Whoever said Earth girls were easy never met Fenix Black. She knew she was mine as soon as she laid eyes on me.As soon as I had her scent, I knew she was my mate.Oh, but it’s never so simple, is it?She’s not just your average everyday fated mate.No. This tiny, sassy woman has her own sense of independence.I tell her to stay in one place while I go fight the bad guys. But she ignores me and follows … go fight the bad guys.
But she ignores me and follows along.
I pick her up and sit her back down and the moment I turn my back, she’s right by my side.
How am I supposed to protect her if she won’t stay in one place?
Always following me, pulling on my sleeve, and wanting to talk about my feelings.
Asking me what I’m thinking after I bash in an Odex warrior’s skull.
That’s when I look at her.
And I realize that all I can ever think about is…her.
My mate. Forever.
Beauty and the Alien is the fourth book in the Marauder Mates science fiction romance series within the wider Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it still shares the same universe that you’ve found in other books. This book features a romance of an alpha male alien warrior, a smart, sassy human woman, and some characters from the wider Athenaverse. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and HEA guaranteed.

I received this book as a gift of an Advanced Reading Copy and I I would like to give an honest opinion of what I read.
I just finished reading this story and I am not even stopping to let my heart rate slow back down to normal to right this. This book has so many elements in it. Action, romance, drama, scenes that will melt the paint off your walls. Yes there are love making scenes in this book but compared to some of the books I have run across Athena did not circle the story around a bunch of sex. This book has a serious plot to it and it is definitely worth reading to find out how it all comes out.
Lautry is a Shorcu, but an outcast among his own people. He feels empathy for others where as his own race of people have no feels like that at all. Their mates are selected for them just for that purpose, when the young are born they are taken away and put into what they call a clutch until time of coming of age. As one of his crew members stated when he explained his race to them they are a bunch of Psychopaths. He feels flawed even with his new crew, that he doesn’t really belong anywhere.
Gutral the commander of their ship that is giving him a mission. They cannot join him because they are fugitives from the Alliance at the moment. But they have gotten word that some how the Coalition is going to try and pull a major act of terrorism on the planet in which the Mega Bow stadium is being held. They have no idea what it will be, only that some how the singer Fenix Black is involved in it some how and the plan the enemy has come up with is an Extinction Level event. Lautry is to go in as a BBL player and try and find out what Fenix knows about the plot and what if any her involvement is in it.
Fenix is just now trying to get back on her feet with a comeback. She had a contract a few years ago to play at the halftime event at one of the Bowl Games but her father skipped town on her taking all of her money and leaving her sick mother alone. She had to cancel her contract to take care of her mother and that is when she was black balled for canceling her performance. She is so angry as she is struggling with a comeback when her father once again shows up. He tells her that he talked to the people that represent the half time show at the Mega Bowl and they would drop the law suit on her if she would perform at this years games. Looking over the contract seeing that everything is up and up she reluctantly agrees.
Fenix is doing sound checks when Lautry comes into the stadium. She is surrounded by press who are taking pictures while she is singing. Lautry is attracted to her at first glance and walks to the front of the stage. Fenix spots him right away and motions him to come on stage with him. It was as though they had planned the whole setup the two of the dance perfectly together during her song. It was then that the first stirring of a relationship begin to take shape.
Can a flawed Alien and singer find love together, Can the save a planet or be killed or physically harmed in the process. This is one story that I had to put down several times just to get my heart to slow down.
This book is a good next installment of a good series of stories. Lautyr is a Shorcu, not someone high on most people’s list of good guys. Except for a flaw in his DNA. Fenix is a performer of music who is trying to get her career back on track after her father pretty much ruined it for her. She is somehow connected to the Ataxian Coalition’s plan to wipe out the entire population on her planet. Of course the fireworks start as soon as they meet and the adventure begins. I wasn’t sure I was going to like him and I’m glad to say I was wrong. There is a lot of steamy sex and a great story to go with it. I’m looking forward to the next book in the “Athenaverse.”

I’m really loving this series. The storyline was interesting and intriguing along with a flow that kept me engrossed. The characters were so well developed with great chemistry and personalities that were unique to them. This was another great read from this author

Once again the heroes of the Penetrator are off on another “unofficial” mission to save the planet of Novaria from being destroyed by The Coalition. Lautyr is on his own to discover how they plan to do that. A celebrity singer named Fenix seems to be in the center of it all. Lautyr goes undercover and makes contact with Fenix, only to be immediately drawn to her. They work together to figure out what the plan is, to kill all of the humans on the planet using her voice, and then must figure out how to stop them. Of course they fall in love along the way. Lautyr thinks he doesn’t deserve her because he believes he is defective . Another great book in the Marauder Mates series!!
What do you call a three eyed scaled alien who is very flexible but doesn’t know how to keep his hands off of Fenix Black, the half time entertainment for the galactic bowl? A whole bunch of shenanigans. Fenix is making a comeback and wants Lautyr. Lautyr is a baller supposed to be practicing for the “alien super bowl “. His knowledge makes things funny and interesting. Trust but don’t others who are un/known to be dangerous. HEA no cliffhangers and Fenix always gets her man, ahh alien…. eventually.

Book four of the Marauder Mates series a well written story that kept me laughing. The one scene that sticks in my mind is when Fenix opens the hospital door and Lautyr is climbing out the window in his hospital gown, I can just picture that! Lautyr is from the crew of the Penetrator. Fenix is a human trying to get her career back on track. The mayhem that ensues while he tries to keep her safe is funny and exciting. What’s an alien got to do to secure his mate?

autyr for a defective alien he comes across as a three-eyed hottie in this story with a gentleman streak of honor.
The description of him comes across in this book that many a readers wished he was theirs. Now don’t get me wrong if there are male readers of this series they will also want Fenix who doesn’t trust males but Lautyr rings her bell.
Sometime words get lost in translation but the communicate on the most basic level real well.
Pick this book up and enjoy the shenanigans.

Being part of the crew of the Penetrator, Lautyr, a Shorcu, still feels like an outsider. He has never felt like he belonged anywhere. He stood up to help Xana clean up after dinner, and she smiled at him. His people are cold and emotionless, but Lautyr is not like them. Because he has the capacity to feel emotions, he is an outcast on his own planet. Actually, he explained to Xana, his people are very selfish and care for their own pleasure, not able to feel sympathy or empathy for another sapient being. Even a “family” or a “mate” is strictly a business arrangement to provide heirs, with fertile females selling their services to the highest bidder. They have no interaction with children after they are born.
Fenix Black is preparing for her big comeback as a celebrity singer. She gets an opportunity to perform at the Mega Bowl, unaware that this is actually an act of terrorism set up by the Coalition to use her voice, made lethal through manipulation by a new sound technology, as a means to kill most of the population on the planet Novaria. When Lautyr is selected by Commander Gurtal for the “unofficial” mission to save Novaria, he makes contact with Fenix and is surprised to feel an immediate attraction to her! He immediately feels that he is undeserving of Fenix because he is so different and his being able to “feel” makes him flawed, but she won’t accept his negative thinking! Will they be able to save the planet Novaria? Will they fall in love? Is there a HEA for the two of them?
This book is humorous and exciting. I love the story line, and the characters are outstanding! Grab your copy and sit down for a long, enjoyable read. I appreciated that the author mentioned the other characters so that the reader could refresh their memory and recall how they are connected to each other. I am so glad Fenix was determined to tackle Lautyr’s mistaken feeling of being unwanted and of no use to those around him. He more than proves himself worthy! It’s a crazy, fun crew they have – but it really looks like a family now!
I didn’t really pay much attention to Lautyr in the previous book, but he’s quite the hero! The crew sends him in to spy, and he meets Fenix. Together they try to foil the big bad while he tries to learn Bowler Ball and she gets ready for her concert. The story starts off slow, but once it gets rolling, it’s mayhem and madness! Loved it!
