A sexy small town, beauty and the beast rom com!Sawyer Landry knows he’s been beastly to be around for the past few months. But he can’t seem to remember how to be fun-loving and friendly. Until he sees Juliet Dawson on his boat dock… and realizes that hip waders are, apparently, one of his turn-ons. But despite the beauty in the boots, the last thing he needs right now is a city girl in his way … needs right now is a city girl in his way for the next two weeks.
But he’s not really getting a vote. Juliet is determined that her little brother rebuild the dock he and his idiot friends smashed. She’s quirky, klutzy, independent…and possibly an even bigger pessimist than Sawyer is. He’s incredibly drawn to the cynical fish-out-of-water, who seems to be the one person who isn’t intimidated by his growling.
The big, gruff boat captain is the first person in a long time to want to watch out for her and Juliet finds that hotter than his grandma’s jambalaya. Well, that and his sexy scar, his emotional baggage, and the sense of humor and fun that is buried deep. But Sawyer doesn’t need any more people to worry about long-term and the things that make him feel protective of Juliet aren’t going to go away.
So, this two-week adventure can’t be anything more than a fling. With Juliet down on the bayou, there’s an even bigger threat than alligators and hurricanes. There’s the very good chance of someone ending up with a broken heart.

Sawyer and Juliet’s love story in Beauty and the Bayou by Erin Nicholas, book three in her Boys of the Bayou series, was amazing as they were perfect for each other. Ms. Nicholas’ books are a must read for me as they grab me and don’t let go from the moment I open the book and read page one.
Sawyer has been grumpy, bristly, beastly, and overly safety conscious since the death of his best friend; the fun-loving, looking for a good time guy has been missing in action. Then one day he discovers a beautiful woman wearing hip waders and a life jacket on his boat deck and suddenly he realizes that this look is turning him on. Juliet Dawson is determined that her little brother rebuild the dock he and his idiot friends smashed. She is a city girl who is just might be a bigger pessimist than Sawyer; especially since she is an expert at playing the “What-ifs” game. Juliet suffered a childhood stroke which limited her body strength yet she did not allow it to stop her. She was strong, smart, self-deprecating, brave, and able to be prepared so that she couldn’t be limited in her inclusion of various activities. Juliet was perfect for Sawyer. She made him feel safe, understood, and appreciated. Sawyer was not only drawn to Juliet but wanted to watch out for her, take care of her, or maybe protect her. As Sawyer and Juliet spend time together not only are they getting more attracted to each other but sparks are flying; at least these sparks won’t ignite a fire in the bayou. Juliet was learning to overcome her fears and that sometimes you have to do things you don’t like because the people you love need you to. What started as a two-week adventure for Juliet was turning into more than just a fling with Sawyer; hopefully a future together.
Ms. Nicholas wrote a wonderful, humorous, challenging, and sexy story that is not to be missed. This story is filled with sexual chemistry, fun dialogue, and endearing characters. This book contains a cast of characters one would only find in an Erin Nicholas story. I am so glad Sawyer and Juliet found the courage to take a chance at love and a forever together. I highly recommend Beauty and the Bayou to other reader and cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I love this series so much. This might be my favorite book so far. I was instantly sucked into this one. I literally had a hard time putting it down. I got frustrated that life kept interrupting my reading because it’s so good. I loved Sawyer and Juliet. I couldn’t have hand picked someone better than Juliet for Sawyer. I loved the opening with Sawyer insta lusting over Juliet’s get up. Juliet just grabs at your heart at why she’s so over prepared for everything. Then throw in Sawyer who appreciates and understands her quirkiness that will make any girl swoon. We know how Sawyer has been since the beginning of this series and it breaks your heart for the guy. I loved that Juliet brings the old Sawyer out to play and she understand Sawyer right back. This is a must read because it’s full of feels, but it has the humor I love from this series. I laughed quite often while reading this book. I love Sawyer’s family and friends so much. It also brings the heat. Juliet and Sawyer have a ton of chemistry and connection. If you haven’t read this series then you’re truly missing out on something great.
“A fantasy he didn’t even know he had.”
Sawyer is a wounded soul as of late. Losing your best friend can do that to you. He’s lost, angry and tired of everyone acting recklessly around the bayou. There are dangers everywhere and he needs to make sure everyone knows it. Unfortunately that has gotten his tours the new nickname of doom and gloom. Now he finds himself staring at the nicest behind he’s seen as of late hanging off the edge of his busted dock.
Juliet has had a rough time in her life, being extra cautious and organizing every aspect of her life has brought her peace in the turmoil. Being in Autre to help her bonehead brother rebuild the dock he damaged is the last place she wanted to be, but she refuses to let Chase grow up to be like his over privileged older brothers. He needs to learn responsibility and after meeting with the partners of Boys of the Bayou, she knows this is the way.
Juliet is trying to find out if she has enough materials to rebuild the Boys of the Bayou dock after her brother stole an airboat and slammed off the dock. She drops her phone into the mud after getting scared by the husky voice behind her and promptly loses her balance on the dock. Getting hauled up by her shorts has her both frightened and aroused. Especially when she gets a good look at her savior.
Sawyer and Juliet could not be more perfect for one another. Sawyer is always looking for the safe way for every minute of every day. His family is used to him now and just rolls their eyes. When he lays eyes on Juliet, in her neon safety vest and hip waders, he thinks he may have met his ideal woman.
I have been drawn to Sawyer since he first appeared way back when and was dying to know his story. Once again and as always, I was not disappointed in the least. This story of two people who are cautious beyond belief and yet free in each other’s arms had me on quite a ride. I felt like I was right along side these two as they come out of their shells and realize they can be themselves with each other, maybe in a more muted fashion per say, but still true to self.
5 out of 5 stars for this return to the bayou. Sawyer is a man with many faults, but he owns them and works at them. Juliet is the way life has made her, but she knows each time she falls down, she will get back up again. This story has all the feels and more.
I loved this story of Juliet and Sawyer. I loved that each was able to help the other out of a shell that they had not know they were in or did know and couldn’t get out of.
Can&’t wait for the next story!!
I could not put this book down. This has to be one of my favorite series. If you haven’t read this series it’s a must! I’m so happy Sawyer finally got his happy ending.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Erin Nicholas takes us back to the bayou with a sexy and brooding hero. I love these Landry boys!
Once again, Erin Nicholas shows me why she has become a fast favorite of mine and delivers an incredible read. This is the third book to the series and it can be read as a standalone, which is what I have done and even though I feel like I may be missing some things, I still think this is epic and I will be going to book 1 and reading the series in order.
Erin isn’t new to me but this series is. I have always loved Erin’s style of writing, she has a way of sucking you in hard and not letting go until the end of the book and days after you will find yourself thinking about her words.
This was like a Beauty and The Beast story but with major plot twists.
Juliet was a heroine you cannot help but fall in love with. Everything about spoke volume. Though at times she could be a little naive (Can’t we all?) she was also a kind-hearted, fierce, loving and sweet girl that in no way would let someone walk all over her. She protective as hell and will always stick up and be there for those dearest to her.
Sawyer was jaded, he has demons and he was living them daily. You can physically see his demons. After a tragedy happens and he is left with disfigured, and he becomes a shadow of the man he once was.
Sawyer and Juliet together were epic. The moment these two met, I just knew they were meant for each other. They drew strength off each other. Juliet was extremely protective of Sawyer and Sawyer was protective of her. It was always in Sawyers natural to be anyway. So when it came to her… It only heightened. These two both had issues, but when it came to them together. They had a way of bringing light out in each other.
The growth between them both as one and apart as this book progressed was something special to read. I was completely addicted. This book was fun. It had me laughing most the way through, yet it holds more than that. It was a mixture of comedy, heartfelt and heat with twists added in.
After sitting on this for a few days after reading it, I have come to the point where I won’t be diving in deep and giving you every damn detailed… I will leave you with this.
JUST READ THE BOOK!!! You will not be disappointed!
5 Stars!
What do you do if you are afraid of going outside your boundaries? Do you live in your safe little padded room without the thrill of experiencing new things? Or, do you learn everything you can about it, take precautions that may seem over the top & experience it anyway? Juliet had a stroke & almost drowned when she was a child. Her mother started to panic if Juliet even did every day, simple things because she might get hurt again. Juliet took that to heart. She may have ended up almost wrapped in pads & safety gear but then she went out & did it. She rode that bike & scrapped herself up when she fell but all of her precautions minimized the injuries. So she continued with this behavior.
Sawyer loved the Bayou & everything it entailed until his best friend was accidentally injured out in the Bayou & Sawyer wasn’t fast enough to save him. Now, instead of seeing the Bayou as the same entertaining but dangerous place it’s always been, he just sees the danger. He’s determined to keep everyone safe & it’s changed his temperament from funny & sexy to dark & brooding. Until he met Juliet & realized she was even more paranoid about safety than he was.
This was the best story!! In the words of little Conner, “Everyone needs someone to balance them out.” How can a little kid be so smart? Sawyer & Juliet balance each other out & support each other. They both have fears & paranoid concerns but Sawyer keeps Juliet from being too serious. He pulls her out of her own thoughts & helps her prepare for any eventuality. Juliet reminds Sawyer that he doesn’t have to be the only one looking out for everyone. It’s not on him to keep everyone safe. This story hit every button. Sympathy for what they’ve both been through. Laughter for the pictures Ms. Nicholas has drawn in my mind of Juliet in all of her safety gear. Fear that Juliet & Sawyer have, & are still feeling, but also the fear of Sawyer’s family watching him drift further away from the person he once was. I loved catching up with Gabe, Stella & Conner & experiencing their moments with Sawyer. This was the hottest, most intense story I’ve read in a while & I loved it! I really can’t wait for Kennedy & Bennett!
What happens when you mix two people who:
A. Overthink EVERYTHING!
B Are Doomsday thinkers…everything that can happen will and how can I prevent that?
C. Have had terrible things happen to them and now have to cope.
Well, you bring them together in the Bayou, toss them with quirky family members, add in a heaping helping of well meaning friends, bake at about 90 degrees with 80% humidity, and see what you get when it’s not only the temperature that gets REALLY hot!
Beauty and the Bayou is a sexy, fun read about a pretty lawyer, Juliet, who wants her med school bound brother, Chase, to learn some down to earth skills, and a muscle bound Louisiana Bayou man, Sawyer, who wants everyone to be safe, because he knows what happens when tragedy strikes.
I love this series! Beauty and the Bayou brings us back to Southern Louisiana where there might be danger around every bend in the river, but there is always family that has your back no matter what. I can hear the Zydeco calling!
4.5 stars
Erin Nicholas’ Boys of the Bayou series just keeps getting better and better. After the set up for Beauty and the Bayou at the end of book #2, I was really looking forward to reading Sawyer and Juliet’s story.
The humor and romance that I love about Erin Nicholas’ books are 100% on point, and she once again writes realistic characters you can empathize with. The issues couples face in her books feel honest, real, and not contrived to create conflict.
As with the other books in the series, favorite characters from both the Boys of the Big Easy and Boys of the Bayou books make appearances. It’s always fun to catch up with them and see what they have been up to.
While Beauty and the Bayou can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the Boys of the Big Easy and the other two Boys of the Bayou books!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
This book is just another reason why I will never miss an Erin Nicholas romance! Sawyer’s reaction to Juliet’s arrival, both of their interactions with each other and the secondary characters, their undeniable chemistry, their need to help each other, their obvious love for their families. There isn’t one thing about this book that I didn’t love. There’s nothing I would change. Well, the only thing I would change would be the ability to start at the beginning and read this amazing story for the first time! I went to sleep after finishing with a tear in my eye and a big smile on my face! I’m anxiously awaiting Kennedy’s story…
This was such a great read! The writing flowed well from start to finish, and Sawyer and Juliet’s chemistry was hot! I loved Sawyer. I knew that he was having problems from the previous book. He was hurting more than I thought, though. He was a great man, and even though Chase and Juliet were there under not the best circumstances, he welcomed them both. As did his family. I loved that Juliet and Sawyer were such a good match for each other. Juliet had her problems as well, but it was great seeing them realize that whatever happens, they have each other to help through the tough times. The Landry’s are the best! I love all the secondary characters in these stories, and it makes me want to visit LA for a Bayou Boys tour! I CAN’T wait for Kennedy’s book 🙂
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
I absolutely loved everything about this book. Erin did an amazing job matching these 2 people together. She created amazing characters that you absolutely fall in love with. It was fun, sexy and so charming, it’s one of those stories that you wish would never end. Deserves more than 5 stars. Can’t wait for Kennedy and Bennet’s story, I’m sure that one will be spectacular too.
4.25 stars–BEAUTY AND THE BAYOU is the third instalment in Erin Nicholas’ contemporary, adult BOYS OF THE BAYOU erotic, romance series focusing on the Landry family. This is twenty-seven year old attorney Juliet Dawson, and tour boat operator Sawyer Landry’s story line. BEAUTY AND THE BAYOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Juliet and Sawyer) BEAUTY AND THE BAYOU follows the building relationship between twenty-seven year old attorney Juliet Dawson, and tour boat operator Sawyer Landry. Days earlier Juliet’s younger brother stole a boat and all but destroyed the Landry boat docks. Hoping to make amends without having her brother sent to prison for theft and damage, Juliet sets out to make reparations on her own. Enter Sawyer Landry, the man with whom Juliet will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Juliet and Sawyer, and the potential fall-out as Juliet’s fears come to the surface threatening to drown her relationship with the man that she loves.
Juliet Dawson struggles with the repercussions of a childhood illness that continues to affect her daily life. Over protective to the point of obsession, Juliet comes prepared to repair the dock but leaves her heart open to falling in love. Sawyer Landry has been lost since the death of his business partner Tommy Alain, a partner he considered a brother and a friend. Hurting and scarred both inside and out Sawyer battles between head and heart with his attraction to our story line heroine.
The relationship between Sawyer and Juliet is one of immediate attraction but Sawyer was unprepared for the steam-roller that was Juliet Dawson. Desperate to teach her brother a lesson, and keep him out of jail, Juliet all but takes over the dock reparations on her own, and in the process, pulls our hero closer to her heart. The $ex scenes are limited but erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are reintroduced to the large extended Landry family including Josh and Tori (My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding #1), Owen and Madison (Sweethome Louisiana #2) , sister Kennedy, grandma Ellie, Aunt Cora and billionaire investor and new business partner Bennett Baxter. Bennett and Kennedy’s story is next in Crazy Rich Cajuns.
The world building continues to focus on the Landry family dynamics; their tour boat operations, and life in the Louisiana Bayou. Grandma Ellie’s bar is the local hang out for family and friends, as well as the local gossip about falling in love and life in Autre, Louisiana.
BEAUTY AND THE BAYOU is a story of family, friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is steamy and hot; the characters are sexy, sassy, and a little bit broken-there is plenty of back and forth snark, double entendre and witty interplay between our leading couple, as well as between the Landry clan.
I was soo glad to see Sawyer her his happily ever after after everything he went through with the past 9 months. Juliet is everything he needs to get back to the “old Sawyer”. Juliet’s over compensation for her stroke at at young age makes Sawyers over protective nature, especially since he lost Tommy, stop and take notice. You would think that two over protective and cautious people would be over cautious together but Sawyer seems to notice how over the top he was and how he treated everyone. With Juliet’s help he over comes his fears as well as help Juliet trust hat someone else can help with out hovering. Loved this book can’t wait until the next book in the series!
The past few months, Sawyer’s name has been synonymous with grumpy, his ability to have fun seeming to have disappeared. But one glimpse of Juliet in hip waders changes all that. Except she’s a city girl and happens to be the sister of the guy responsible for wrecking his dock, with the help of some of his friends.
Juliet wants to make everything right, though her cynicism leads her to believe that’s impossible, and her klutziness and strive to be independent creates its own problems on top of that. And the man imitating a beast isn’t going to make her behave any differently.
Of course, the fact he seems to want to take care of her is as appealing as it is shocking, and intriguing. And while Sawyer is protective of Juliet, he doesn’t particularly want to add another person to the list of people under his care. But there’s just something about her…
Will Sawyer realize when it’s love, the pros far outweigh the cons? Or will he be content with only having Juliet temporarily? Will she be able to handle letting go of her need to face things herself and allow another to help her? Is a HEA possible for Sawyer and Juliet?

I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This is book 3 in the series but it easily stands alone. I have read book 1 and not yet book 2 (its on my Amazon wish list) and yet I still felt like I did not miss much from not yet reading book 2.
In this story we have two main characters. Sawyer is a scarred man who runs the Bayou business with his family. He has lost one of his partners and best friends Tom (brother of Maddie from book 2) in a Bayou incident. He has not been the same since the accident and his family tries to deal with his fears and anger at how his life has changed.
In this story we meet Juliet and her baby brother, Chase. They are in town for two weeks to help build Sawyer’s dock as Chase had an accident where he destroyed the dock. Ellie had a childhood accident that changed her life and she understands Sawyer’s fears and really shows him to move on with fears and an incident that changes your life.
This was a more serious story as both Juliet and Sawyer have real struggles and fears. Ones that don’t magically go away but they learn from each other how to face their fears. The big issue is that Juliet only has a limited amount of time in town and so they need to make every minute count.
This was a wonderful written and poignant story that seems more realistic than most romances. I highly recommend it as it is wonderful story with a great cast of supporting characters.
This sexy and highly entertaining story is book 3 in the Boys of the Bayou series and it features Sawyer and Juliet. Their chemistry all but smacks you in the face as soon as they meet! It was so great! Her brother damaged the dock belonging to Boys of the Bayou Swamp Boat and Fishing Tours and she’s there to help him rebuild it. If there was ever a woman more perfect for Sawyer, she’s it! She’s like him but maybe a bit worse. They call it the “What-If” game and the “Yeah, But” game and these two are both expert players.
This is probably my favorite book in this series. I laughed and smiled so many times. The story line was great and the characters, as always, are fan-freakin-tastic! I ALWAYS look forward to books by this author cause I am forever guaranteed a fun, sexy and romantic read with characters I’d love to be friends with in real life.
Finally Sawyer gets is HEA with someone who’s a bigger “What If…” / “Yeah but…” person than he is. Fantastic read!!!
Added bonus of catching up with Tori & Maddie & Gus ( 🙂 ) from prior books & all the rest of the Boys of the Bayou!
Can’t wait for Kennedy’s & Bennett’s book…ooooh weeee that’s going to a book!
Great Series!
Fabulous. Sawyer and Juliet captivated me. The Landry clan are experts at interfering in each other’s lives. When they met Juliet, they knew she would be the perfect match for super-cautious Sawyer. Juliet is an incredible woman, successful lawyer that lives with a right-side weakness from her childhood. Because of this, she is a master planner, anticipating any and all contingencies before she dives into something new. She doesn’t have spontaneity in her life, but she knows she can traverse whatever she chooses because of her plans. She has become a master playing the “what-if” and “yes-but” games and never expects to meet a man that understands her need to evaluate all these issues. Sawyer lost himself after Tommy’s death. His love of the bayou, while still there, is tarnished with fear for those he loves and trying to keep them safe. When he meets Juliet, he is blown away and immediately adores her life vest and safety goggles … a woman after his own heart. As these two rebuild the dock that Juliet’s brother damaged, will they find a way to moderate their fears and embrace love? Or will their fears force them apart? Another incredible romance involving the entire Landry clan. I love how they embraced Juliet and Chase, they have big hearts and great spirits. I would love to hang out at Ellie’s and enjoy her chicken fried steak! I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
