It was a really great first installment. And I can’t wait to read more. Ashley was looking for a fresh start and decided to come back to her grandparents’ home town. Little did she know by coming back she was going to meet the handsome and sweet chief of police who was a little bit intense from the first time.
Yes, it was insta connection but well written, and I really enjoyed their story. Ashley had finally found her place far from all the busy life and the city, where she felt like she didn’t belong.
Charlotte Cove was her home and she had a chance to start over without any trouble… that what she thought.
As the police chief officer, Tyler has to be a model for this community, to protect the ones in need and to fight injustice. In this small town where people know everything about you, keeping his interest at bay when it comes to the sweet Ashley was impossible. But his last choices proved him wrong and he has to make sure that his instant connection was more than physical.
I adored Ashley and Tyler. First, because she was totally off balance with that guy and not believing that he was interested. I was afraid this side would have been more emphasized and making like she was a damsel in distress but hopefully it wasn’t. Second they took things slow and getting to know each other, with some meddling from their friends and it was kind of adorable. He was wary with women due this past experiences but he couldn’t help to be around, powerfully attracted and not very subtle about it.
When Tyler’s past threaten to destroy all his chances with Ashley and mostly a future, he’ll have to show her how much she means to him. I adored how thoughtful he was, so passionate and sweet, le freaking sigh…
I appreciated how the characters went from sweet to smoking hot in a few seconds. I can’t wait for the other stories to come because the author managed to write some interesting supportive characters.
A delightful slow burn romance combined with a hint of suspense. The small town charm is definitely working!
Ella Fox nailed it! This small town romance has a big heart and lots of heat.
Beauty and the Badge was such a sweet and heart warming story! Reading it felt like being wrapped up in your favorite cozy blanket, wearing cute pj’s while sipping on a great cup of coffee. Aka pure bliss. I actually can’t believe that this is the first book I’ve read from Ella Fox. I was seriously missing out! She’s an extremely talented author. With Charlotte’s Cove, she created a totally dreamy, picturesque setting for her novel. Who wouldn’t want to live in a cottage at the sea, having old sweet ladies as neighbors who take care of you and play matchmakers on occasion? Sounds like the perfect place to live! But what made me love this book so much was not only the place the story took place, but also the amazing, loveable characters.
Leaving big city life behind for good, Ashlyn moves to Charlotte’s Cove, the small, peaceful seaside town she’s spent every summer since childhood. In hopes of a fresh start, she accepts the position as the new receptionist at the police station. The moment she meets the new chief, Tyler Jameson, the sparks fly. Too bad this fine, sexy specimen is her new boss. Despite the instant chemistry between them, both are hesitant to act on it at the beginning. Just as Tyler decides to make a move, a woman from his past appears, making Ashley retreat completely. Deep down Tyler knows that there’s only one woman for him and that giving her up is no option. Will the chief be able to win Ashley’s heart? Or will the evil woman from his past destroy every chance at a HEA for him and his raven haired beauty?
I loved Ashley and Tyler with all my heart. They were made for each other! He was the ultimate protective and possessive alpha who worshipped the ground his woman was walking on. I loved how he took care of Ashley. She was the sweetest and kindest person ever and deserved a great guy like him. Now I would love if Ben and Jana, Tyler’s colleagues and officers, would get their own books. I really liked them!
If you’re looking for a safe read, without unnecessary drama and the right amount of sweet and sexy, then this book is for you! Congratulations to Boom Factory Publishing and Ella Fox on this beautiful small town romance. I’m so looking forward to more books from the Charlotte’s Cove series. 4,5 stars!
What an amazing story. Who knew moving to a town that they love will find them love.
Ella Fox did amazing with this book.
I loved Ashley and Tyler together, they were perfect with how Tyler treated her.
I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I am having the greatest time being a romance reader these days and this story is partly why!!
Okay, so you know that giddy feeling you get when you read a romance set in a small town. You know the one … the one where you can’t help the smile on your face because it’s so damn charming and everything from the meddling old ladies to the mean girl from high school is part of the story?
This story has all that and a blast of sexy heat on the side all wrapped up in a cocoon of emotions! I’m in love with this story ya’ll … seriously in love!
Oh my gosh! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. I am in love with Charlotte’s Cove and all its residents but most importantly, I am in love with Tyler and Ashley. This story has so much heart. At its core, it’s about family. The family you create. The family that you love and loves you back. However, Tyler is that one guy you want because he treats you as you should be treated, no matter what. There was no high angst here when it came to their relationship and I love that. I laughed, so hard, at times; but I also smiled, cried, and blushed. This is just perfect. I can’t wait to see what else happens in Charlotte’s Cove and what Millie and Felicity have planned next.
This was such a sweet story. The writing was clear, easy to follow along and well written. I really liked the amount of detail given, it allowed me to form a clear mental picture of what was going on.
Ashley is an unfailingly kind, beautiful and wonderful woman. I found her kindness and pure heart endearing. Tyler is a somewhat guarded yet wonderful man who knows what he wants. I enjoyed the interactions of these characters and their journey together.
Overall, it was a good read with an abundance of heart. It was a bit too sweet for me, like watching a Lifetime movie in my head. However, I still enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more works from this author.
This book is amazing, the world building and characters are fantastic and I could actually visualise Charlotte’s Cove. A little piece of heaven on earth.
Ashley is a sweet, beautiful lady from LA, that has strong connections with Charlotte’s Cove as her grandparents owned a house there. She visited there every year and absolutely loved it.
She was working for a horrible internet influencer called Hadley, who verbally abused her.
After being held at gunpoint one night in her cousins store Ashley re-evaluates her life and decides to leave her job and move to Charlotte’s Cove into the house her grandparents left her in their will.
A neighbour tells her that there is a job available at the police station in Charlotte’s Cove and Ashley gets the position, sight unseen.
Upon arriving at her new job she meets Tyler Jameson, who just happens to be the police Chief.
Sparks fly and connections are instant.
This book is definitely up there with my best reads….
Ashley ends up having a bit of a life wake up call and it lands her in the little town her family vacationed at every summer, Charlottes Cove. Since everyone knows her, she ends up getting a job at the police station, before she moves there. Oh, and what do you know, her new boss happens to be sexy af and already extremely interested in her. Tyler is Chief of police and is so funny when he meets her, his interest is quite obvious to everyone, but her. It’s rather entertaining, at least I thought it was. Or maybe smitten is a better word than interested, he practically claims her from the start. Seriously, so funny.
This was a safe read. Dirty talking ott alpha that pretty much treats her like she walks on water….very nice. He was also persistent and didn’t give up when things weren’t quite going his way. Ashley is sweet, almost in a submissive way, but something happens and I was so proud and impressed that she stood her ground. These two were so hot, like whew baby hot. Baby batter, epilogue and an hea. Good storyline with some drama/suspense. Loved the secondary characters, especially the ones that have known her since she was little and treat her like family. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
Oh and I wanted to give a shout out for the Acknowledgments of the book…loved them.
Beauty and the Badge had me enchanted right from the start. Ashley was a character that you wanted to befriend and Tyler was an alpha that had you swooning. Their story is overflowing with chemistry, passion and enough steam to fog up your kindle screen. A romance that is full of drama and suspense and will have you on the edge of your seat. Charlotte Cove will wraps itself around you as the love, the friendships and the relaxing sea air wrap it’s way around your heart. Tyler and Ashley are two characters that will melt your heart and have you wishing on a star that these two get their happily ever after.
How did I miss this author?!? I’ve read a lot of books, and I don’t think I’ve run across any by this author. And after reading Beauty and the Badge, I’m pretty sure I’d remember! This was a fun (and HOT!) story that epitomizes the concept of Karma! I absolutely adored Tyler and Ashley!
Ashley is a small town girl at heart, caught up in the big city. And she’s miserable! When something scary happens, she starts re evaluating her life, and what is important. This leads to her uprooting her life, and moving to the small town she spent her summers in growing up.
Tyler is a small town Sheriff. And one look at Ashley was all it took to know that she is where his future lies. Even with the instant attraction, and immediate connection, there are obstacles that could keep them from finding their HEA.
This story was everything I look for in a romance. There was the insta-love that I adore, a little danger, and a lot of heat! Tyler and Ashley are an ordinary couple, living an extraordinary life! They were both so down to earth, and the story was so much fun! This was an amazing introduction to this author, and I can’t wait to find out what is in store for Charlotte’s Cove next!
4 1/2
Ashley Colton is extremely unhappy in her job and when push comes to shove, literally, she decides a change is in order. She moves to Charlotte’s Cove and accepts a position as office manager at the local police station where she meets the chief, Tyler Jameson.
Tyler is one hunky, handsome fellow with a caring and loyal nature. Ashley is also caring, loyal and sweet but when it’s needed she can stand up for herself, I totally loved that side of her personality coming out. Together they have an intense chemistry and the passion between them is combustible. The other main characters are fascinating and I look forward to reading their stories too. Millie deserves a special mention as she is a wonderful character, with her naval wine coolers.
Throughout the story there is a hefty dose of humour, especially Ashley and Millie who is a crack up. From fun banter between characters to humorous expressions like this one- ‘…jeans that are tight but not “oh my God, why is that girl showing us her business?” tight…’ And..’This revelation is going over like a f*rt in church.’ The wonderful humour is one reason why I gave it an extra half a star.
Overall this is fast paced mainly because of the great descriptions and solid storyline. A good dose of suspense rounds things out very nicely too and another reason for the extra half a star. This is the first book by this author that I have had the pleasure to read but it most certainly won’t be the last.
I received a review copy before release for an honest review.
This is book 1 in a 2 book series about a place called Charlotte’s Cove, WA. It stars Ashley who is currently living in LA at the start of the book but when she is placed in a dangerous position she decides she wants to go back to her families summer home in Charlotte’s Cove. With the help of neighbors and friends she gets a job working at the Police Station and that is how she meet Tyler, her new boss.
This is a fun instalust romance at work and in a small town. It includes a mean spirited woman who once was the bully and who is more of a bully now than ever before and she had a thing with Tyler. So the first 50% of the book is sorta a love triangle between the three of them.
Later after Tyler shows Ashley how he feels the story is sweet, HOT and very romantic. This story has no boom or instalove but it does have instalust and Tyler is very HOT and Ashley definitely enjoyed Tyler. It was a wonderfully written story with characters I fell in love with and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
Beauty and the Badge is my first Ella Fox book. It’s a sweet story of rediscovering oneself after a change of event in life. Loss, love and rediscovery. Going back to the town that you were raised in brings back many great memories, even if that means dealing with the towns no-good troublemaker.
The story was great. Lots of background for the characters and the town. Meeting and working for Tyler, the Chief of Police, seems to be exactly what Ashley was looking for. A chance to start again and hopefully make a love connection. However, I found Tyler’s character confusing. When meeting and hanging out, he seemed like a sophisticated, yet down to earth guy. Only, during their times of passion and sometimes just random talking, his language was not in tune with his character. It seemed thuggish and just not who his character had been portrayed to be. It perplexed me and made me not like his character as much as I originally did. This is why my rating wasn’t higher. I was just put off by the use of his language. It wasn’t the dirtiness of it, because that doesn’t put me off at all. It was just how he used the terms that he did. It’s like it didn’t fit his persona. I did like the connection that the duo had. They were an instant fit and their relationship felt right.
All in all, the writing and story-line was sweet, and I would definitely read Ella Fox again.
Beauty and the Badge is a deliciously tempting classic romance that is undeniably full of feels, heat, drama, angst, twists and turns, just the perfect amount of suspense and intrigue, passion and steam and amazing characters which all adds up to an incredible romance read!!
You don’t want to miss out on Tyler Jameson and Ashley Colton’s story. Theirs is an amazing small town romance that will have you hooked from the start. Ella Fox has written a fantastic story, an amazing start to a new series. I enjoyed reading every page. I can’t wait for the next book in this new series.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *******
Beauty and the Badge
Charlotte’s Cove Book 1
Ella Fox
Oohhh I love Ella and her wonderful words. Might I just say I’m moving to Charlotte’s Cove, cause those police officers (enter face fanning now), and I’m going to speed and park illegally just so I have a reason to see sexy Tyler and Ben. Beauty and The Badge is book one in Ella‘s new series, and I’m already loving it and ready for so much more. Like all of her other stories be prepared for sexyiness, instant heat, instant chemistry , a lot of laughs and of course alpha men prepared to do anything for their women.
Ashley Colton has the crappies job with a boss that might as well be Freddy Kruger, she is the epitome of worst boss ever, never a nice word, always put downs, and the yelling I wanted to grab her myself . After a visit to a coffee shop Ashley’s life is put in danger she makes the realisation she doesn’t need the office assistant job, quitting in the spot. Deciding returning to Charlotte‘s Cove where her family holidayed every year. With a job finalised at the local police station and a house to live in, now she just had the drive. She doesn’t realise her life will change there too.
Chief of Charlotte’s Cove police service, Tyler Jameson takes his job very seriously. He’s got a great team, loves the town and the people, but his past keeps rearing it’s ugly head, but alas his new office woman is going to change everything. It takes about two seconds for Tyler to take in all of Ashley and know she’s the one for him.
In a game of sexy catch me if you can, it’s not long before she gives into to him, but as an unwelcome person from their past shows up it’s clear to Tyler, Ashley’s not easy and it’s going take everything he’s got to win her forever. God even I fell for his sexy stance, dirty words and sweet gestures. He stops at nothing now and will continue forever. Ashley is a little more conservative but he breaks her down bit by bit.
Enjoy Ella’s new book, it’s awesome. Guaranteed you’ll love it too. I’m secretly waiting for Ben now….
This was a really sweet book by Ella Fox. Ashley Colton’s life is not what she wants it to be. After working for a tyrant, being held at gun point and feeling as though her life isn’t going anywhere, she decides to pack it all up and move to Charlotte’s Cove, a place where she spent her summers as a child with her grandparents. There she meets Tyler Jameson, the local Police Chief and insanely hot guy….oh who also happens to be her new boss!
Here we have a slow burning romance, with some twists and suspense as well as some really hot moments and wonderful characters. The heat between Ashley and Tyler is out of this world and totally warms your heart! There are other secondary characters who are really sweet and help to carry the story. It will be interesting to see if there will be stories about them in this series.
Ella Fox has a way of telling a story that just weaves around you. It’s fast flowing with a little bit of drama mixed in to keep you engaged. If you like small time romances with a lot of heat, then this one is for you!
ARC received for a fair and honest review.
More of my reviews can be found on my blog: https://thehotmesslibrary.blogspot.com
The only word that comes to my mind after reading this book is “AMAZING” and “EXTRAORDINARILY BEAUTIFUL.” Ella Fox writes some of the sweetest books I’ve read. Ashley moves to Charlotte’s Cove, a place where she has always felt at home. There she meets a handsome man who happens to be her boss, sheriff Tyler. As soon as Tyler meets Ashley, he knows she is a special woman and will do what he can to call her his. These two will have to go through some hoops, but that only adds to how beautiful their relationship os turning. This one of my tops reads this year, and I am incredibly excited that Ella Fox has started a new series filled with great characters. This book is a page-turner, and it only took me a few hours to read. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
A sweet story with a definite instalove vibe, I really enjoyed this read from start to finish, what could be better than a hot cop who knows exactly what he wants and isn’t afraid to work for it! Definitely looking forward to more of this series and it’s great small town feel!
5 Stars
I have three words for you- OH MY GOSHH!!!
Beauty and the Badge by Ella Fox is the first book in the brand new Charlotte’s Cove series. I have been a long time fan of Ms. Fox and fell in love with her writing when I read The Hart Family series. I’ve loved each and every book she’s written since then, but always felt that nothing could top The Hart’s. So with that being said, SHE DID IT!!!! This incredible story is pure magic. All of the emotions and feelings and gah-I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved Tyler and Ashley’s story. There is something about small town romances that makes it so special and real and with Beauty and the Badge you get it all of that and then some!
Ashley was a dynamic heroine. She was done living the LA scene and took a chance moving to Charlotte’s Cove. She just knew that it was where she needed to be. When she meets Tyler, sparks fly. But she knows, there isn’t a chance for them being that he’s her new boss. Little did she know that Tyler wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Ashley’s growth was evident throughout the entire book and I feel that it had a lot to do with the hero, Tyler. Both Tyler and Ashley were realistic characters. Their connection was palpable and it made the story what it was-absolutely breathtaking. I am so excited to see where Ms. Fox takes this series. Highly recommend reading this book!
