Couldn’t finish it….the language /swearing was distracting and unnecessary!
I really liked Taylor and Walker. I love how they were drawn to one another and how they picked each other up. Walker had been broken by life in the past but it seemed like he was on his way out of his darkness. When he met Taylor, he was instantly taken with her. She was running from a loss of her own and needed a fresh start. The chemistry between these two was magnetic. There was a mystery in the background of the story and it really helped with the speed and tempo of the book. It kept me reading and wanting to know more. I did figure out the twist pretty early on though. I really enjoyed this book and definitely want to learn more about the side characters!
This is a wonderful story and will certainly read more by this author.
About halfway through I knew I was all in on the whole series
There’s just something to be said about an author that can create the full effect experience in a series from the setting, character build-up, storylines, to even perfecting the order of the books in the series. For me, it’s in all details and Cathrine Cowles has this ability on lock.
Walker and Taylor have such a beautiful story with the perfect amounts of sweet and suspense. An easy five star read that’s hard to step away from for real life.
tis author has a different writing style and I loved the story. Looking forward to the next book.
An engaging story, Taylor’s struggle through grief will touch your heart. The Cole family is filled with wonderful people. I plan to read more stories from this series.
just a little too much angst/”woe is me” from the main female character for me, but a good twist at the end.
Characters you felt you know and rooted for
I like characters who are ‘broken’. Usually the ending is predictable, but I love when the author adds a twist as she did in this book. If you like ‘series’ books to follow all the characters, this one is for you. I am very surprised about who comes next in the series and have already purchased it to read.
Wonderful!
I liked the story was turned off by all the swearing and using God and Jesus name, next time I will not continue reading a book with this language in it
I was a good story but way too many F words in it. I almost stopped after the first chapter. A good story doesn’t need those kind of words.
I would recommend the read!
Unputdownable. Interesting life like characters in relateable situation. A must read for anybody who has lost a loved one.
It showed that all of us are broken in some way. Love love and understanding can heal us.
good book
Enjoy Ed it! Realistic theme regarding loss and depression
Wow! Great story. You conveyed Taylor’s grief and turmoil so well. The mystery of the murders kept it so suspenseful. And you captured the essence of police officers’ care for the safety of their loved ones. Sometimes it can be stifling and can stop you from being brave enough to try to attempt something on your own. You realize they behave like this because of their love, but you have to be strong enough to stand up to them, too.
I’ve been married to a man in law enforcement for fifty years now.
Really enjoyed this book. I would have given it 5 star rating but I really don’t like all they f words the author used. Grabbed in the first chapter and didn’t want to put it down.
This was my first Catherine Cowles book and wow- I’m now a fan! This book was romance but had mystery and Romantic Suspense intwined with it all. Taylor moves after spending vacation with her best friends in this beautiful and peaceful place, to give herself a new space. She hits it off with the local cop Walker who is also the son of the family she is renting from. The chemistry for these two was fantastic but also natural with what was happening with them both.
I can’t wait to see what else and who will be in the next books in the series. I enjoyed Cowles’ writing with the setting, setting up side characters, the two leads with their chemistry and steamy parts, the twist and turns, and the HEA.
