disney fairy tale. It captivating and full of everything a romance should be.,
Anastasia is most definitely our hero of this story and I am so happy that is so. She is compassionate, intelligent, beautiful and strong. Beast is just a ssofty; underneath that gruff dragon exterior. this story gave meal; the feels a fairytale should and it gave a unique twist on a classic Disney tale.
Belle has been and always will be my favorite Disney Princess and in this story, she once again reign supreme for me.
I can’t wait to read more of the series.
Really enjoyed it new twist on ageless story!
New take on old story.
This was an unexpected surprise for me. Both the prince beast and the princess had flaws at the beginning but seemed to grow more admirable as their dreams began to influence their behavior.
This was a sweet & tender romance. This would be a good book for a teenager that might want a romantic novel.
I liked this story. The characters were well thought-out and the creator had great affection for the story. She has created a place and people who feel solidly drawn and fairly real for a fairy tale. The book is long, given the subject, but it moves along nicely. I would gladly spend another book or two in this realm.
I love books that have a fairytale retelling. In hooked on these books now.
Excellent redo of my favorite fairy tale!
I actually really liked this book. It had a magical shifter twist with the beast being a dragon shifter condemned to being one permanently unless someone will love him in this form. I loved the chemistry between Anastasia and Alistair and their blooming friendship. A worthwhile fantasy read.
