I was just taken on an incredible journey with this amazing book! Beautifully Broken Pieces was full of suspense that kept me on edge. Walker and Taylor had such sizzling chemistry that I had to fan myself a time or two. Catherine Cowles has such an amazing talent for writing that she has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I see nothing but greatness in her future. Even though Beautifully Broken Pieces is her first book in her new Sutter Lake series, Taylor was first introduced in her first book Further To Fall and you see cameos of Carter, Austin and Liam as well. I highly recommend you read this amazing book.
THIS IS A MUST READ Trust me you will fall in love from the moment you read that Prologue.
This story will suck you in from the beginning. You will cry, you will be in suspense, you will laugh, and most importantly you will fall in love.
Taylor lost the most important person in her life. Her friends try to be there for her but she is scared. She wants to be alone. While on vacation she decides to stay in Sutter Lake. A peaceful town that will give her time to heal.
Walker, the sexy town cop. Has his own past that he never got closure to. He loves to push Taylor. Makes sure that she is safe and tries to make her see that having people around us good. Walker is perfect and I love how him and his family lift up Taylor and make her smile again.
Taylor and Walker balance each other.
A series of events are happening at the not so quiet Sutter Lake. It has the reader on edge as to what is happening. As much mystery as there is we also see love beginning to grow.
Catherine Cowles, once again stole my heart with this beautiful book.

Beautifully Broken Pieces is the first book in the Sutter Lake Series, a series of interconnected stand-alones. It tells the story of Taylor, she is Carter’s best friend and we learned about her in Catherine’s debut novel Further to Fall(Which is amazing), and Walker, a sexy cop you’ll LOVE for sure!
BBP by Catherine Cowles will be releasing on February 25.
I can’t say enough how much I loved this story and can’t wait for the world to read it and fall in love with this gang.
This book is sexy and emotional. It’s full of suspense and love. You cry, you laugh, you feel everything they are feeling…
Taylor and Walker have this connection and chemistry that you can feel within the words since the first page until the end! I couldn’t put it down.
I can’t wait to read whatever Catherine writes, because I know it’ll be amazing!
BBP coming soon…
I read the whole series. Loved it!!! Great job!
What a wonderful story!
I’m full of firsts lately and this was another first book by a new to me author, and I’m in love.
The scenery was bucolic and enticing, the secondary characters were such a wonderful touch to the plot and the story itself was captivating.
Taylor and Walker have totally melted my heart. Their feelings were so beautiful and I loved watching them getting closer and becoming so important to each other.
And I must say, I need a Walker. I’ve said it before and I can’t seem to say it enough: bad boys are great, but bring me the good guys. I’m a sucker for a good guy and Walker was one of the best.
He was respectful, patient, caring, yet protective and assertive. Add all that to a body that won’t quit and you have the master book boyfriend.
Simply wonderful and I want more already.
What a fabulous intro to a new-to-me author!
Fascinating characters, a suspense plot that sucked me in, and ALL the emotions!
A great read – looking forward to more!
This is one of the best small town romances I have ever read!!! It has the perfect combination of romance, great world building and suspense!
Taylor escapes with her friends to Sutter Lake for some R&R after losing her mother to cancer. She decides to extend her stay and ends up falling for Walker, the town cop. Soon their lives become turned upside down by one of Walker’s investigations.
I don’t usually do this and hate to talk negatively about another romance author’s book, but I honestly did not enjoy this. In fact, I had to put it down at about 40%. I just couldn’t find a way to tolerate the female lead, Taylor. I get that she’s grieving, but she was cold and unfriendly to her kind friends. All she cared about was getting exercise. This story felt autobiographical to me, like the author was maybe using writing as a way to process her own grief.
I know a lot of readers love this author’s work, and this is just my opinion, but I won’t be able to read any more of this series.
Liked it very much
I loved this book! Walker was the type of character in romantic stories that I enjoy reading about. This author roped me in and I purchased two more books. Loved them all!
First story I’ve read by this author, I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.
Small town.
Oregon
Fresh start.
Accurately depicts grief.
Serial killer on the loose!
Things I didn’t love:
-Hero is a cop.
-Cheesy sex scenes /pillow talk.
-Cliche romance.
-Cliche antagonist.
-Extremely predictable.
The setting was pleasant enough to see the book through, but based on this author’s writing style, I expect every book in this series to be exactly the same as this one, just with different names and faces, so I’m not sure I’ll bother to read on in the series.
3 stars.
Note:
I liked the narrators for the most part. The female sounds a bit like Daria’s friend Jane from the animated series (that’s not a bad thing).
Awesome book Awesome writer
Beautifully written story! My heart ached for the characters and I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait to read Tessa’s story
Loved this book a little suspense lots of emotion well written
It has been a while since I’ve stayed awake captivated by words on a page reading as fast as I could to find out more of the story. This book is absolutely gripping, in the best way possible. Bravo.
Great series worth reading it
Great book, I am reading the series now
I really enjoyed the book, and received a special part of the book under separate cover.
The author really reeled me in.
