I adored this book! It had so much warmth, heat, and suspense! Just want I love in a book! I can only wait impatiently for the next one and I will have to go and read the rest of her books! This is a book you will love to read.
This was such a feel good story. It just warmed my heart.
Ashley Colton is pretty much burnt out living in L.A., working for a horrible woman who constantly demeans her and after a life and death situation she decides to risk everything and get out of dodge. A love of Charlotte’s Cove was instilled in her by her late grandfather and she decides it’s the best place to restart her life. Little does she know it’s going to change in a big way.
Tyler Jameson is the Chief of Charlotte’s Cove’s Police Dept. A transfer from Seattle PD, he decided to move to Charlotte’s Cove in search of a more peaceful setting. When he meets Ashley, who is slated to take over the 911 operator position, he is instantly smitten with her. The chemistry is scorching. Just when he thinks things are going smoothly, a big mistake from his past threatens to destroy his chances.
This story seemed like a nice, quiet small-town romance story, which it was but it did have elements of suspense and a bit of danger in it which I truly enjoyed. It balanced out the story very nicely. I loved that the “evil” people got their comeuppance. Ashley turned out to be quite a fighter and Tyler was so adorable. As for the secondary characters, they were fabulous and the story line was amazing. Great job.
I am fairly new to this author but I really did enjoy this start to this new series. It had everything I like, romance, swoon-worthy alpha males, small amount of angst but in general a nice feel good read.
Ashley has moved to Charlotte Cove from LA as she wanted to change her life around. When she goes to start her new job as receptionist at the police station she never expected to find out her boss is the hottest guy shes ever met and the connection between them is palpable. Despite trying not to give into temptation their connection is too intense not to.
I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series.
A
Loved!! This is small town romance at its finest! Ella Fox is amazing! Tyler and Ashley’s story is so sweet with so much chemistry! I adored watching their story unfold! I cannot wait to get back to Charlotte’s Cove! Five huge stars!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. I have loved every book I’ve read by this author so I went into this book blind and was definitely not disappointed.
After Ashley is held at gunpoint in a robbery. She has decided she’s done with the fast pace Los Angeles and is ready to head to the simpler life in Charlotte’s Cove. It has been a dream of hers to live there since she was a little girl.
As Chief of Police, Tyler loves living in the small town. Everyone knows and takes care of each other. So when his secretary decides to retire he doesn’t think twice about hiring her recommendation. However, he wasn’t expecting the instant attraction when she walks in.
I loved this book and can’t wait for more in this new series.
*4,5 stars*
I’ve always enjoyed reading books by this author. I totally adored Tyler and Ashley’s story. It was a sweet, fun but also a suspensive story that you don’t want to miss out on! If you haven’t read anything by her yet, you definitely might enjoy this one 🙂
Ashley’s come to a point where she doesn’t want to keep living the life she does now and definitely doesn’t want to drag herself to her work. When a shocking event happens, she’s decided she has had enough. She picks up everything and moves to the one town she’s always been happy to visit. With a new job lined-up, things are looking brighter. When she first meets Tyler, of course the hottest guy she meets ends up being her new boss. Their chemistry is off the charts but she’s trying her hardest not to give into temptation. But sometimes feelings are just way too strong to deny and when something happens, it’ll change perspective… Even though Tyler does everything by the book, he can’t help but feel that Ashley’s slowly slipping away but the more he tries, the more her walls are coming down. Will he be able to get her to give him a chance? And that maybe whatever there is between them, is worth fighting for?…
I fluffin loved this.
The characters, the story, the chemistry, the HEA… everything about it was awesome.
I loved this book and definitely will be re-reading it again soon.
Five big stars.
This is the first book in the series and I can already tell I need more from this series. I’m so glad Ashley didn’t stay in L.A. because as unhappy as she was she deserved a fresh start. Going back to Charlotte’s Cove one of the best decisions she makes. I loved the small town setting and it made me want to go visit. Tyler is one yummy police chief and I thought he was adorable in the way is with Ashley. When we get inside his head it easily wins over the reader. There is one character in this one that’s truly nasty. I didn’t care for her one bit. She needed a little dose of karma for sure. This book had a good combination of humor, heart, heat, and suspense. There was one part of this book that had me on the edge of my seat. The epilogue had tears forming in my eyes with special moment for Ashley. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
LOVED THIS BOOK! This was my first book from Ella but it surely won’t be my last after this epic book! Not feeling fulfilled with her life in LA, Ashley is pondering life away from the big city, and after being held by gunpoint her perspective changes and she relocates to Charlotte’s Cove where her family’s cabin is and starts a new job there. Meeting her boss Tyler, there is instant chemistry between them, but after a misunderstanding, they spend weeks denying their feelings about each other. Once they face the music of their feelings and intentions, its somewhat smooth sailing from there, although some hiccups along the way, we see this pair develop their relationship and get into a routine. But it’s the routine that threatens their relationship and Ashley’s life when Tyler’s past comes back to haunt the both of them and Tyler is handling a work situation. I honestly loved this book and Ella’s style of writing – she gave us enough background information on everyone without dragging the book out, but also give us a great suspenseful read with the added bonus of romance involved. I also love that it introduced us to the (hopefully) rest of the characters that will be featured in this series, and I for one cannot wait for Ben and everyone else’s HEA!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is one of my favorite romances. I loved everything about it. The story, the writing, the characters, It has instant attraction, meddling elders, suspense, some hot times. Who could ask for more?
I really enjoy this author’s writing but especially this new series. This book has made me so excited for the rest to get their happily ever afters.
Ashley experienced a traumatic thing in LA when she was held at gunpoint in her “cousin’s” convenient store. She lost all sense of security since she lived above the store. She decided to finally accept that Charlotte’s Cove and her Grandfather’s house had been calling her for while. I mean, who needs a crappy boss and a life that she wasn’t truly living.
Charlotte’s Cove sounds like the perfect place to live. It is cozy and small town but if you really feel the need to venture, there is the tourist side of the island or you could drive to a bigger city, but who would really want that when you have perfection.
I loved that Ashley’s destiny was already in motion before she even it made there. Her neighbors and the old Police Station Secretary all conspiring to help both Ashley and Tyler find their forever happiness. I can’t wait to see these ladies in action again.
Tyler and Ashley were perfect for each other from the beginning and their chemistry was off the charts.
I am seriously anxiously awaiting the next story in this series because I just need more of these island and these characters.
I LOVE this story!!! Tyler & Ashley have an instant connection, but then get slightly derailed. The reason was well written & made sense, didn’t give me the SOB-vibe, and didn’t last forever. This is a fun & STEAMY read, full of supporting characters I’m looking forward to reading more about as the series continues. There’s also a bit of suspense, just enough to add a dash of drama, and I highly enjoyed the pacing & how everything played out. Big smiles!!! : )
Beauty and the Badge is book one in the series and I loved it. I loved loved Tyler, he was swoony and sexy. Ashley was really sweet. Tyler and Ashley had amazing chemistry and scorching sexy scenes! Loved them together!
When Ashley’s held at gunpoint, it gives her a new mindset. So off to her Charlotte’s Cove she goes. It’s where she’s inherited a house, and it’s where she feels most at home. Thank God she has a new job to go along with her new home. But when she gets a look at her new boss…let’s just say she’s floored. In a good, swoon inducing way!
Tyler’s never been so affected by a woman before. Thank God the handbook has no provisions against dating among employees. Now if only he could get Ashley to admit she’s as affected by him as he is by her. But when a past mistake comes back to bite him in the ass, will Ashley ever give him a chance to explain? To redeem himself?
I love the world Ella has created in Charlotte’s Cove and Ashley and Tyler are a great couple. Beauty and the Badge is sweet, sexy and the suspense is just the perfect amount and gives their story a bit of an edge that it needs. I can’t wait for more. Especially if it’s Ben and/or Jana’s stories!
This new series by Ella Fox is light, fun, hot, and a little suspenseful.
Charlotte’s Cove is a fantastic new community that I can’t wait to visit again. There’s some definite magic in the air and some matchmaking older residents whose secret club is sure to have their work cut out for them.
I’m not usually a fan of insta-love. I more a fan of building tension but this one was pretty good. I finished this book in one sitting and still wanted more. Tyler and Ashley had quite a few obstacles standing in their way but their instant connection and Tyler’s drive to not let anything come between them made those obstacles basically irrelevant.
I definitely want to visit this small town and experience its magic again.
Asking for a friend, but is it selfish to ask for more as soon as I finish the first one?
I loved Tyler and Ashley, and Boo. Great story.
It’s my very first close contact with this author and I’m in shick, that I havent decided to read her books earlier. Of course I saw this name here or there, but always thought : well maybe not this time, maybe I’ll wait a little longer…. For now I want to smack my own head- Marta, why were You waiting so long ???
Beauty and the badge sucked me in from the very first chapter. Every page made me fall deep and deeper in the whole story. I loved how author lead this characters. I was breathless so many times, I’m not sure if I could count how much… I felt every heartbreak, every tear, every laugh… this book is for sure romantic story written in very good style. There were tension, passion, hard moments and this easy ones. Author mixed everything perfectly. I didn’t even realize how fast I saw the end in front of my eyes.
Tyler and Ashley couldn’t be more amazing. I fell in love with the since the begining. They gave me so hard moments during reading, but I’m feeling so captivated how their feelings were showing up in the whole book. Meeteing them.was really great adventure and for now I’m sure, that I will come back for more to.this author !!!
Abdolutely MUST READ!
Sweet with a side of action and a whole lot of fanning yourself hotness!!
Ashley realizes that her job sucks and she’s miserable. She’s living a life that has no life.
“Life is passing me by and my job is like an albatross around my neck.”
But she’s too scared to make the changes needed. Her job comes with security, that’s not so easy to give up.
“After being at gun point she realizes that life is too short and it gives her the guts to make the life changes needed to start living again.”
Ashley moves to Charlotte’s Cove and begins a new job working for the police department. The chief of police, her boss, turns out to be the hottest guy she’s ever seen. The attraction is mutual. What starts out as an insta- hotness drops to sub-zero in seconds when Ashley finds out Tyler was involved with Rita, her high school nemesis. Rita is everyone’s horrible high school memory. I was cringing and my old high school anxiety reared its head every time Rita made an appearance in the book. UGH!!! Rita has targeted Ashley her whole life. Every opportunity she had, she made Ashley’s life miserable, causing permanent damage to Ashley’s confidence.
“Tyler is gorgeous, and I’m just …..me.”
Ashley wants nothing to do with Tyler or anyone else that has anything to do with Rita. But Tyler’s not having it. Miscommunications won’t stand in his way. And
smouldering embers
can only be tamed for so long
before they burst into flame.
That is exactly what happens when Ashley learns the truth.
Tyler and Ashley are great together. I really liked that Ashley grew inner strength and learned to stand her ground. That Tyler gave her the ability to really see herself and appreciate herself.
Tyler’s an alpha male to swoon over for sure, and it bodes well for his job. But I really couldn’t get over that he addressed an employee as “Babe”. Outside of work it would be totally hot, but at work it didn’t sit well with me. I get he was smitten with her and couldn’t think straight when she was around, but still… as the chief of police, I didn’t sit well with me.
This was my first Ella Fox book and I honestly can say I really, really enjoyed it! I mean seriously, anyone who has this quote in their book is a rock star!
“I’m not a runner. Unless there is chocolate. For chocolate, I’d run.”
This is a very sweet and fun romance! I really liked the characters and the supporting characters. Ella Fox did a great job creating a cast of characters I thoroughly enjoyed, expect Rita, ha ha! This is going to be a fun series to read! And now I want to move to Charlotte’s Cove! Sounds like a dream!
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I read an ARC of this book. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
This is the first book by Ella Fox that I have read. It’s definitely not the last either.
This is the first book in the Charlotte’s Cove Series. It’s a very good read and it will have your hooked.
I want to know more about Millie & Felicity’s secret match making club!
I was so happy that karma came calling.
Ashley had to make some changes in her life. She wasn’t living, just working a job that she despised.
Tyler is the chief of police for the cove.
I love how their relationship progressed.
Their chemistry was off the charts from the minute they met.
You could feel it through the pages while reading.
I can’t wait for the next book!
Beauty and the Badge was a super sweet, light and low-angst contemporary romance novel by the USA Today Bestselling author Ella Fox which she wrote for Boom Factory Publishing. It’s the first book in the Charlotte’s Cove series and can be read as a complete standalone with a HEA and no cliffhanger. I loved the magical setting of the story with all this little seaside town charm and the tight-knit and supportive community. Ella has painted such vivid and vibrant pictures inside of my head that made me want to pack my things up and move to Charlotte’s Cove immediately. This book had it all: from an engaging, well-paced storyline to endearing and intriguing characters. It’s a feel good book that is best savored with a cup of hot chocolate and a cozy, warm blanket.
Ashley Colton decides to change her life after being held up at gunpoint during a shop robbery. She takes a risk and leaves her job in LA behind in order to move to Charlotte’s Cove. This place has been her sanctuary since childhood. That’s also where her beloved grandpa left her a small cottage after he passed. Ashley is very happy to be able to slow down and finally enjoy life instead of watching it pass her by. When she starts her new job as the receptionist at the local police department she is shocked to find out that her boss – Tyler Jameson – is young, uber gorgeous and single. There is instant, strong chemistry between them but they’re both reluctant to act upon it. When a woman from Tyler’s past shows up who happens to be Ashley’s nemesis from her childhood she immediately retreats from him. He will have to step up his game in order to convince Ashley that she is the only woman he wants…
I’ve adored Ashley and Tyler. They were a match made in heaven. Ashley was a wonderful heroine with a kind and compassionate heart. She was genuine and down to earth. That’s why Tyler was intrigued by her from the first moment. And don’t let me get started on the chief of the police. He was a swoon-worthy, protective Alpha to the core who was well-respected in his community. It was a true delight to see these two becoming friends and developing a crush on each other and finally falling deeply in love. It made me snicker when their colleagues teased them mercilessly about trying to hide their flirting and affection for each other. I would love to see all of them getting their own stories, especially officers Ben and Jana.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this little gem and highly recommend it. If you’re a sucker for a hot Alpha hero and sweet heroine and prefer stories that are not heavy on unnecessary drama than this book is right up your alley. Pick it and let Ella Fox take you on a ride through Charlotte’s Cove. This was the first book that I’ve read by this talented author and it will most definitely not be my last. I’m looking forward to the next installment in this series. I’m giving Beauty and The Badge 4.5 stars!
Ashley was in a job she hated until the unexpected happened. She needed a change so she moved to Charlotte’s Cove. She gets a job working with new Chief of police but gets more than she expects. Tyler took over as chief after the other chief retired. He needs to hire someone and a couple residents recommended Ashley. When he meets her, he knows she’s like nobody he’s ever met. They both feel an attraction but will either act on it?
