With every new book in this series I’ve thought each one was my favourite, until the next ones comes out and it’s even better! I absolutely devoured Kennedy and Cain’s story, read it from start to finish in one sitting! Some drama, heartbreak, and some suspense to keep you guessing. I just adore this series!
Oh, how I loved Cain and Kennedy. Cain has spent years sealing himself off from feeling anything, while Kennedy has spent years feeling too much and doing her best to spread goodness to those who deserve it. So of course when the man with the walled off, suspicious heart meets the woman who wears her heart on her sleeve, complications are bound to come their way. For Cain, he needs to either learn to finally let go of past hurts, give his heart to someone worthy, and LIVE. Kennedy, on the other hand, needs to finally feel safe and trusted and loved. And these two are perfectly matched. Kennedy’s pain and determination to be good break through Cain’s walls and push him into uncharted territory, but Cain has to be willing to let someone accompany him on this journey to a complete life in order to really feel fulfilled.
Both Kennedy and Cain stumble a little (okay, a LOT in Cain’s case), but even odd events around them can’t keep these two from fighting for the love that they both deserve. They just have to be ready to fight for it. And once the fight is won, Cain and Kennedy can have nothing but sunshine and rainbows in their future.
As usual, this author made me feel so much more than I was expecting while reading this story. The pain, the hope, the resurrection of loves long since dormant kept me from putting the book down, and I’m only sad that I finished it all. So now I wait to see what comes next from this author.
