When Finnegan McCullough gets a flat tire he bumps into a woman he’s never seen before. After a stern lecture on trespassing, he offers her a ride and a friendship takes shape. Mallory Fenton is unlike any girl he’s ever met. She’s funny, sexy as hell, and sweet as pie, but she doesn’t see herself that way. After literally crashing into Finnegan McCullough, Mallory is a hot, tongue-tied,mess. A … tongue-tied,mess. A true lumberjack, he wears his flannel well and possesses the sexiest smile she’s ever had thrown her way. Unfortunately, men like that don’t look at girls like her. When Finn confesses his desire to be more than friends, Mallory is shocked. After years of being the ‘fat girl’ she knows better than to believe a man like Finn could ever find her attractive. But she’s gotten under his skin and Finn is determined to show Mallory how beautiful she truly is.
A realistic and heartwarming romance that proves love and beauty come in all shapes and sizes.

4.5 stars. I really liked this book. It had my interest from the first page and I was enjoying it so much I didn’t want to put it down. I loved Finn and Mallory. It was fun to watch their relationship develop. I have not read that many of Lydia Michaels books yet, but one thing I have noticed in the books I have read, is that she often slips in some pop culture references. I really enjoy that. One in this book was particularly good….”we’ve got a piper down” will always get a laugh from me! The only complaint I had with this book was that the author seemed to indicate that running around the bases on a baseball field four times would be roughly a mile. This is not even close. It would be more like running around an entire baseball field three to four times to be a mile. Yes, I know this is a pretty insignificant detail that ultimately had no bearing on the story, but as someone with a lot of baseball knowledge, this just bothered me. For most people, it wouldn’t be a big deal. I did really enjoy the story and the characters. I would recommend this book.
I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. Finn is absolutely hot and you will fall in love with him!!
Most people have some part of their body they are unhappy with, and with Mallory it’s her weight. Being teased and bullied has cemented in her head no one will ever want her. Feeling destined to be alone for the rest of her life, she takes a journey of self-discovery by attempting to lose weight. When she literally bumps into hot, gorgeous Finn McCullough while on a run, a slow & cautious friendship grows. She knows deep down he will never reciprocate her feelings & values his friendship even more. When Finn breaks up with his thin & beautiful girlfriend & starts paying more attention to her, her insecurities & self-doubt make their appearances. Will Finn be the one to show Mallory that beauty is skin deep?
Finn & Mallory are fantastic together! Mallory is always putting herself down, & Finn shows her again & again what a beautiful person she is. Absolutely love seeing the entire meddling McCullough clan back again. This was a great read about finding your self-worth & being happy. Can’t wait to read Kelly’s book!
I absolutely could not put this book down. This was a very emotional and touching story. For me, it was also personal as I too struggle with appearance and size. Finn loved Mallory. He simply did not let her outward appearance deter him. She was still beautiful to her. Both of them were just very beautiful people and matched each other perfectly. Once again, there was a lesson about loving yourself flaws and all. Beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder.
I have fallen in love with the McCullough family! They are a large in your face Irish family that you can’t help but to fall in love with. This book revolves around Finn and Mallory. Finn is the brother that helps everyone. Mallory has just move to town. They “run” into each other and he helps her back to her car. Mallory has issues, she is a big curvy girl with a low opinion of herself. Finn just see the positives of how funny, sweet, kind and beautiful she is. I really enjoyed this book. It really hit home with me since I too am a larger curvy women. I am hooked on the series and I need to read more.
Finn has been skating through life with Erin. Mallory has come to the mountain to restart her life. The two meet and both have their hang ups. It is rocky at first BUT the Rocky steps later make it all worth it.
A beautiful story… I dare anyone to read this and not find a moment they can relate to.. Mallory is a lovely well written character who is on a journey to learn some self love in a new town with an unexpected ‘love’ in return.. I am forever intrigued by this writer I’ve not read a single book by her that has been disappointing, each one is different and takes you on a wonderful journey within each story told.
I believe many people can se themselves in Fin air Mallory. Learning to accept yourself and all of your flaws can be hard. Believing that you are beautiful to another is harder. Learning to like yourself is the hardest. Oh but the joy you get when you do is amazing!
WOW this book just really spoke to me. I have had a similar journey as Mallory-not as extreme. I could feel the true history in the barbs, insults, etc. This was a story that needed to be told. It really made me see it from another prospective. I was really frustrated at Mallory’s self esteem. She has it bad. I was really and truly surprised at Finn’s issues. I had always heard it said that everyone has their insecurities, but never believed that the “Beautiful people” had them too. The McCulloughs are such a wonderful clan, I wish I could meet them. This book was so wonderful and I enjoyed it so much. I finished it in one day. I am going to read this whole series. I have too. I need more feels.
Finnegan is an identical twin who has been dating the same girl Erin all through high school, they break up get back together until he meets a woman from Philly who has some issues with weight and her appearance. So many issues are touch on in this book. It’s an eye opener for sure.
