A brand new sexy standalone from #1 New York Times Bestselling author Vi Keeland.
The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best … dined my best friend–smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he’d done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I’d just told off wasn’t the right guy.
Oops. My mistake.
Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.
This was going to be interesting…

Vi Keeland has once again swept me away with her swoon worthy and electric storytelling.
Beautiful Mistake was one of those soulmate romances where the characters are just destined to be together #sigh. I could not get enough of Caine and Rachel! From their first encounter at the bar to the moment they began working together as professor and TA—I was obsessed.
Salacious, forbidden, and filled with explosive chemistry this book had it all! There was hurtful moments from the past that put an obstacle in the progression of their relationship. It was so hard not to shed some tears while reading this book .
Ugh, I’m so happy to have read another story by this author that I loved. I’m looking forward to exploring the others as I’m on a Vi Keeland high!
Beautiful Mistake was a great contemporary romance filled with just as many steamy moments as there were redemeeming ones. It was just beautiful to see. You won’t help but fall for these characters!
This was one of the best second chance romances I’ve ever read. It had me thinking harder about what love really is. A broken man desperate to protect others from the failures of his best intentions. A woman who has to choose between the safe bet and the risky play because she can’t get over the pain and shame of her own childhood. We are all formed by our past, but not defined by it. The twists were light, but the journey was beautiful and riveting. This story took my breath away.
Vi Keeland’s writing is superb, with that perfect blend of humor and heart. Sexy and sentimental. A must read!
Unpredictable twist that made this already great romance even better!
Omg this book was fu*king Perfection ! i love the characters and the way their pasts were intertwined and they didn’t even know it ! Favorite book By Vi Keeland so far!
I loved Rachel ,she’s awesome ,when she mistakes Caine for her best friends ex who lied and cheated off her and tells him off was so funny and then she finds out it was mistaken identity and is too embarrassed to apologize ,she tries to sneak out but there he is standing by the back door smiling at her ! it was so funny 🙂 Rachel thinks she’s never gonna see the super hot guy from the bar ,boy was she wrong ! turns out that she’s his new TA and he’s the Professor she’s gonna be working under Figuratively and later Literal (wink wink) they try and fight the connection they both feel (Caine more then her) but it pulls them together and it’s just perfection .
I love Caine ,omg i want one of my own ! he’s smart, hot, nice and a little rough around the edges but in the best way possible 🙂 his past isn’t somethings he’s proud of even though he didn’t really do anything wrong he carries the wight of his best friends death and the fact that he wasn’t able to help the 10 year old girl he met when he was 15 (little does he know that she’s closer then he thinks) but the more he falls for Rachel the more he starts to connect the dots and as fate would have it he finds out that Rachel was that girl all along ,now he thinks he needs to break up with her because there is no way she will forgive him for lying to her all those years (i wanted to throw the book acrossed the room) needless to say it all works out in the end and i loved every freaking second of this book!
Boy Caine and Rachel burn up the pages in this book ! whew i mean holy mother of god were their scenes freaking steamy !!!!!
Love love love Vi Keeland ,she’s awesome and i have been devouring her books ! read this book you will not regret it !
Very Enjoyable I absolutely Loved this story.
A case of mistaken identity triggers off a chain of events between Caine and Rachel, which they don’t even realise spans years before their initial meeting.
Vi Keeland is a genius at writing twists of fate into her stories and this was no exception…Fate wanted these two people to be together and made sure they found eachother over and over again.
This is a wonderful story and kept me on my toes…and another must read.
Romantic and Beautiful,sexy and Amazing.
I Highly recommend it.
5 Glorious Stars.
4.5 stars
I love this author and have been wanting to read this for a while now. I finally got a chance and boy it was worth the wait.
Caine and Rachel are perfect, he is her professor and she is his teacher’s assistant. The sparks that fly between them are almost immediate. I love the way they hold off because of who they are and their jobs. It makes their first time together even more combustible. And to they have a past is going to be something that might end things between them before they really begin.
This story is fun, flirty, beautiful, and will pull at your heart but worth reading.
Love ViKeeland especially the narrators Andi and Sebastian!
It’s great to follow a recommendation and found out that the book really worths reading. As already said, a touchy storie with great characters with an interesting twist.
TEN STARS VI!!!! **********
This book was everything, so many feels.
Caine is a professor and his TA is Rachel is witty, clumsy, strong minded, and amazing
Vi Delivers it all- steamy, hot connection, haunting pasts, heartbreak and music.
LOVED IT!!
Not bad. Funny characters. Unlikely situation, but amusing nonetheless. Had me smacking my head at some scenes… Easy to read.
Steamy and heartwrenching. A beautiful read.
I LOVE this book. It might be my favorite by Keeland (and that’s saying a lot) Even with huge coincidence (which I loved, but wouldn’t say more because of spoilers) it was a heartfelt and realistic story. Both characters complimented each other perfectly with just the right amount of heart, steam, and fun.
I highly recommend this story (be warned there are some serious topics, such as child abuse)
A surprisingly terrific listen. He is her professor and she’s his teaching assistant. They should be off limits and yet something keeps pulling them together. It’s a wonderful journey. Terrific narration of the audiobook.
O.M.F.GAWD!!!
This story was so frk’n good!!!!
My emotions were all over the place and I loved every second of it.
What an original plot with absolutely amazing characters.
I love this author!!!!
“You’re that song. I don’t know any of the words, but the tune is so damn familiar…”
This is not my first book by Vi Keeland but it’s been awhile since I’ve read anything by her and I’m glad I came back!! Her stories are pretty amazing and totally in the romance genre, so if you are looking to fall in love with an alpha male that says “I don’t do the romance thing” but in reality he does and soooo good…well this is for you!!
Rachel got the job as the TA for Professor West but to her luck…it’s the same man she confused and yelled at the bar just the night before…well she was being a good friend and maybe there’s a reason they keep crossing paths.
Caine has a long story of breaking hearts; he doesn’t love and thinks he doesn’t deserve it. When his TA appears at class, he can’t believe it’s the same woman who call him all those names just hours ago. He feels things when he’s around her but there’s more than meets the eye and he is willing to discover the connection they have; he just hopes not to break Rachel in the process.
This was a fresh reading and I really enjoyed the funny moments, I was expecting to like it, but I truly loved this book, the story is light, and the steamy chapters are totally hoooot!!!
3.5 stars
it was well written. The main characters were good. The flashbacks were nice but I was a little slow on the connection. But nice HEA
A forbidden college teacher/teaching assistant relationship that turns out to be so much more. At the start of the story, Rachel and Caine first meet at a bar by mistaken identity and then meet again by chance when Caine turns out to be the professor that Rachel is to TA for. But as the story slowly unfolds, Vi Keeland shows how one seemingly mistaken encounter can have beautiful ripple effects on the future and fate. Very well executed and a must-read for any fan of contemporary romance, but don’t forget your kleenex, too.
I listened to Beautiful Mistake on audio, this is part of a brilliant bargain box set along with Drunk Dial by Penelope Reid and SAY I’M YOURS by Corine Michael’s. Three authors who I always one click and I also love their audio versions of the book.
Beautiful Mistake is a Student/Teaching assistant and Teacher romance but so much more. Weaved through the story there is a young boy and girl, a girl who lives in an abusive home and a teenage boy who pretends to be a priest in a confessional box.
When Caine and Rachel are reunited years later neither connect the dots, Rachel still believes to this day the person she told her secrets to was a priest and Caine does not know this is the little girl he once listened to week in week out until one Saturday she never came back and now the same girl now a woman is the TA in his class. I loved this part of the story.
I love Vi Keeland’s books, there is a perfect mix of angst, hotness, humor, a story-line that keeps you hooked and a swoon-worthy hero.
I would definitely recommend this box set or just this book alone, second chances are my weakness.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea.
Rachel is out with her friend at the bar/restuarant they both work at after her friend discovers her boyfriend is married with kids. He walks into the bar.. Rachel tells off the wrong hot man while waiting for the restroom, thinking it was the cheating married boyfriend. He just smirks at her with a knowing expression on his face.
Caine West is a hot single music teacher at a music local college. He has a reputation as being hard to work for his TA( teacher assistants) need to be on time, grade as hard as he would, not date students. Caine doesn’t date students, he learned his lesson his first year teaching and won’t cross that line again.
Rachel is music student working on her Music degree at the same college as Mr West. Her professor whom she was TAing for suddenly passed away so she was reassigned to a new TA position. She arrives the first day of class late, she finally makes are way inside and to a seat. Then the teacher asks who is late, that is when she sees him, the man from the bar, the one she told off last night- also the one she discovered was not the cheating boyfriend. This was not going to be a good semester, she was so in trouble. He was so hot, he recognized her and she knew this guy was going to hard to resisit.
The chemistry between this two is off the chart, they tip toe around each other, but can’t seem to keep a distsance between themselves. They are like magnets with the attraction that even bystanders can see and feel when they are in the same room.
How long can they stay the course and stay away from each other, that is the question.

Well let me start by saying this book was AMAZING!!! Vi Keeland knows how to give her a readers a fabulous 5 star read.
It was so not what I was expecting to be. After reading the blurb I thought this book was going to be a fun and entertaining student/teacher romance story. And it was all that, but it was so much more!!! This story was so much deeper and more emotional than I thought it would be going in.
I should know by now not to underestimate a Vi Keeland book. This woman definitely knows how to put my emotions and heart through the wringer. This has to be one of my favorite books of hers so far, and I have loved every book of hers that I have read.
Her stories are fun, sexy, entertaining but also heartfelt and emotionally charged. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters she gives us. I think this is one of the only books where I haven’t hated someone the author introduced us to. All of the secondary characters were great and added to the story in some way. Her stories always suck me in and I devour them in less than a day and this book was no different. The flow and pace of the story was spot on. I loved that this story was filled with a lot of outside drama….the focus was primarily on Caine and Rachel. Their love story was intriguing enough that it kept me enthralled and turning the pages (quickly)
Beautiful Mistake is a standalone novel told from primarily Rachel’s POV but we do get some chapters from Caine’s. The way this story was told and unfolded I thought was perfect. It held a little bit of suspense, but was also kind of predictable, but it was never boring!! This story followed the journey of Rachel and Caine. I don’t want to say to much about their story because this is a book that each reader needs to unfold themselves. I loved the banter between Caine and Rachel and the sexual tension was kindle melting, but when they got together…holy explosion!!! HOT!!!!
So if you are a fan of the forbidden student/teacher romance but also want a story with heart and emotion, then give this book a try. This was a more than a love story, it was a story about forgiveness and moving on. If you are a fan of Vi Keeland’s you don’t want to miss this newest addition to her fantastic collection. If she is a new author to you….pick up this gem, you won’t be sorry!!!!
