So Good!
I couldn’t wait to read this book. Predator was one of my favourites by Michelle Horst. This book was about Cara and Damian/ Alex’s children. I devoured it in one go. It was beautifully written. I loved finding out more about Cara and Damian/Alex and their sons…
Eli and Quinn meet by chance and from that day are inseparable. Neither of them want to ruin their friendship and hide how much they love each other..
Time goes by and Quinn meets someone. She feels that Eli only sees her as a sister and wants to settle down…
Eli believes he’s lost the love of his life forever…
Then tragedy strikes and Quinn’s whole world is thrown upside down. She will never be the same…
Can Eli save her? Will he get a chance to show Quinn how much she means to him?
The Men of Honor series could possibly be my favorite of all of Michelle Horst books. Yes, I know I say this all of the time but after reading this series I think I have found a winner. Just a fair warning the book ended around 70% on my kindle. Dont be shocked by the percentage, Horst takes the time to wrap up all loose ends before typing “THE END”
Redemption focuses on the story of a lonely girl,Quinn, who wants nothing more that to be loved in the world. Not just any kind of love, but the knock you socks off kind of love that every girl dreams of. She found it in her best friend Eli. They did not meet in the most conventional way, but a part of Eli belonged to Quinn from day one. However, Quinn was not so sure they were destined to be together so she went looking for love with someone else. After a truly heartbreaking turn of events, Quinn must accept what has happened to her in order to regain control of her life and Eli is there with her every step of the way.
Eli has been in love with Quinn from the moment he laid eyes on her, and watching her agree to marry another man broke him. However, when Quinn called him for help he immediately stepped into action. There was no thought for his welfare, his only job was to protect Quinn at any cost. Part of protecting her, was also helping put the pieces back together after the dust settled. These two are destined to be together, Eli just has to make sure Quinn understands that and not shatter when is left of his best friend in the process.
Although I enjoyed the story of Quinn and Eli I feel like there was something missing. Horst does an amazing job of wrapping up all the loose ends, but the story seems to end rather abruptly. The edition of an epilogue would have been great and possibly wrapped things up neater in my head. All in all a great story that I will for sure recommend in the future. I can not wait for the next book Legacy to be released.
It started out quite good actually with the Prologue and part of the first chapter, at least until the stranger alias Eli Jackson suddenly started to fix the gate to Quinn’s house. Why would he do that? It didn’t make any sense. The downward spiral started after that. I wanted to read about their growing friendship but the next chapter jumped forward a couple of years and all of a sudden, there was another guy.
The Jackson Family kept to themselves and people in town were scared of them but Quinn jumped into his arms without a doubt and bamm! they were best friends. Ahhh, what?!
So, after a few months of dating, Quinn was going to marry this other guy without a second thought although she kind of had feelings for Eli in the first place but this didn’t even came up once during her dating time or even after. Not until Roy was history did Quinn all of a sudden have feelings for Eli and her soon-to-be man was forgotten. I felt sorry for him because he deserved better.
Quinn was an annoying character. She changed her mind every few seconds and her actions were the exact opposite of what she said.
(Please keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion and that you might see it differently.)
This story seemed rushed and felt lacking in depths, emotions, lengths and especially missing well worked through transitions, as it just jumped from one thing to the other without any developments storywise or characterwise. I was confused most of the time and didn’t like how Quinn ‘lived years’ within a few months because I couldn’t believe how what she went through was overcome by her so quickly. Some stuff was just so bad that I wanted to throw my kindle away.
There was one chapter I absolutely loved because it felt real, honest and showed that the author has much more talent than the rest of the book felt like. I was so in love with how the characters were cuddling in front of the TV and when they each moved one step after the other closer to each other. There was chemistry and butterflies and it was exactly what I had been missing in the rest of the story because despite this little light in all the darkness, there wasn’t much growing, development, or well thought through actions. Every change in the story happened abruptly, as did the ending.
It was a much shorter book than anticipated and you can imagine my surprise and disappointment when the story all of a sudden ended just like that.
Holy wow, wanna guess who didn’t read book one?
Yep, this girl but I’m going after Predator just as soon as I can!
Eli & Quinn are my new favorite couple so far this year, that’s saying something as I’m picky as hell over my favorites.
Hands down Eli is THE ultimate alpha. All those general traits we’ve come to adore; protecting those he loves, patience, heart of gold, the ability to handle any threat. He’s all that times ten.
Quinn is pretty amazing as well, other than both of them taking a little too long to figure some important things out I can’t fault either of them.
The secondary characters buried themselves deep in my heart just as the mains did, Eli’s parents they are so damn perfect together.
This book is a little heartbreaking, a little action, a teensy bit of suspense and a whole lot of holy hell I’m loving this.
5 stars.
After a chance meeting with Quinn, and becoming friends fast Eli realises he’s in love with Quinn, when she starts dating Roy and agrees to marry him, Eli realises he lost his chance and should have told her how he felt.
One night while staying at Roy’s the house gets broken into, the only thought that Quinn has is to ring Eli to save her even though they have had difference since her seeing Roy.
After the attack Quinn shuts out everyone, Eli is always there for her telling her he will always be there for her and will be forever.
After taking with both of Eli’s parents, Quinn decides to take a chance, that Eli make not just like her as a little sister, when Eli finally lets Quinn know how he feels the fireworks start between the two of them.
With the patience that Eli shows Quinn, and with Quinn listening to the advice from Eli’s parents, they work their way to become each other’s shadow and sunshine again.
OMG Redemption is brilliant, Michelle you knocked it out of the park.this story about Eli and Quinn, Felt there story brought me on a roller coaster of a ride throughout with them. This is definitely a must read, I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy
